I love the fact that the nn of the person who said this to me is @chocolateisavegetable - very apt!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Legami pens are in Between the Lines for £2.45. Selling well with the kids at secondary according to the till staff.

MamaClausToTheRescue · 17/11/2023 16:45

@NovemberRain23 thanks for this tip! My kids love Legami everything - it is very cute and they make a point of visiting the stores when we come across them in Europe. Closer to home you will probably find a Legami stand in your local Dobbies too if you want to browse.

Maranello · 17/11/2023 16:48

Dear @Reastie I'm thinking it might be a good idea if you're able to include the link to the referral thread in the opening post each time? Someone always asks!

The current one is here:

Thank you for your great services to Christmas!

Smileatthesmallthings · 17/11/2023 16:53

@PopcornAndGummyBears Put the paper in the freezer and it will reappear like magic as it disappears due to the heat:)

BeaLola · 17/11/2023 16:59

My nearest WHSmith had a range of the Legami pens, pots and notebooks

Smileatthesmallthings · 17/11/2023 17:02

Whilst googling legami pens I noticed Ryman have Black Friday sale on including Posca pens that people were asking after. I don't know if this is the best deal about but seems good.

Also a 16pen set for £19.99 instead of £39.99 apparently

Would anyone have any Argos code i could have? Needing to spend £100 x

ThreeRingCircus · 17/11/2023 17:28

An extra 20% off Hotter shoes in the sale on their website.

Chocolateteabag · 17/11/2023 17:49

LiverbirdNo1 · 17/11/2023 16:06

However if you know anyone who is a keen sewer/seamstress, the Pilot Frixion pens would be a nice little gift - I use them all the time to mark fabric and the marks just disappear when the garment is pressed!

@LiverbirdNo1 - I second this - the Frixxion erasable pens are brilliant for dressmaking/marking up fabric as the marks do just disappear.

But when you realise you've put your hot coffee mug on your notes, not so much!

KungFuDancing · 17/11/2023 17:51

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been wondering which to get and just ordered this.

Scoleah · 17/11/2023 17:54

Not sure if it's been posted, but the heated throws are £24.99 here
I've had 3 from here, lasted over 2 years & still going strong!

If anyone's DC like the YouTuber kreekcraft - the Black Friday sale is on
Not many items available, and shipping cost la from US quite steep, but bargain compared to usual prices

DS has two of the plushies and loves them

kreekshop.com/

My kids were big fans of kreek and I got them a personalised message via cameo - it's only a fiver but incredibly cool for them to receive

XmasShoppingsister · 17/11/2023 18:20

Can someone help me out with a charity present i need to buy. The info I have is that it's for an 11 year old girl who likes arts and crafts. Budget £20-25

I have no experience of 11 year old girls and worried about getting something too young/babyish or too old!

PopcornAndGummyBears · 17/11/2023 18:41

Thanks @Reastie for the new thread.

@MamaClausToTheRescue I could tell you all sorts of stories about those friction pens and pupils! I have 2 DC who love them so we do keep them in the house, but the other two never liked writing with them. I’ll need to wean the younger two off them before they get to GCSE years so they are used to other ones before exams!

I didn’t know that the disappearing ink would be reversed if you put it in the freezer - that’s very good to know!

PopcornAndGummyBears · 17/11/2023 18:47

@WhyDoesItAlways My 13 year olds received quilling sets at that age and they loved them. Pretty sure they were bought from Amazon.

Cotton Clara is also worth a look for really lovely embroidery sets - they are a wee bit different and some of the sets are cool wee slogans (I’m pretty sure there’s a SLAY one) which would go down well with teens/tweens. I know a school near me has used the small ones with their first formers (age 11/12) and I’ve had a few sets from them so can personally vouch for the very clear instructions and quality of the kits.

Sculpt It also do good kits, but not sure on the cost - they may be a bit over your budget. My DTs have had them in the last few years and liked them. They have also enjoyed resin jewellery kits which I’m pretty sure came from NOTHS.

@PolarStar Does this help:

Apparently Amazon have said, "If you purchase a product with the Black Friday Deal badge sold by Amazon from 17-27 November and the price drops further before 23:59 GMT on December 4, we'll automatically refund the difference! We’ll email you when we process your refund."

Helpful reminder for anyone purchasing any items on Amazon this week, if there is a BF deal badge on item page, it might be best to screenshot in case of it being disputed later.

Edited

Amazon are very good when it comes to this. I bought something a couple of months ago and had an email last week saying I was getting a refund as the price had dropped lower than it was when I bought it as a prime deal. I had the refund automatically within a couple of days - can’t fault them.

Thank you. I absolutely lived quilling when I was younger so will definitely look into that. I'll check out the embroidery too. Thanks

@CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay
That sounds absolutely great! My son would absolutely love that. Never heard of this before so thank you very much for mentioning it :)

We've got through this thread quickly but then it is Black Friday.

Has anyone bought an Oral B electric toothbrush from the iO range? They're so expensive so not sure they're worth it?
