Have I missed the Hallmark/Netflix/ Amazon prime thread on all those cheesy Prince from (insert unlikely name for snowy European country) meets girl from New York films?

Anyone share my guilty pleasure of these so awful they’re good films?

please tell me I’m not the only one here.

I watched the bishop's wife last night - 1947, Cary Grant and David Niven.

I watched The Christmas Note (Prime) tonight. Was good- a totally different take on a Christmas themed movie. Quite a few familiar faces (if you watch Virgin River and other shows!)

Just watched Road to Christmas. It was brilliant!

About a TV producer who has to work with the son of her boss. Honestly, it's a step up from Chad Michael Murray's usual Christmas fare.

On Prime.

This made me laugh tonight

That is brilliant Grin

I watched The Christmas Doctor on Sky Christmas this morning. It was a delicious film...no hateful, rude characters, no villain, no misunderstanding that leads to a falling out on,y to be quickly resolved...

The two leads were fun and had chemistry and I even had a little tear during one moment.

Oooh following! I'm (very impatiently) holding out for Friday!!

ParadiseLaundry · 29/11/2023 18:14

Re Snow Globe Christmas
'Good news! It’s available on demand until January so you should be able to just download it to your Sky box🎅'

@Talisin I've tried to find it on sky On Demand but I've had no luck 😔 could you please tell me what part you went on to find it? Admittedly I'm not great at navigating since we got the new box. If I get it then you'll have saved Christmas 🎄 Grin

CandyLeBonBon · 29/11/2023 19:33

Has anyone mentioned Holiday in the wild on Netflix yet? I'm loving it!

EwwSprouts · 29/11/2023 19:34

@witchypaws Love it 😂

I found it via the old Sky app, but having looked again just now it has gone from on demand and is now only available to rent or buy. However! ITVX now has it to stream for free so Christmas can still be saved!

ParadiseLaundry · 30/11/2023 06:01

Ahhhhhhhh! You absolute beaut @Talisin!

You have, indeed, saved Christmas! Thank you very much!

'Next Stop, Christmas' is on (again) today, on Christmas 24.

For those who like films with dodgy accented Princes Grin- 'Christmas with a Prince' is on Great! Movies later. It's been on a few times- humble children's doctor who somehow end up treating him on her ward over Christmas. The actor who plays the prince is terrible iirc, wooden as a plank. But it passes an hour or two. There are two sequels to this one , as well Grin.

I just (re)watched Christmas with a Prince last night and the second one straight after. First one still as bad as I remember but the second one is hilarious due to the OTT villainess and her ultimate defeat - being thoroughly told off by her mum!😆Have searched for the the third one but no one seems to have the rights to it over here 😒

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 30/11/2023 13:30

Dh loves the Princess Switch ones with Vanessa Hudgens and watches them every year. They are cheesy shite but he makes me watch too 😂

SequinsandStiIettos · 30/11/2023 17:51

The Family Switch is now on Netflix. Ho! ho! ho!

IceAndLemonPlease · 30/11/2023 17:54

‘A glenbrooke Christmas ‘. Enjoyed this one!

EwwSprouts · 30/11/2023 22:23

Just watched a Christmas Catch. No cookie making, felt a bit more modern and humorous. I enjoyed it.

SequinsandStiIettos · 01/12/2023 06:07

Yeesh, the family switch was a bit shit. I did laugh once but that's not a lot for two hours.

AndThenTheWolvesCame · 01/12/2023 13:11

IceAndLemonPlease · 01/12/2023 17:19

Hail out the Holly. Was just ok

IceAndLemonPlease · 01/12/2023 17:19

Haul out the Holly I meant !

burnoutbabe · 01/12/2023 18:23

Christmas house 2 is in Christmas 24! Friday 3pm

I liked last years one, parents in their 60s who I think wanted to separate and a tv producer son and his brother who was trying to adopt with his partner.

Happy days!

Mountaindhew · 01/12/2023 20:37

I watched Marry me at Christmas (prime) today and loved it!

Raahh · 02/12/2023 12:58

One of my favourite films is on this afternoon this (E4/Virgin channel 106) I class it as as 'Tier 2'- it's not in the 'Elf' 'It's a Wonderful Life' classic category- and it's not quite Hallmark Cliche'Grin

it's 'Deck the Halls' - but the Danny de Vito/ Matthew Broderick one (there are confusingly a few with this title)- where they compete over Christmas lights . It is daft, I've seen it it about twice a year in the 17 years since it came out- but I love it Grin.
