Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

Cans of Cocio are available in Tesco!

evtheria · 13/09/2023 19:06

@HeartshapedFox
Have you tried small corner shops? Where I live the indie newsagents, the texaco garage and the One Stop sell random American fizzy drinks, like A&W, flavoured Dr Peppers, grape sodas, different types of Mountain Dew, etc.

East Asian drinks like ramune bottles are more easy to find online if you don't have an Asian supermarket in your area. An example of a retailer is Tuk Tuk Mart.

I'd also look at the world foods aisle in the regular supermarkets - I find some very interesting Polish drinks at our Tesco, and Milo mix (like Nesquick but BETTER) though make sure it's made in Singapore/Malaysia for the best tasting one. He can then make 'Milo Dinosaur' style cold chocolate.

@evtheria you have made my day. I can only ever find glass bottles and it's not the same. We will never get the taste of my danish childhood (Mathilde from the carton) but Cocio is close enough...

Edited

DP also prefers the can - but for some reason we found it at a Tesco elsewhere, not in the Tesco in our town.

Struggling to stay on list as I keep seeing the bargains on here 😂
thanks for the deals everyone!

CarrieMoonbeams · 13/09/2023 19:20

@HeartshapedFox ,

I use International Foods uk. If you go to "collections" on the menu, you'll see the categories there.

Sometimes they have the BB dates on, sometimes they don't, so I don't order them until about a month before I actually need them.

SnowJamz · 13/09/2023 19:23

I wondered if any of you could help me please.
I know I won’t get a bargain but your expertise are needed!

One of my nieces asked for the Miffy Skinnydip wash bag. The tall, slim one. But it’s sold out on their website and I can’t find it anywhere else either. Could anyone let me know if it’s in stock with any other shop. Thank you.

not cheap but it’s the cheapest it’s been if it’s on anyones list.

choccychocchoc · 13/09/2023 19:46

Glossy box outlet - does anyone know if the bundles are different to the individual boxes. Bought one of each box this morning but tempted to get the bundles too if they're different?

No bargains to add but I've really enjoyed reading all the posts about toys. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for the days when DD was little and I was picking up all the Santa toys. She's 18 now and still loves Christmas, but it's not the same when they're past the toy stage.

villamariavintrapp · 13/09/2023 20:09

The Lego suitcase is back down to £13.99 on Amazon, think that's slightly less than before?

Hi, this is niche, but off the back of the Japanese strawberries discussion upthread, has anyone come across somewhere that sells Japanese snacks (savoury and sweet) that are guaranteed gluten free (safe for coeliacs)? I’ve checked the places mentioned (Ichiba/Japancentre and Bokksu) but neither had stuff guaranteed free from cross contamination.
Thank you!

Have you tried Kenji? They have shops everywhere but we've been to Liverpool and the Trafford centre in Manchester. They are a Japanese shop that sells sweets too. 🥰🥰

Theraffarian · 13/09/2023 20:30

For anyone awaiting an offer on the Degusta advent calendar, they emailed me a £5 discount this evening . Not one I can share unfortunately, but worth checking/ signing up to emails if you wanted to buy it .

Restlessinthenorth · 13/09/2023 20:56

I'm late checking in today but just jumped on the glassy box deal. 5 boxes £23. I'll sift through the contents and package up the bits that my teenager would like, and keep the other bits for me! Haha x

HeartshapedFox · 13/09/2023 21:30

Thanks everyone for the drinks suggestions, I’m off to have a look through those websites now…

HeartshapedFox · 13/09/2023 21:34
