Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

Ah the stress is real. I’ve packages arriving every day!
I‘M waiting on a bracelet that tracking says arrived a week ago….. got onto company and they said they’d send a replacement and an email with new tracking details !
Had to phone again today because no new email with details has arrived…. Told they said they will send bracelet today and email once it’s sent…… hope I get it on time, it’s top of daughters Xmas list!

I was getting worried when my Fraser fir Christmas tree didn’t arrive yesterday on its due date, but the forestry company phoned me in the afternoon to say they were chasing the courier company on my behalf, and had told them to prioritise it.
Credit where due, it arrived first thing this morning, phew. I can’t even lift it, so it absolutely had to be here in time for my family to arrive from Edinburgh to put it up and decorate it on this, their only free weekend pre Christmas.

scoopoftheday · 09/12/2022 12:55

£120 Nike trainers, yodel says they've delivered, they haven't. I WFH and had no deliveries yesterday (when they say they delivered)

An aSOs parcel with a dress id ordered for Saturday night and a couple gifts, with evri for the past two weeks.

Body shop stuff I ordered on November 30, with evri.

My kids are older and will be easier to explain things to than younger kids but its a lot of money outlying to have nothing to show for it.

Iheartmysmart · 09/12/2022 13:04

I raised a complaint through Royal Mail at the beginning of the week. Had a reply back that basically said they’re running behind because of the strikes, hopefully I’ve received my parcel but if not check the tracking! Talk about stating the obvious. No, my parcel hasn’t arrived and they’ve not updated the tracking since 23 November. Utterly useless.

justasking111 · 09/12/2022 13:14

OH mocked me when parcels arrived in late October early November. I read about proposed strikes and got a move on. Sent OH a link to the perfume I wanted as requested. Last night he said what do you want. Read the email with link I sent you a month ago. He found it, clicking on link said it's sold out. I could scream.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/12/2022 13:31

I'm starting to get eBay claims being threatened against me now as people aren't willing to wait a few extra days for their items. I can see me losing loads of money as Royal Mail don't pay out compensation unless you have the original purchase receipt for the sold item.

My deliveries here have been slow but ok, but I guess it depends where you are in the country. I just wish they'd update the tracking.

WhyDoesItAlways · 09/12/2022 13:37

I just had an email to say my Evri parcels had been delivered so I text DP at home to ask if it was true and it is! Just in the nick of time because I need it for tomorrow.

The other 2 parcels which were ordered earlier are still missing so going to ask the retailer to resend as it's been weeks now.

The tracking on my royal mail parcel has updated to say that they've got it so progress for me today!

I would stop posting now

Since all my birthday cards arrived a week late after the late November strikes, and other online issues i don't trust ordering over the Internet right now so everything else I'm going to have to go and get in person.

Peoplewatcheswithcoffee · 09/12/2022 13:59

We are a small family business and can echo all what other small business posters have said. It is cripling us. We have customers demanding replacements or refunds left, right and centre. We are trying our best but we are getting no-where with Royal mail. They are not paying out claims unless the parcel is over 10 days late (plus extra for strike days) but stuff keeps mysteriously turning up at day 9. We really pride ourselves on customer service and our product is relied upon for quality of life for our customers, so we are trying to replace items that have not arrived in a suitable time frame. Royal Mail do not seem to be updating tracking information and we are just getting 'this delivery has not been attempted' on our side so we can't reassure customers either. It is frustrating all round.

We have tried using alternative couriers, DPD have massive delays and more expensive. There are delays with UPS. Delays with Evri. Delays with Yodel. Our area seems to suffer from particularly bad Evri service and we had to stop using them as stock was going "missing" far too often. Until now Royal mail was our most consistent delivery option.

We are likely to go out of stock soon and we are waiting for our next delivery which is also massively delayed. Its getting to the point financially where it makes better finacial sense to be out of stock until January. It is hard for us little guys atm.

BoxerMam · 09/12/2022 14:33

I've just had an email from Dr Martens to say that the shoes I ordered weeks ago have now been returned to their warehouse?
They provided tracking initially but it just said the number wasn't recognised, so I'm not sure whether they actually did post them or not ...

wejammin · 09/12/2022 14:38

I'm waiting for an Etsy parcel via royal mail and a H&M parcel via Evri, Evri has had the stuff in their warehouse since 3rd December...it's got my daughter's jumper for Christmas jumper day on Thursday. I'm not hopeful.

Jenasaurus · 09/12/2022 14:38

my advent calenders ordered on 20th November, only 1 has arrived. Supplier has said to give them longer due to strikes, but whats the point of an advent calendar after christmas.

InfinityOrUndefined · 09/12/2022 14:44

I sorted most of the presents in October November time so not so much to come.

One thing annoys me though. I ordered Black Friday perfume set from Shay&Blue and they just didn't dispatch it. It was a birthday present for a friend. I contacted them and they said they oversold. I got £25 gift voucher and refund. I ordered a bottle of their perfume for that birthday present but now they are not dispatching it again. They use Royal Mail so I think my friend is getting her present late.

I am also waiting for wine testing kit from smashed grapes but that has been stuck with RM ages.

LIZS · 09/12/2022 14:46

Expecting a dpd delivery today but they just dropped off a work package for dh.

Reugny · 09/12/2022 14:54

My Yodel delivery is now at my nearest Collect+ shop, which is 3 minutes walk away, for collection.

My Evri order which I made a week earlier is still missing. The retailer are trying to chase it up and then resend the items. It is a mixture of Christmas presents and bog standard stuff. I will give the Christmas presents to people in January if need be as they are parts of gifts and the people are adults who are understanding.

desperatehousewife21 · 09/12/2022 15:08

Got 4 parcels somewhere in the country supposedly making their way to me.

Two have tracking and two don’t. Combinations of DHs and DSs Christmas presents.

I GET why RM workers are striking, I reallly do and completely support them…but is there a reason the strikes had to happen in December? And for so many separate days??

LastNCof2022 · 09/12/2022 15:10

I have ordered lots from amazon and everything is arriving when it should...

alloalloallo · 09/12/2022 15:28

The last of my deliveries for gifts arrived this morning. DD wanted the mini Uggs for Christmas but they were out of stock everywhere. They finally came back into stock and I managed to bag the last pair in her size on Monday. I was biting my nails but they arrived unexpectedly early this morning. I can relax now.

I’m still waiting for some Christmas tree decorations that I ordered from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago. Not the end of the world if they don’t arrive in time, they haven’t even been despatched yet so not expecting them anytime soon.

Floralnomad · 09/12/2022 16:25

Out of principle I’m now emailing ‘Mrs snowballs ‘ everyday now until she at least has the decency to reply and say that my items are stuck somewhere in the postal service . A package that I’ve sent to the highlands courtesy of Costco that was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday by Fed ex is apparently in Inverness and is now due out on Monday , they email me everyday to let me know they will try again tomorrow .

QuietOne121 · 09/12/2022 16:37

One of my parcels came from DPD today. And another being delivered by Royal Mail appeared in the tracking system today after nothing for 3-4 days. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday.

Remain patient everyone. After this though I’m done with online shopping for a couple of months.

spuddel · 09/12/2022 16:54

I've had two parcels arrive on time but with missing contents and re-taped by dpd. Company asked me to wait for their urgent email to dpd to locate missing items. A week later, nothing. Several parcels are three weeks late. It's mentally exhausting trying to remember what is where. I know it's not the company's fault and I am being very understanding and patient with Etsy sellers but I just want to be done with it all now. The rest will need to come from Amazon or the high street.

Ihavedogs · 09/12/2022 16:58

I am pleased to say that all the parcels we want before Christmas have now arrived.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 09/12/2022 17:00

My son is at university.
His birthday was at the end of November but he’s just come home so we’re celebrating tomorrow.
But half the things I’ve ordered for him, including all the cards, haven’t arrived even though normally they would have arrived in time for his actual birthday.
I’m really sad.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 09/12/2022 17:01

I’m not even thinking about the Christmas ones that haven’t arrived yet.

This is why Amazon is so successful.
