I have the following on my list for my just turned 17 year old boy - he won't receive it all but they're ideas under consideration! Would love to see your lists

Theragun (this I have bought already - managed to get one for under £100)

Xbox series X (hoping for another price drop)

iPad - his existing one is 5 years old and used daily

Nike Tech tracksuits / Fred Perry hoodie / Ralph Lauren tracksuit / Nike t shirts / Nike dri fit tracksuits

Fiddle cubes + toys

Home made sweets and crisps hamper

Crimpit

My plan with DS1 and his delicate little lego sets for Christmas has gone a little awry as he's broken his fingers...not a nice clean break either 😭

Oh no! 😟 hope he’s not in too much pain!

Oh no, just seen this. Poor thing, how did he do that? Does he have to have surgery?

MintJulia · 17/12/2023 08:30

I finally got ds(15) presents sorted yesterday.

Sessions with a personal trainer (his request)
Razor & shaving stuff
Joggy bottoms & t-shirt
Retro chrome alarm clock (he sleeps through his phone alarm)
Zip-neck cable sweater
Gaming headset with mike
Christmas socks
Chocolate Santa
Book token

BigBoysDontCry · 17/12/2023 09:00

Thanks folks, he's to see a consultant on Wednesday to decide on surgery but hopefully not. He caught his hand between a stock cage and a wall at work. It's his right hand. Fingers currently strapped together and local hospital said it's a bad break.

I mean, it's not life threatening and worse happens at sea, but it's just a bit of a pain (in more ways than one). We are already a busy household and now he can't drive, wash his hair (it's long) etc etc. DS2 home from uni tonight so hopefully he can help a bit.

Hoping it heals fast. 🤞

Poblano · 17/12/2023 11:26

DS1 and DS2 are 21 and 19. They are both away at university during term time. They both have:

A book
Pyjamas
Starbucks voucher
Fragrance
Toiletries gift set
Cocktails in a bottle
Posh Popcorn
Lindt Reindeer
Hotel Chocolat Penguins
Chocolate coins

This thread was a godsend!

Also.

I ordered crimpits at 3am this morning.

286NeuerNahhhhhhhhmen · 19/12/2023 07:47

Good luck for the appointment tomorrow @BigBoysDontCry

Oxonc3 · 29/12/2023 09:50

The pack of tortilla wraps I had in the cupboard are too small for the crimpit wrap, and my local shop has sold out of Thins… we are adapting to other bread types but with mixed success!

Gruelle · 29/12/2023 09:55

In the end I didn’t give the Crimpits to anyone. I didn’t think the actual objects would be appealing to the teens in my family.

So they’ve gone into my store of emergency gifts for wider family and friends.

<Vows to try harder to resist online Christmas shopping hysteria next year>

<Probably fails immediately.>

Tombero · 29/12/2023 12:22

Crimpit is a massive hit here. I find these threads invaluable. Thanks so much for everyone’s suggestions.

SpringingJoy · 29/12/2023 14:14

Crimpits were also a massive hit here with 15 and 13 year old ds's.

familyissues12345 · 29/12/2023 15:22

Crimpets have been popular here! Bit of a gimmick, but nice to have something a bit more fun under the tree other than the mountains of black, white and grey clothing... ConfusedGrin

belgiumchocolates · 29/12/2023 20:13

Echo great thread thanks so much for all the ideas I've pinched.

Croc headlights were the star of the show 😂

VanGoghsDog · 29/12/2023 22:57

Yeah, Croc headlights very popular here (both with adults). Crimpets went down OK.

I got DP the Lego shelf thing for a different thing he collects for which his shelf is out of space, I didn't realise it actually had Lego shelves to press the figurines onto but he's still happy with it and that it will work with his collection.

Catsfrontbum · 29/12/2023 23:47

Croc lights and fluffy crocs were a big hit here!
didn’t get the crumpit in the end- pleased about that.

the tap tap game was also a hit and the fidget spinner

that’s wise MN. And happy new year!

annabannan · 30/12/2023 23:51

The morphy Richards Mico toastie maker was a huge hit, we've all had them nearly every day. Seems pricy on the morphy Richards website but got at a good price on their tik tok selling page! Highly, highly recommend!

Sportycustard · 31/12/2023 12:01

The guitar teaspoons went down well with DS. He also got a crimpit which he liked and the other one went to DD's boyfriend who seemed happy with it, he's certainly experimenting with it according to DD.

Bought both DS and DD's bf top trumps games as a bit of a retro joke and they both loved them!

mamaduckbone · 01/01/2024 16:29

Thanks to whoever way back on this thread suggested the trainer balls - randomly big hit with the teens here!
Ds2 already has a crimpit so I couldn't jump on that bandwagon but this has been a great thread!
Same time same place next year please!

mylittleprince · 01/01/2024 16:35

With the crimpit - does anyone know how to stop the wrap opening in the air fryer ?

Why would it be in the air fryer?

Ds crimps to seal then takes out and puts on panini, in oven, or warms in a non stick frying pan (without oil), to heat the filling through/melt cheese (we dont have an air fryer). He hasnt had any problems with them opening yet.

This was with tesco waps and microwaving for a few seconds immediately before crimping.

ExplodingPuppies · 03/01/2024 23:47

Loving the Crimpets here - we have the thins one and one for wraps and enjoying trying out different fillings. We've mainly been using the toaster and a bit of frying to melt the cheese more.

Other hits for teen have been Herd Mentality game, clothes and shoes!
