Christmas Bargain Thread 1 - the one where my dad is 17

Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

Matalan sent me a birthday code I won’t use. If anyone wants to stack it the 20% off TREAT then help yourself.

EDIT- looks like it may be specific to me. Sorry!

Thank you! Saves me paying postage for boots

Nightsku · 14/09/2023 11:13

Any deals on tangle teezers with a handle… please let me know :)

Simd1 · 14/09/2023 12:15

I know Hot Diamonds comes up a lot on these threads. The codes MSE40 for 40% off and JEWELS for free delivery are still working and stack together. I registered and had something in my basket overnight and they emailed me a further code for 20% off that also stacked with the codes above, so my £50 item ended up being £24, free delivery. They seem to have codes available for long periods so I think the undiscounted price is a little misleading, but I'm pleased with my purchase and I've heard they package really well.

Thank you so much for the Boots heads up. I bought my mum the big hand cream set last year and she mentioned a couple of days ago how much she liked it and wanted it again 😊. That’s one of her presents done!

Argos has a few bits with 25% off. I thought this looked quite good.

They've also got a Vtech karaoke machine for about £25. Can't bring myself to buy something so noisy though.

Made my first thread purchase with the the wet brush, thank you!

FYI Amazon are changing prime membership to £95 year from 15th September so be sure to get what you can before then! 😱

I'm hoping this curtails my spending somewhat on this thread as we have cancelled our Prime membership due to increased cost and recent poor service from Amazon - no longer a bargain when I have to pay postage 😂

Asda had half price toys in store today

MammaRoly · 14/09/2023 13:56

L'Occitane crackers seen in store today, x4 crackers in a box which could easily be split for teen, table or teacher presents making them around €6 each.

Thanks to you all for this thread, this is my 3rd year and love all the ideas and the bargains!

Amimaimia · 14/09/2023 02:11

@PumpkinSpicedTea There’s an extra 30% automatically applied to all outlet items in the checkout (so lower than what you can see is the already discounted outlet price) and you can add promo code ADD25 for further 25% discount

Edited

Thanks for your reply @Amimaimia x

Wet brushes are brilliant - they make hair washes much more pleasant! I'm getting the mini ones for stockings to then go in swim bags.

Lots of Christmas stuff out in B&M. I got some cute glass jars (with Christmas trees/Christmas writing on) for £2 each for my hot choc station. Did people say they'd seen Celebration etc hot choc sachets there? I couldn't see them.

Thanks for Grabolo and Friends game recommendations. I love all the ideas on here!

Also, I checked my Sparks rewards and there's a free bag of Percy Pigs/Colin Caterpillars waiting for me - will pop them in a stocking! So it's worth checking.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 14/09/2023 14:21

@Petal7 Home bargains for the hot chocolate, but in ours it's with the tea and coffee not in the seasonal aisle. Just if you don't spot it immediately.

MmmALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 14/09/2023 14:23

@Petal7 the Celebration hot choc boxes are ALOT smaller than I expected! I was looking everywhere.... until my partner spotted them on the shelf just below halfway up... right infront of where I was standing 🙈

SootspriteSearcher · 14/09/2023 14:32

Not sure if it helps anyone, but if you are on o2 you can add amazon prime onto your contract and get £2 off your bill each month. Same deal for Disney + too, we have both as no TV license just use streaming services for entertainment!

I do use Amazon alot not just the deliveries, but music (get a few all access playlists and no adds, still not as good as spotify but ok for what i need!), TV, and handy that me & dh share the subscription but on our own separate accounts so no surprises ruined!

17caterpillars1mouse · 14/09/2023 14:40

Monsoon currently have a 30% off sale. I've ordered 7 year old dd a gorgeous Arctic animals hoodie for £21 rather than £30 (which would be too much for me to pay usually). If you sign up to their mailing list it's also free delivery! And 30% off anything full price.

Petal7 · 14/09/2023 14:58

Thanks @MmmALovelyBitOfSquirrel and @Haveyoubrushedyourteeth. I'll go and check it out! Always like to mix up the hot chocolate a bit!

Yalz · 14/09/2023 15:06

Boots has a 50% off Brands sale on 68 things which seem intended to be gifts.

It includes many FCUK sets, and the A Little Something items which EMFA mentioned earlier.

Boots does Click and Collect free over £15 and delivery free for £25+.

mumonthehill · 14/09/2023 15:30

I caved and got another glossybox mens so both ds get one now. Good for stocking along with the minecraft oodie, which i hope they like as they are 16 and 22!!!!! Being nostalgic to when they played it all the time!

Hibernatalie · 14/09/2023 15:49

My naked marshmallows s'mores kits have arrived and I am thrilled with them!! They look so good for £12.50 and the marshmallows are in date until next March.

4inthishouse · 14/09/2023 16:16

Sorry but does anyone remember was there a red bubble code could have sworn I seen something but can’t find it now

Hickry · 14/09/2023 16:29

DD1 has asked for a Beachwaver hair thingy. It styles your hair into curls. A bit like a curling tong but it twirls around to wind your hair around the barrel. Has anyone had one and rates it? And also if anyone sees any discount codes do please let me know.

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 14/09/2023 17:00

@4inthishouse I put up, up to 40% off Redbubble but it’s finished now.
If you hold on then there will be another sometime.
