Hi everyone.

I know there are threads that go on RE Christmas present ideas, but personally I find it hard to skim through these to get ideas (as it descends into chat IMO). I also think it would be good to have a thread for only adult present ideas/ deals.

I would love for this thread to only have links and descriptions posted so its easier to scroll through and find good ideas (no comments)Grin

I'll go first - here are some of my ideas already:
Chillys bottle currently £4 off
Big bobble hats (not on offer but very cool idea IMO)
Xmas bauble with family faces in
Powder (fire safe) candle
(not linked) but portable chargers are handy to have
These Lulu lemon mens boxers which I bought for my partner to do sport and he absolutely swears by them
Adult lego - specifically linked this one as I think it's incredibleGrin

Any reciprocated ideas/help hugely appreciated 🙏

EDIT: please don't comment to follow the thread but instead click 'watch thread'

I just received the square scarf and brooch I ordered from Fable for my mum. They are both beautiful.

My mum is that age when she doesn’t want any more ornaments or clutter and she can’t be trusted with candles. I think the rest of her pressie will be naice chocolate.

I have ordered a leaf blower/sucker for DH. £75 on Amazon.

shash1982 · 04/10/2023 19:22

Might be an idea, if you sign up to the urban outfitters app they send you a 10% off code.
Older teen DD loves that shop!

The glossy box boxes are good to split across stockings, I'm doing them for teens and MIL.

Tesco had bounty only chocolate boxes similar to the celebrations tubs for £4.50, they're proving difficult to track down though!

ambitchious · 04/10/2023 20:01

Love them! Thank you.

Callipygion · 04/10/2023 21:07

My (seconds) ‘Turtle Doves’ recycled-cashmere fingerless gloves arrived today. I ordered 4 and got cream, royal blue, brown & pale grey - would have liked brighter colours to be honest but it’s a random selection so it is what it is. Two have small gaps in the seams, so easily fixed, and one is a bit bobbly, can’t see what’s wrong with the other one. Lovely and soft, I like them.

GettingStuffed · 05/10/2023 15:58

I'd forgotten DDs Christmas present, the Dookie anniversary set. Ideal for Green Day fans that you want to spend just over £50 on

Travelcrazy · 05/10/2023 17:01

Are the chocolate bars on the Viking website full size or fun size please?

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 05/10/2023 17:24

@Travelcrazy if no one answers within a couple of hours, I'll dive into the back of my Christmas stash cupboard and have a look for you. Remember to use TopCashBack if you decide to get them!

BestofLuck · 05/10/2023 18:06

Fabulous ideas on here. So great if you’ve older children as well as other adults to buy for.

Am loving the jellyfish air plants - my DS will love one of them!

@LaurieStrode thank you for sharing your fabulous ideas. You’ve inspired me to take off from my fridge a list of plants my dad had written out when he redesigned my front garden for me a few years back. It will stop it fading and if I put it away may make a lovely memento in years to come.

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 06/10/2023 13:05

Re: Viking site, Nestle Big Biscuit Box, 71 bars.
@Travelcrazy the KitKats are normal size, the others just shorter. Biro for visual size guide!

I just discovered this online shop - https://www.sportpursuit.com/ - they have loads of good brands of outdoor and sports clothing and kit at big reductions from normal prices. It all seems to be current stuff too.

Yes sportpursuit is great. I've bought from there many times, it is perfectly fine. Useful for gifts for sports fans but also just for yourself! Some nice non-sports clothing too. I'm currently curled up in a lovely fluffy hoodie and I've got a nice Dale of Norway jumper I got several years ago. I've got lots of pairs of lovely vivovarefoot shoes including ankle boots etc all from there so at normal shoe prices rather than ridiculously expensive.

Oooh! I love Vivobarefoot. Thank you for the heads up, will be checking it out.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 10/10/2023 21:43

Things tend to come up in flash sales so it's a good idea to sign up and then you'll get the emails son you know when specific brands are up.

BonjourCrisette · 10/10/2023 21:44

Thank you for the tip!

@ShouldGoToBed that's brilliant thank you

drspouse · 11/10/2023 09:02

If you have a bread baker or sourdough lover in your life this is one of the best things I've ever bought DH.

That's amazing! I'm sold.

As a bread maker myself, one of the best gifts I ever got for it was the Lekue silicone bowl from Lakeland. You can measure, mix, knead and bake in it. Game -changer!

shash1982 · 11/10/2023 17:50

Love the bread knife, debating whether to get one for DH.

Recommended on the bargain thread was the website Notino.
Just ordered a woodwick candle for just over half price and some beauty bits.
Sorry if you're all on that thread and know already, I was just well chuffed and had to share!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 11/10/2023 18:18

Bread knife on my list for dh.

Quite local and niche but any fossil geeks, the Yorkshire Natural History Museum has a fossil prep lab and you can book time in there. One of my teens has done it but would be brilliant for adults too.

Hedjwitch · 11/10/2023 20:04

If you have Amazon Prime there are some really good deals today. Bought two Hotel Chocolat Sleekster sets for the DDs and contemplating some rum for DS.

BlowingAway · 16/10/2023 22:19

Brilliant thread thanks.
I've added loads to my list of possible presents.

For campers I recommend a Kelly Kettle

For creatives, I've bought metallic watercolours from this brand before and they are the best. Super sparkly. Watercolours.

Ultimate Base Camp Kit

Can anyone recommend a Star Wars present for an adult please.
Its for my aunt in her 70s who loves them. A difficult person to buy for as doesn't need anything and hates clutter. Alas, it needs to be small but meaningful.

Have you looked on Etsy? There are lots of Star Wars themed things, many of which are relatively small. These are both great, I think, both small and either useful or don't take up much space:

Thank you so much! I've just ordered the plaque. It's perfect!
