I love the fact that the nn of the person who said this to me is @chocolateisavegetable - very apt!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Is there a trick to getting the £10 Bodyshop baskets reduced even further, or am I asking too much? Can't seem to get the referral codes to work for me and a bigger bargain would be even better!

does LYBC25 work?

Trumpton · 17/11/2023 09:56

@Christmasmcchristmasface

I bought 96 year old mil the set of tiny Bonne Maman jams. So a selection of effectively single servings. She loved them.
The Advent calendar is £33 from them with a free gift.

oooh but HERE Amazon are cheaper and they also have smaller sets.

Gobaith · 17/11/2023 09:57

@redjoker
Thank you...Looks like it's excluded as it's the £10 star gift . Still a bargain though and looks amazing!

yoshiblue · 17/11/2023 09:58

Lots of good deals on Argos re: discounted PlayStation console/game bundles and also games.

Got Hogwarts Legacy for under £30, so really happy.

Quidco have an opt in bonus £10 off a £50+ spend today on groceries, plus up to £9 cashback.

I think this could be used on the Nintendo Switch that I posted about yesterday, which is already down to £229 (or £279 for the OLED)!!

Go quick as it's first 3000 opt ins today only.

I was hoping The Body Shop would be doing their £5 body butters again, but it doesn’t look like it (or was that a January sale thing?)

Need some advice - I wanted the Fire HD 10 for DD but the only option in the colour she wants has ads. She’s 6 so I’m a little unsure if this is appropriate! Will there still be ads on the kids section?

DS7 has had a couple of fire tablets and honestly they are awful. So slow and under powered and so easy for little people to clog up with apps that are a bugger to remove. It also doesn't run some of the apps his school uses.

We're getting him a normal tablet, probably a Samsung for Christmas this year and will just put strict parental controls on it.

I second that, they are so so slow, just end up with a very frustrated child, they have no removable storage so get clogged up very fast

@OliverBabish
we got this last year and have had no issues

OliverBabish · 17/11/2023 10:33

Oh I might cry! I was dithering about the fire tabs and both of the options have gone up £20 from this morning! What the hell!

OliverBabish · 17/11/2023 10:38

@WhyDoesItAlways @redjoker just seen your replies! Thank you - I’ll have a look at Samsung then

MamaClausToTheRescue · 17/11/2023 10:39

I’ve been waiting for this offer - 25% off everything at Papier with the code FIRSTDIBS but you can also get £15 off £25 with a referral code - use a new email address if you’ve already done this - and by stacking both offers you’ll get a bargain.

I’ll be buying for myself and for gifts as they are really well received.

the personalised notebooks, list books and diaries are so beautiful and very high quality, and everyone I’ve bought for has gone on to buy more themselves.

referral codes can be found on the promos & referrals board - we’re now on thread 6.

hby9628 · 17/11/2023 10:39

Thank you to whoever was the person who posted about the Apothecary sets. I've just picked up mine & they are massive! What a beautiful gift.

I would be tempted to wait until next week, this black friday is a con. The one I sent you was £20 cheaper yesterday :|

MamaClausToTheRescue · 17/11/2023 10:40

Apols - the referral code is for £10 off I think but more info on the other board.

psuedocream3 · 17/11/2023 08:25

@Blessedbethefruitz I would go for the Meta Quest 2 personally currently £249.99 with free £50 amazon gift card. The benefit of this one is that its an all in one system, you dont need wires connected to a computer to run it, and you can download the games straight to the headset. Only thing is you must have a Facebook account to use it.

I bought my husband this one a year or so ago, I'm secretly hoping hes buying me one this year as I want to play Green Hell VR but I don't think he will. The quest 3 is a better experience but It's alot of extra money which I couldn't justify.

My dds have been after 1. I wanted to buy second hand but they aren't much cheaper on eBay. How much are the games? Assume you download them? Thanks.

PolarStar · 17/11/2023 10:43

I'm after an Amazon Echo Speaker for my husbands present, it's 25% off today for Black Friday but I was hoping for more! Should I hold my nerve or order today?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 17/11/2023 10:51

Kids have been watching all the viral videos and want to tried freeze dried sweets. Anyone got any recommendations for companies etc?

psuedocream3 · 17/11/2023 10:51

@blackfluffycat You download games from the meta store, if you are cionnecting via a pc you can use STEAM as well I believe, but don't quote me on that.

There is some free content, games from the store look like anywhere from £7.99 upwards, some around £22.99 and big name games around £35ish. There is a referal programme where you both get £23 credit for the referal so effectively a free game.

Cubic · 17/11/2023 10:54

Just had an email cancelling my bodyshop order for the £10 gift basket. I'd ordered to store so not sure if that played a part. Just tried to reorder for delivery and it's oos.
