A large plushie, switch game, an air up, making a rope swing, grown up lego, an oodie, a penknife, beano subscription (it's his birthday too)

Bowtied · 29/09/2023 20:21

So far I’m thinking of a bubble tea making kit and a new onesie.
following for more inspiration

Stompythedinosaur · 29/09/2023 20:43

So far we have tickets to Wicked, a cat shaped gem shelf, a mocktail book, calligraphy pens, a headphone headband (comfy for listening to audio books at night), a nano block red panda, a Borgins and Burke's t-shirt and some books (The Hunger Games series and Tress of the Emerald Seas.

I am thinking of a laptop as a fairly big gift, because I think she'll need it for school next year.

Ds loves bubble tea. What kit are you looking at?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 29/09/2023 21:24

No idea so following for ideas!

A few thoughts I've had as a main present for my DD:
Sewing machine
Drawing tablet
Fitbit
Earbuds...
...but none feel quite right at the moment.

She had her birthday recently and tickets to see Six the musical went down a storm. She absolutely loved it!
A resin kit was a hit as well.

She's become very into make-up and skincare and I've found a nice storage unit which she might like.
A silk pillow case but it's not exactly going to bring the wow-factor so might go in stocking instead.

Stocking is pretty much sorted. She's got:
Perfume
Heatless hair curling set
Face mask
Earrings
Mini 'confidence' book
Instax mini film
Puzzles for spies book
Lip balm
Baking bits
New Lottie Brooks book
Bits for resin jewellery making
Chocolate

Ds is getting a laptop plus accessories, clothes, microscope, pjs, murder mystery cold case thing, switch game, new blanket, bubble tea set (just need to find one pp has mentioned) and some cash.

Bowtied · 29/09/2023 21:57

Bubble panda keeps coming up on my Facebook feed but there are quite a few around online

Jayney2 · 29/09/2023 22:11

My 11 year old wants a VR headset, a big squishmallow and a jewellery box.

Qwerty1837 · 29/09/2023 22:16

Iv got my DD so far…

Dior mascara
laneige lip mask

Couple of new look tops

Lol, that's my favourite threat too!

SilverCatStripes · 29/09/2023 22:34

Christ is this what you want to instil in your 11 year olds ?? Make up and clothes ?? What are you teaching them - a woman’a primary objective is to look pleasing. What a crock.

Let me guess - “it’s all they’ve asked for” or “ they’ve outgrown their toys “.

Nah, they are still kids and you need to allow them to be kids still. Go and buy your children some toys.

DresdenDoll · 29/09/2023 22:43

DS will be nearly 11 and has asked for an electric guitar, a skateboard, crystals, a perplexus ball and a wood whittling kit.

looking4pup · 30/09/2023 00:14

@SilverCatStripes Times have changed. This is the first year dd11 hasn't asked for a toy. My dd13 stopped playing with toys age 8. She wants skincare. Yes seems odd but most pre teens are into that now.

Name a toy that an 11 year old would happily play with?

smilesup · 30/09/2023 00:21

Having spoken to her she wants to do more things than have more things. She has lots of clothes, art stuff and toys.
So I am planning things to do: afternoon tea, Alton towers and a sea side trip. These will be represented by a tea cup (charity shop), a toy slide (from her Playmobil set)and a spade (we already have!). Will also get her a hoodie, and a couple of second hand books from vinted.
Fed up with buying new stuff that will end up in landfill in 10 years and costs a bomb. It's all forget ina couple of weeks.

cocksstrideintheevening · 30/09/2023 00:22

Skincare - Dts wish lists are high end and yes they've already written them 🤦🏻‍♀️

TadpolesInPool · 30/09/2023 02:40

12th birthday he got an ipad and books for his kindle (literally all he got).

Ideas for this Christmas:
Messenger bag
Nice shower gel
Aftershave (we live in a very hot country. He is very conscious of smelling)
DvD of Bottom

Other than that it will be trips out as a family cos we really don't need any more stuff.

Previous hits in the past year include a Darth Vadar shaped phone holder. Meant to hold phone whilst charging. Perfect for holding phone whilst watching videos. Also for leaning kindle against. The whole family keeps nicking it.

EquinoxVOx · 30/09/2023 06:09

Some fabulous ideas here, just to add silk pillow, satin pj's and robucks.

Now I'm looking into heatless hair curler which sound fabulous.

EquinoxVOx · 30/09/2023 06:12

We got bubble panda tea sets last year and they absolutely loved them 10 year old and teen

PuttingDownRoots · 30/09/2023 06:15

DD has asked for contributions towards a school trip she wants to go on and a Scout trip to Poland. Actually quite proud she realises these things do cost a lot of money.

She wants some more Harry Potter lego for her collection.
A few books.
A board game

Apart from that .. not sure really!

Her 10yo sister is slightly easier... there's some rugby training kit she'd like.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 30/09/2023 07:04

DS is 11 and wants Lego for Christmas. Again.
VR headset for the Switch is a good idea though.

Il guess that’s aimed at me as there are no toys on my list….. I Think you need to get with the times.

My daughters 12 and in year 8. She doesn’t want toys. She wants skincare and a posh mascara, fancy clothing etc

I don’t think she’s trying to look pleasing for people either…. More like fit in with her peers.. Hence the Nike socks and labelled stuff.

Il get whatever makes my daughter happy, not what you deem fit.

If it pleases you though she is also getting some Harry Potter lego.

Sugarfree23 · 30/09/2023 07:20

DS 12 nearly 13, needs a new phone, wants more lego and I'm struggling for other ideas. And I know the questions are GPs etc are coming soon

Girls seem so much easier to get ideas for.
@SilverCatStripes what toys would you buy an 11 or 12yo?

BooAutumniscoming · 30/09/2023 07:47

Ds has asked for a surprise so I'm not sure yet. The last 2 years he asked for surprises and I managed to pull off some really big surprises.

All I am thinking at the minute is phone/laptop/kindle. If I can't think of anything else, it will have to be onethose those.

Martin83 · 30/09/2023 07:51

We gave Apple Watch for the 12th birthday. For the past month he can't stop talking about it, absolutely loves it.
