Hi everyone.

I know there are threads that go on RE Christmas present ideas, but personally I find it hard to skim through these to get ideas (as it descends into chat IMO). I also think it would be good to have a thread for only adult present ideas/ deals.

I would love for this thread to only have links and descriptions posted so its easier to scroll through and find good ideas (no comments)Grin

I'll go first - here are some of my ideas already:
Chillys bottle currently £4 off
Big bobble hats (not on offer but very cool idea IMO)
Xmas bauble with family faces in
Powder (fire safe) candle
(not linked) but portable chargers are handy to have
These Lulu lemon mens boxers which I bought for my partner to do sport and he absolutely swears by them
Adult lego - specifically linked this one as I think it's incredibleGrin

Any reciprocated ideas/help hugely appreciated 🙏

EDIT: please don't comment to follow the thread but instead click 'watch thread'

There are big discounts on Oodies now if anyone hasn't got one!
I have bought 2 DS's bracelets from pig and hen
They are beautifully made and discounted at the moment
I have my eye on one for myself this year

I am side eying the outdoors oodie!

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 17:07

@Kaisawheel does your Dad like to make things? An Airfix kit might be good.

ambitchious · 01/10/2023 17:18

@Kaisawheel non alcoholic beer?

PutYourBackIntoit · 01/10/2023 17:30

Thank you for this thread!
I have bought some rum from Trumbling madness, that will remind my fil of his time living on a specific Caribbean island, plus a very pretty pint glass for my friend, of her favourite beer.

Facetheory are doing 20% off now using the code AUTUMN20, plus a free gift worth circa £15 if you spend £50. Free delivery over £25.

They do my 'go to' moisturiser, I have tried so many over the years and the Cera quench one they do is just perfect for my skin, so whenever they have discounts I bulk buy. I've also ordered some bath oil to try this time, although I doubt anything can beat REN morrocan rose bath oil, but it's a bit too pricey to buy it for myself.

Mushroom growing kit I suggested these upthread but didn't have a link. I think this is the brand I bought for some friends last year. They really enjoyed them (or lied to my face 🤣)

https://shop.grocycle.com/products/grocycle-mushroom-kit

@Kaisawheel perhaps your Dad would enjoy growing them in his shed and then cooking with them?

Any ideas for gifts for Dads? He has cancer so can’t drink anymore due to his meds (previously would have got him a beer subscription) and can’t travel too far. Into rugby but doesn’t have the patience to read any sports personality biographies for example. Quite crap with technology, but is into cooking?
He does have a “beer shed” that has a pool table and likes spending time in there?

Edited

If he can’t read the biographies, would he be interested in listening to them? If they did an audiobook version? Maybe a nice restaurant voucher?

ThomasinaLivesHere · 01/10/2023 18:31

Body Shop have a great sale on just now. If you spend over £40 you get 25% off with code THRIVE ends in just over a day. I just bought one of their advent calendars for someone.

Also my 19 year old DD loves all the Jellycat amuseables range so I’ll be getting her one of those for her stocking.

EllaMaeve · 01/10/2023 20:08

I'd really like a gift idea that I can use to give money. Something a bit more exciting than a money wallet.

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 20:19

@EllaMaeve you can get puzzle things that are like a safe that you have to solve to open. I don't know if that would work to put money in?

Puffalicious · 29/09/2023 21:54

I recommended this on the Christmas threads last year & loads of folk bought it. I absolutely swear by it. My hairdresser suggested this years ago & I use nothing else after washing.

It is so effective, lasts forever & smells divine. A wonderful present a friend may never have heard of & wouldn't buy for themselves.

It's too expensive right now, but comes down to around £10 regularly, and was as low as £7 on Amazon last year. You can find it elsewhere too (I buy direct from hairdresser).

I bought this on your recommendation last Christmas for myself! It's so lovely! I had about a third left come holiday time so I added a wee bit of water and some sun tan lotion. Voila! My own beach spray fir my hair! All my friends and of course dd were wanting to use it! Stopped my hair from being bleached and frazzled while smelling fab! Will be buying agin when it goes back down in price! Will buy 2 - 1 for hols!

The society tend to do a special offer kit in October that's always a nice gift

Might get one of these for ds. His favourite curry if the good old chicken tikka masala do you know if/which one of these kits includes that recipe? They dont list the recipes in the kits and I cant find online.

clpsmum · 01/10/2023 22:11

@Blanketpolicy I've just got into bed but I'll check my kits in the morning and let you know xx

Was coming on to suggest that exact hori hori knife! I love mine and have bought it for loads of gardener friends/family.

Fuckingfuckssake · 01/10/2023 23:08

@Kaisawheel what about a last orders bell for his shed? You can get personalised ones.

Vetoncall · 02/10/2023 00:06

@MotherWol thanks for the peanut butter selection box recommendation! Just ordered one for (PB obsessed) DP, he'll absolutely love it.

He also loves really hot chilli sauces, I got him a selection from https://blackfirefood.com/ and https://www.rockadoodledo.com/ last Christmas which went down well.

My DM adores scented candles and I'd highly recommend St Eval or Leo & Lyn which are handmade here in NI. The Helen's Bay and North Coast scents are beautiful:

@EllaMaeve what about an exploding gift boxes They’re cheaper on Ali Express than amazon

Borris · 02/10/2023 08:38

I love the idea of an airpod to track your luggage. Think my dad would be over the moon with that. Does anyone know if the official apple ones are significantly better than the other cheaper brands? It would be to track with an iPhone

CornishGem1975 · 02/10/2023 12:00

Love this thread, I've saved so many ideas!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 02/10/2023 14:00

@Borris
My 3 all have the Apple AirTags with their iPhones
