12 year old DD

Ive managed to bag Olivia Rodrigo tickets, so excited to give those to her
Apart from that her list is very make up and skin care orientated too
Also some art supplies

DeathMetalMum · 30/09/2023 07:57

Following for ideas. We have dd's 10&12 (11&13 beginning of next year). We were lucky enough to get tickets for Olivia Rodrigo tour next year so that will be a main present.

I think dd2 would like the Hogwarts game for the switch.

Dd1 would like some sort of hair curlers, she likes puzzles so will get a new puzzle or two, but other than that we have no ideas.

The smyths toy catalogue arrived this week and neither have been particularly interested in anything. While they still play with toys occasionally, certainly not enough to warrant spending ££ on something for Christmas they've not shown any interest in.

WinchSparkle80 · 30/09/2023 08:00

My DD12 is autistic and very immature but even she has asked for an eye shadow pallette.

She also would love the bubble tea kit. Thank you for suggesting this all!

I have a 11DS and 12DD

Gifts that have gone down well.

Driving lesson
Robux
Costa Card
Tickets for theme parks
Oodies
Double ended colouring pens - best ones in B&M in a box

Are the air ups any good?

Christ is this what you want to instil in your 11 year olds ?? Make up and clothes ?? What are you teaching them - a woman’a primary objective is to look pleasing. What a crock.

Let me guess - “it’s all they’ve asked for” or “ they’ve outgrown their toys “.

Nah, they are still kids and you need to allow them to be kids still. Go and buy your children some toys.

You don't have a pre-teen clearly.

twistyizzy · 30/09/2023 08:01

A real mix but so far not 1 main item:
New pair riding tights, oodie, a boxset of a particular book series, ear pods, hair curlers. Them there will be a lego set of some description and Hogwart's Legacy game.

We gave Apple Watch for the 12th birthday. For the past month he can't stop talking about it, absolutely loves it.

My daughter had one for her 11th birthday. She’s used it everyday since. One of the most used presents she ever had along with her phone and AirPods 😂

SunflowersAndSmellyTrainers · 30/09/2023 08:04

An electric guitar
Some bath b0mbs
Tickets to see their fave band in the new year

fourelementary · 30/09/2023 08:04

DS will be 11 in October so I think he might get a PS5 as a joint present for Xmas then… and when we are in London early Dec he will get to choose a pair of football boots in Nike Town so his Xmas day pile will consist of dairy free goodies, a metronome, a new ps5 game, some manga books in the series he likes, a new cuddly toy as he still loves his plushies and some clothes- sports stuff no doubt. Might add in a few bits and pieces we’d need to buy for his hobbies anyway to bulk it out.

Both DC are getting a new suitcase packed with new summer clothes, local currency and a book about Mayan history. Hopefully this won't be a disappointment because the real "present" is that we're taking them on holiday to Mexico. They've wanted to go for years, it's been planned for ages and I'm bursting with excitement but we won't tell them until Christmas Day.

That's awesome! Have an amazing holiday.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 30/09/2023 08:12

@SilverCatStripes, buying toys for most 11/12-year-olds would be like pouring money down the drain. My DD has a lot of toys but I'm not going to add to them when she's growing out of them, doesn't play with them and doesn't want them. She'd be gutted on Christmas morning. Why would I do that?

That sounds lovely. Have a blast! Mexico is great.

This has some nice ideas for smaller bits

So far we have tickets to Wicked, a cat shaped gem shelf, a mocktail book, calligraphy pens, a headphone headband (comfy for listening to audio books at night), a nano block red panda, a Borgins and Burke's t-shirt and some books (The Hunger Games series and Tress of the Emerald Seas.

I am thinking of a laptop as a fairly big gift, because I think she'll need it for school next year.

Which mocktail book have you gone for? DS would love this.

SherlocksDeerstalker · 30/09/2023 08:28

I got my two oodies last Xmas when they were 8 and 11 and honestly they’ve not had them off their backs since! I’ve had the peel the 9 year old out of hers sweating some nights! I got them on a BOGOF so we’re decent value and very well used. I kept nicking tbt eldest so they bought me my own for Mother’s Day this year.

My 12yo will be getting a new guitar for birthday right before Xmas. I’ll take her to choose her own. Also getting her Lucy and Yak dungarees in bright purple and a matching bum bag (she’s a bit alternative looking and not so much into the Nike Pro look), and she’s also asked for a zoo keeper for a day experience at our local zoo.

Ill be getting odds and ends to go with, eg a make up palette, lots of books as she’s an avid reader (maze runner series and divergent series currently on the list) and probably some baking supplies and the new Janes Patisserie book.

liveforsummer · 30/09/2023 08:56

My DD's are easy as they horse ride so there is always some they need/want. So all the fashion stuff listed but in overpriced horsey brands 😆Will add bubble tea, skin care, a few clothes, body spray or perfume. The pp demanding we buy toys will be horrified. They still have unbuilt Lego sitting from last year so I'm afraid I'm not going to waste the money

twistyizzy · 30/09/2023 08:58

@liveforsummer so basically just the whole of the Le Mieux/Aztec Diamond catalogues 🤣🤣?

liveforsummer · 30/09/2023 09:00

smilesup · 30/09/2023 00:21

Having spoken to her she wants to do more things than have more things. She has lots of clothes, art stuff and toys.
So I am planning things to do: afternoon tea, Alton towers and a sea side trip. These will be represented by a tea cup (charity shop), a toy slide (from her Playmobil set)and a spade (we already have!). Will also get her a hoodie, and a couple of second hand books from vinted.
Fed up with buying new stuff that will end up in landfill in 10 years and costs a bomb. It's all forget ina couple of weeks.

I love the idea of the little objects to signify the event. I went through a few years of getting my girls experiences/holidays and they loved it.

WoodenRecorder · 30/09/2023 09:16

A full size violin, books, voucher for her favourite clothes shop, earrings, stationary, new trainers.

For dd2. Dd1 is the youngest of the teens at the yard. They are all in to Holland Cooper 🙄😅

HashtagDerekSays · 30/09/2023 11:14

DS 11 will get more art supplies to open, Marvel funko pops, a few comics and maybe a cinema voucher. Im just going to put snacks in his stocking and he wants vbucks.

Madwife123 · 30/09/2023 11:43

My 11 year DD is getting

Taylor swift tickets
Lego set
Trainers
Air up

And after that I’m a bit stuck. She’s not into toys, has more books than I can fit in her room already and doesn’t really have many hobbies as she’s autistic. Watching this thread for ideas.

lemonyellows · 30/09/2023 11:55

My DS12 has on his list:
Squishmallow pikachu
Funko pops
Football kits (I get from DHgate)

EquinoxVOx · 30/09/2023 14:22

My dd still loves slime and most of her friends do...

I'm definitely getting her slime and she still loves playing waitress.

Baboutheocelot · 30/09/2023 14:37

An atlas of unusual borders- he’s really in to maps.
ipad pen
lego calendar
new desk chair
sweets and chocolate
