Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

Thanks @Reastie !

How is it that time already??!

Things are super tight this year and the wee peas are getting older and more specific in their demands (damn puppets definitely not going to cut it!) so I'm settling in for the long haul and waiting for the brilliant suggestions to come flooding in...with fingers crossed as always for some kind of free gin glitch!

Merry shopping everyone...🎅🏻

I have read the how to do clicky links instructions a dozen times....and am no wiser. Is it me? I cant work it out at all from whats been written

So you are using these at the beginning [[

And then at the end, using these ]]

In between them, you are putting the link, immediately after the first brackets.
Then a space, then the word you want to be blue and clicky, then close the brackets with no space. Hope that helps?! You can preview your message to check it’s worked first.

Hedjwitch · 07/09/2023 21:24

Thats much clearer,thank you.

sorryiasked · 07/09/2023 21:25

@Hedjwitch like the attached

@Reastie Perhaps we could put an image in the opening posts?

Thank you. I’d looked at this site before but never used it. Have just ordered some gifts for christmas

KissingUnderTheMistletoe · 07/09/2023 21:32

Hello!! I have been in here for the last four years or so and cannot remember my usernames (so many changes!). Created a new one especially for this time of year!!

Thanks Restie!

I have two young boys and no idea what
they may want at all. Hoping to be inspired!

SpanishSummer · 07/09/2023 21:34

All I do to post a link is copy and paste. Seems to work.

YorkshireWelsh · 07/09/2023 21:39

Thanks for putting this thread together (and all the prequels!). I just stumbled across the prequels recently so now kicking myself that I didn’t know about the thread in previous years!

Am on the lookout for the best price on a Pikachu squishmallow (out of interest, does a Mario/Luigi one exist??) for my DS if anyone knows of anything! They’re full price everywhere I can see…I’d love to get him the 50cm one but I’m not paying £1/cm for a soft toy (partly because DH might pass out!) 😂

WetFlump · 07/09/2023 21:41

sweet shop argos £5. Not a bad gift if you add in a bag of sweets 🤷🏼‍♀️

Love this time of year!!
I'm determined just to buy the things I need and not what I convince myself I need!!

blahblahx · 07/09/2023 21:46

Will definitely be keeping an eye on this thread!

MrsPerfect12 · 07/09/2023 21:50

Love these Christmas threads. Thank you

DogsAreAGirlsBestFriend · 07/09/2023 21:56

Thanks for this thread. I have never heard of the toysforapound website. Just bought some stocking fillers, thank you!!
I would love some tips on reasonably priced Christmas jumpers for all the family, if anyone has any ideas 🎄

Edited

I got my daughter this for her birthday and also some air dry clay. We spent a happy week making lots of different sweets for it.

Athlebad · 07/09/2023 22:17

Did you see those today at Poundland @evtheria? I've been hesitating about the Snakesss game but would definitely give it a try at £5. And the air hardening clay also sounds good...

SootspriteSearcher · 07/09/2023 22:20

Just want to give another reminder about onlinehomestore. They have lots of oodie type hoodies in the sale, plus the towelling material ones (perfect for kids/adults who love swimming or upcoming holidays!) Also fast delivery and good quality items.

DangerousMouse · 07/09/2023 22:23

How many years ago was Cookie Jar gate? I have been here for a few years before that, but it's the first drama I remember on here... was it a cow cookie jar?

Ploptheowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 07/09/2023 22:48

Not a squishy but aldi had soft toy Mario and Luigi’s the other day. Also seen them on Amazon

ColeslawSandwich · 07/09/2023 23:30

@DangerousMouse yep it was a cookie jar! I’d forgotten about that. I think it was cow shaped.

Givealittlebit · 07/09/2023 23:36

I've been on all the prequel threads but somehow (despite the heat!) it now feels like time to snuggle down and get cosy. Oh come all ye bargains...

Gilead · 08/09/2023 00:34

Thank you @Reastie !
Been here sine the beginning and now it’s got so big we’re starting in September!
Fabulous!

@DogsAreAGirlsBestFriend my kids school PTA always sells pre-loved Christmas jumpers for a pound after Oct half term. People donate their washed old Christmas jumpers in the PTA collection tub in reception. It's worth asking your PTA to organise a Christmas jumper sale as the COL crisis will affect more families this year.

Hi all, my first time on this thread.

Riverlee · 08/09/2023 02:54

Another vote for the online Next clearance thread. I’ve picked up loads of good clothes and bits and bobs there.

To get free delivery, order something to go to store. Then an offer appears giving you free delivery if you order something within next thirty minutes.
