I have the following on my list for my just turned 17 year old boy - he won't receive it all but they're ideas under consideration! Would love to see your lists

Xbox series X (hoping for another price drop)

iPad - his existing one is 5 years old and used daily

Nike Tech tracksuits / Fred Perry hoodie / Ralph Lauren tracksuit / Nike t shirts / Nike dri fit tracksuits

Fiddle cubes + toys

Home made sweets and crisps hamper

Crimpit

Eeepsh · 19/11/2023 09:06

2 crimpets on their way here too!!

@Thelifeofawife could you link to the oodie seller please? There are so many cheaper versions, would be great to get a cheapy good one, Ta.

GuitarGeorgina · 19/11/2023 09:11

@OrderOfTheKookaburra

please could you link to the IKEA cases. I’ve googled and can’t find them.

ScarlettDarling · 19/11/2023 09:13

Really useful thread, I find men so hard to buy for. I’m pinching the prism idea from above to go in my son’s stocking.

So far I’ve got my 19 year old:
New phone
CK swimming shorts
Crimpit wrap and cookery book (got the traditional crimpit last year!)
Tommy Hilfiger boxers
Ralph Lauren boxers
Ransom notes board game
Socks
Bottle of Jagermeister
Hotel chocolat
Tommy Hilfiger hoody
T Rex yoga calendar!
We’re going to get him some Raybans too and probably some trainers of his choice.
He asks for absolutely nothing (unlike his 16 year old sister 😳🤣) but is such a lovely lad that it’s nice to treat him.

In his stocking:
Sneaker wipes
Long charger cables
Salt spray
Toe nail scissors!!
”Kind” energy patches
Sharpie gel pens
Various chocolate oranges/matchmakers/ After 8s

Sticktoslimmingworld · 19/11/2023 09:14

@Blanketpolicy just ordered the crimpet and the square one as I like square thins and it might make me stick to slimming world 🤞. DS first year at Uni so having lots of wraps as I get him a pack of 4 fajita and enchilada box sets from Costco and he’s always got loads of wraps left and he was asking me what to do with the left over wraps the other day. I love a kitchen gadget! Also will get the tweezerman off your list as I saw them the other day in Costco with a magnifying mirror too.

Very helpful feel like he’s got some surprises to open now as he only wants money too. Thanks.

Timeforallthecheese · 19/11/2023 09:18

DS is getting an x box x. Waiting to see what comes this week as a bundle with new headphones and or games.

Clothes thanks to the Nike discount and possibly new trainers, again with an Adidas code.

Then his stocking with the obligatory lynx set, some aftershaves from Next, chocolate, sweets, Primark fluffy pjs.

Winewednesday · 19/11/2023 09:19

This thread it great, thanks for the ideas and I have ordered the crimpit too and will give the other to my husband as he will love it!

Another one who has ordered two Crimpits - that website will wonder what has increased their sales in the last 24 hours! 😁

And me!

BigBoysDontCry · 19/11/2023 09:32

FelicityGraceSpoon · 19/11/2023 08:34

Amazon have the Xbox series x for 404 quid today which is the cheapest I've seen. It's still err about 200 quid more than I'd like to pay 😀 but thinking of biting the bullet and going for it.

Wish they'd do a deeper discount. Which of course will happen as soon as I decide to buy it

Amazon mostly have return until the end of January so if that's the case with the Xbox, you could buy it and still look for further bargains and just return that one?

Pollyparkin · 19/11/2023 09:32

Got so far a guitar, air pod cleaning tool, socks. He wants cash but we aren't awash with ready cash sadly!

LudicrousDickbiscuit · 19/11/2023 09:34

I was looking at the optical illusion prisms but I am afeared of burning the house down!

Croc lights, airpod cleaner and trainer cleaners all now on my list.

I've got 3 teenage boys and usually end up getting face masks, gloves, nail clippers and tweezers every year.

The year they each (and my 50 year old brother) got a box of 48 Freddos has gone down in legend. Unfortunately Costco don't do them anymore but someone must.

48wheaties · 19/11/2023 09:35

DS is 16 and has ASD
He is an amateur photographer.

List:
Camera lens (£449)
Chocolates

That's it!

48wheaties · 19/11/2023 09:36

Plus knick knacks for his stocking, such as a mechanical pencil, sweets, chewing gum...

zen1 · 19/11/2023 09:38

Great thread and some good ideas for those with DC on the spectrum (my teenage boys all are). None of them are interested in clothes or labels (as long as it’s comfortable, they don’t care), and would be offended if I bought clothes as they don’t see them as ‘present material’. Ditto phones (they see them as an essential, so why would they want one for Christmas). So difficult!

One of them wants a PS3 (but has to be good condition with box and inserts) as he collects old consolesHmm, they all love Lego, particularly retro Lego Space sets and Star Wars. I always get stocking fillers of fiddle toys, squishy stress balls, light-up stuff. Various games for their (many) consoles. These were a good buy from WH Smith at two books for £12 in an offer at the moment. One of my sons asked for 2 because he wants the orange minifigures.

BigBoysDontCry · 19/11/2023 09:38

I terms of the oodies. I have bought off brand ones before for DS and his girlfriend and they loved them.

However, last year I got a deal on a 2 pack of the proper ones and they report that they are far warmer.

For most it probably doesn't matter, but they are in Aberdeen in an old granite built rented flat and don't like to use the heating much so they appreciated the difference. I think I paid £80 for the two through an offer that appeared on Facebook.

frecklejuice · 19/11/2023 09:43

Ds is 15 and has:

A coat
Xbox controller
Shower speaker
Nike gilet
Trainers
Golf glove

That's about it really as nothing he wants is cheap and I'm going to get moaned at by dh when he opens this lot on Christmas morning as he was only supposed to have the coat!

Woush · 19/11/2023 09:45

@wlv12 please could you tell me more about the drum show? I did not know such a thing existed and sounds amazing for DS. Is it the one in Sept next year, as says tickets not available. Thank you!

Oxonc3 · 19/11/2023 10:37

I couldn't decide which crimpet so got both 🤪. The stress/fidget toy mentioned on here actually has ‘featured on mumsnet’ and someone earns a commission on it- never seen that before

Thelifeofawife · 19/11/2023 10:42

Eeepsh · 19/11/2023 09:06

This is the seller, someone posted which are Oodies, I’ll find the photo of them.
I ordered the Star Wars one and it definitely is.
I also ordered a plain grey one thinking that was the real deal but it’s really thin, it’ll do though.

This was posted in another Christmas thread, I can’t confirm myself but according to the poster these are the ones that are Oodies

Can I see your present lists for older teenage boys please?
EwwSprouts · 19/11/2023 10:54

@OrderOfTheKookaburra Take a look at tennis club membership? It can be very reasonable for under 18s if you go for a local club not a big name like David Lloyd. DS has a great social life through his as well as having done first tier coaching...which led to being paid to help coach young children in the holidays.

FelicityGraceSpoon · 19/11/2023 10:58

@Oxonc3 Mumsnet themselves earn commission on all the links they share - just so you're aware!

And just in case any doubt at all - all the links I've shared here are non - affiliated
