Have I missed the Hallmark/Netflix/ Amazon prime thread on all those cheesy Prince from (insert unlikely name for snowy European country) meets girl from New York films?

Anyone share my guilty pleasure of these so awful they’re good films?

please tell me I’m not the only one here.

You're not the only one! I flick around That's Christmas, Great Christmas, Christmas24, Christmas24+ and the afternoon films on Channel 5. I love how all the films have the exact same storyline,😂

WhatWouldHopperDo · 10/11/2023 15:50

Love these! Also small town films where local girl comes
back from the big city and falls back in love with her high school sweetheart.

Christmas in the Smokies is one of my favourites.

burnoutbabe · 10/11/2023 16:14

I am m following hallmark on Facebook but that's often usa only.

I have a whole load wish listed

Where nice young men go homr for Xmas and meet up with their pjs high school boyfriend.

Much prefer it with 2 cute boys to watch.

Star0Fire · 10/11/2023 16:15

Me too. Sometimes the same actors too.

Following!

Enderunicorn · 10/11/2023 17:06

I very guiltily enjoyed 'Falling for Christmas' on Netflix at the weekend...

countdowntonap · 10/11/2023 17:10

I’m watching ‘A Christmas Karen’ on Prime 🤣

MrsMitford3 · 10/11/2023 17:14

Currently watching The Holiday because I thought I could pretend it wasn't really a christmas film!!

Love them all-cheesier the better. My fav bit of all the made up European counties is that they pretend each other exist. Like Queen Amber seriously worst Queen name ever went to a wedding in another film

kittythames · 10/11/2023 17:17

I love them too. Every Sunday morning after Halloween DH makes breakfast in bed and we chill out with a cheesy Christmas movie. It's bliss.

Jessforless · 10/11/2023 17:18

Following as well! This is just the thread I need 🎄

There was one on Ch5 a few weeks ago about a wealthy man who time travelled into the future and met the love of his life. It was so good I watched the last hour again on 5+1. I love the idyllic small town settings, that I wish existed in real life.

That was lovely and another time travel one I liked was with Candace Cameron Bure in the role. It was WW2 and she travelled to 2010s I think it was

popandchoc · 10/11/2023 18:23

Love them . There is someone on tiktok that does 1 min versions of the films , the love interest is always called Luke haha .

That film is brilliant! It's so bad it's good! I love it!

Ibizabar · 10/11/2023 18:28

I love them. The fake snow, the Christmas tree farms, the Christmas jumpers and Christmas cookie making. The will she go back to her high flying career in the big city or stay in the small town with her high school sweetheart who she left heartbroken years ago

mondaytosunday · 10/11/2023 18:45

Yes there is a thread, I actually screenshot the list of one poster on October 20. Sorry don't have a link

scrivette · 10/11/2023 18:50

I like the Cheesy Netflix ones, looking forward to seeing what they come up with this year.

I really enjoyed Love Hard!

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 10/11/2023 18:56

I watched A Southern Family Christmas on Christmas 24 yesterday.
I don't normally like Christmas films that don't involve snow but it was about a woman meeting her long list dad, all the characters were likeable and it was a nice storyline.

Snorklette · 10/11/2023 18:57

Joining! Joining! I started last week and watched The Holidate Grin. Also loved Love Hard last year, and that one with Asa Butterfield. Am off to Prime to check out The Karen one ! They are all the same, the quirky hotel in danger of closure, the heartwarming small town, a billionaire with amnesia, a range of excellent bobble hats, the rediscovering of Christmas spirit, followed by a Misunderstanding. And finally, they kiss <usually with one leg cocked > and it snows. The End.

HermioneWeasley · 10/11/2023 19:15

“A castle for Christmas” with Brooke Shields on Netflix

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 10/11/2023 19:23

DH is a big burly hgv driver.
He is a closet cheesy Christmas film lover. I often find him on a Sunday afternoon, in front the tv, glued of one of these.

Ibizabar · 10/11/2023 19:33

My adult DS came round while I was watching one about a failing Christmas tree farm which was in danger of being bulldozed by an evil property developer. He was all WTF are you watching, mum. By the end of the film he was rooting for the handsome lawyer and bobble hatted woman who were trying to save it.

Raahh · 10/11/2023 19:36

I am guilty of watching Christmas films all year around,( and have seen all the Hallmark/Christmas 24 films more times than enough now. Hallmark do 'Christmas in July' so I watched them them too Grin.

JewelleryCat I actually have that CCB film recorded and watch it quite a lot Blush - it's called 'Journey Back to Christmas'

LegendsBeyond · 10/11/2023 19:37

Just watched Christmas in Vienna, which is certainly cheesy. I love the Mrs Miracle films.
