Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

Can't find a refferal thread but here's my link to temu

I've bought several bits from here and going to get all my stocking fillers. It arrives within about 10 days, actually decent stuff and dirt cheap. It's like wish but quicker

Confusedmeanderings · 10/09/2023 01:01

Aagh! Turn your back for 5 minutes and find the thread is filling up madly!

WetFlump · 10/09/2023 01:10

Recommendation and a link (but it does go MUCH cheaper).
We’ve played this game with all ages- sometimes we skip 1/2 of the questions for much younger players but keeps us all entertained so imagine it’ll be fab on Xmas day

Hi all. Am looking to get a couple of gaming chairs for ds9 and ds11. Would like the ones that look like a curved rocker, and that fold away, with headphones port. Can anyone recommend any? Not too bothered about fancy brand or design - plain colour would be my preferred option! Is it best to wait until black Friday? Also - any recommendations for gaming type headphones? Tia.

My son has an X-Rocker, we got in on sale in Argos last year.

sparklepuffkin · 10/09/2023 10:47

Asos has an extra twenty per cent on sale items with code 'extra20' good for teenage stocking fillers, also spotted Polaroid 'instant lab' (prints Polaroid style pictures from phone' which is reduced to £96 with a further twenty per cent off which seems a good price if anybody is looking for one

Beckafett · 10/09/2023 11:08

Just looking at my past orders and it says I paid £19.40 for it but I thought it was cheaper. They also do it in the works

imnottoofussed · 10/09/2023 11:16

Whoever wanted sol de janeiro there's a code for discount at lookfantastic it's an influencers code 40PLUS not sure if they sell what you want there but I know they do sell that brand

TheBeesKnee · 10/09/2023 11:28

I know it's a huge ask but I'm looking to buy a digital camera - canon g7x mark ii - if anyone has any discounts or links?

I don't mind buying things second hand but get nervous when it's a lot of cash. I found one on Facebook marketplace for £450 but I'm suspicious. They said it's only been taken out of the box and they can provide a receipt, but why do they not just return it then, even for gift vouchers if they can't get cash back? I'm just not sure.

They're also sold out in Argos, I was hoping to use the extra20 discount code!

Never really sure how these work or where to check for the offers. But I just had a banner pop up on the Amazon website giving me £5 off if I order on the app, which I just did and it worked. Available for the first 50,000 opt ins, apparently.

@TheBeesKnee

Not sure what prices they will be but I always use MPB for camera purchases (it is usually second hand but they have different grades). Worth a look to get an idea of what prices to look for maybe. They also offer a guarantee

Sainsbury's have some good offers in their toy section, 2 for £15

I got the fold out garage/car set (£10) and the Lego dinosaur (£13).

They also had Hot Wheels, Spiderman walkie talkies, Thomas trains, and Peppa pig things.

Thanks. Some really good prices there

Topbird29 · 10/09/2023 16:47

@Blessedbethefruitz - thanks. That's the type of style, but prob looking for plain as poss rather than with a character on. Have found a couple on amazon, so might wait until black Friday.

Mytribeof3 · 10/09/2023 16:54

I would like to top up dds craft supplies but a bit short of inspiration so would appreciate any suggestions / deals please. She is 9 and is currently enjoying air dry clay and bracelet making. TIA

Beckafett · 10/09/2023 16:56

What about posca pens? They went down really well last Xmas here- I got them from hobby craft but had to go to store

Topbird29 · 10/09/2023 16:58

@1sttimemama - thanks - have seen xrocker on amazon. Is prob the type of thing we will go for. Do you know if the headphones work OK with it? Good shout re argos - will check it out.

WidowedMum · 10/09/2023 17:07

I know it’s a long shot but if anyone spots one of last years little snowman mugs when dunelm put their stuff out could you please get it and post it to me? It was DD’s favourite cup and I broke it! It’s unlikely it’ll be in this years range but thought one might be found in a store room somewhere and put on the shelf. Of course I’ll pay all costs.

How about hama type beads? I got a big box on amazon for about £15, came with loads plus boards etc.

A badge maker has been really popular with my dds, was a big outlay but has been used loads. They've made them as birthday gifts for friends too.

Dd2 loved spray/blow pens. Also a spirograph. Was a bit of nostalgia for me too!

I've got some shrinkies from temu too, I loved doing them when I was younger (crisp packets too!) so looking forward to doing it with dds!

Beginners crochet kit? Dd2 is trying to teach herself crochet.

Pom pom makers, we've made quite a few and turned them into Christmas decorations and little monsters!

Dd2 loves the harimiku sets. (Cheap on bargainmax) a nice way to design some outfits without sewing.

A light board? Great for tracing designs. I'm looking at getting one this year.

Scratch art books.

Adult colouring books and sharpies/nice pencils.

Posca pens and canvas/sketch books. The books are currently reduced in the works, ive just topped up dd1s supply!

As you can tell mine are a crafty pair 🤣
