My partner of 4 years really upsets me when it comes to Christmas presents.

This year he went to a local DIY shop for my Christmas gift. He bought me 30 Christmas teddies. Spent 160 and is shocked and annoyed that I’m not happy with it.

I keep telling him if he got one it would be meaningful but 30 to me paints the picture that he genuinely doesn’t know me well enough to pick what I like.

I’ve been searching and really looking for things that would make him happy.

Am I wrong for being upset? I hate arguing over materialistic things but he makes me feel so unseen and unheard. 🤦🏼‍♀️

That is spectacularly thoughtless. I’m assuming he thought it was ‘cute’ or something? Has he kept the receipt? I’d tell him to take them back.
DH is pretty crap sometimes as in I’d say I liked something, he’d get me one similar but completely the wrong shape or colour. It was frustrating for many years, I now just send him links if there is something I’d really like, but 30 dust collecting teddy bears is bonkers.
Why has he even given you them now?

Teddies are great. I'm not one who thinks adults shouldn't have them. Saw a lovely jellycat croissant the other day. But 30??? I'm confused?? Why not just 1? 30 is fucking bonkers

He gave me 2 for our first Christmas I have kept 1 of them because it meant more to him than me. I have no value on teddy’s even as a child I didn’t . But now I’ve 30 that I’m pleading with him to return.

I actually can’t cope with him! 🙈

did he get a job lot that fell off the back of a truck? What would happen if you returned them?

I'd check that he had paid for them not got some dodgy deal, then take them back and buy something useful.

I call it a diy shop as you can buy all that sort of stuff there but they sell Christmas decorations at Christmas.

I own upwards of 45 teddies, I love to be given teddies and soft toys of all types. Especially sad looking ones all alone on a shelf. I cannot imagine being given 30 seasonal teddies 😂😂 did he panic?

He gives as he buys. His whole family do it that way. They don’t open gifts Christmas morning! 🤷🏼‍♀️
