Ho ho ho and welcome to the bargain Christmas thread - home of the discounts for Christmas shopping.

Thanks @tabbycat985 for the title

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Present tracking apps might be of interest eg Santas bag, gift list.

Here are some useful websites:

Amazon free delivery tool here

Aliexpress www.aliexpress.com here . Useful tips here from sorryiasked: Aliexpress is a Chinese site that sells everything! Assume all branded stuff is fake. I personally wouldn't buy baby toys or electronics from there as I don't have faith in the product safety. But for fan merchandise, dolls clothes, "lego", household items etc it's great. Check the size guide on clothes and lower your expectations!
Use a seller who has a 4.5 star rating or higher.

You can pay via PayPal and there is an excellent tracking system, but be aware express postage is usually 2-3 weeks and standard postage up to 2-3 months.

Bargainmax here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here although be aware reviews of the site is mixed

Toys for a pound here

Any additional websites or recommendations to add - just let me know Grin . I should add something about Ali express maybe as we’ve had that before…will get my brain thinking about what other sites/products have been popular.

Morning Reastie. Thanks for the new thread.

Vebrithien · 16/09/2022 06:46

Thank you @Reastie

'Tis always a pleasure and a joy to see the new thread title 😄

Quick question, what is the best tool for tracking prices? I've seen a Gault reactions marble run on Amazon, with 16% off, and am wondering if I should snaffle it up now or try to hang on.

And @Reastie love the name!

templesit · 16/09/2022 07:10

Have no money spare to spend right now but jumping aboard this thread!!

SweetPeaPods · 16/09/2022 07:11

@Vebrithien I use camel camel camel uk. You can get a notification of a specific price or just any price drop. You can also look at average, highest and lowest price for an item. I've set up a few alerts ahead of Black Friday.

Thanks @Reastie for new thread.

STom2 · 16/09/2022 07:14

Thanks for the new thread! I've already got a few bargains from the last one. All very exciting!

Thank you to those that mentioned the Peppa Big Advent calendar and the Boots 50% off today. Bagged the calendar for my DS and got some new makeup brushes using saved advantage card points. Busy morning!

Smil3 · 16/09/2022 07:23

Thank you for these Christmas threads, I've got so many bargains already! If anyone is looking for a hooded blanket this winter kudd.ly have an offer on mix and match 3 items for up to 70% off, not just their hooded blankets in the deal. I got 3 blankets for £97, 2 presents sorted and one for myself 😊Kudd.ly

Has anyone used the cottonon typo website recently? Someone linked it on another thread last night and I went on for a browse. I saw a few things I like but I just can't navigate the site at all. Nothing is clickable so I can't see the options or take a look at any item details. Am I missing sonething really obvious?

It's working ok for me

Thanks @Reastie

Marellatea · 16/09/2022 07:54

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads I’ve had that with the website too (on iPad). Very annoying. I end up opening the links in a new page. You can get some good stuff for kids/teens. Keep an eye out for discounts - they usually have regular offers. I’m sure someone will post them on here!

Brilliant thread Reastie!

Haudyourwheesht · 16/09/2022 07:58

Signing in. DH was asking if we could afford an extra payment for a few months and I could only respond: 'but... Christmas'! I don't think it's figured on his radar yet. Grin

Just a recommendation for a wee purchase that has gone down well for me in the past with grandparents. Photo glass cleaning cloths for a few £ from eBay like these

Good morning @Reastie thanks for the new thread. After avoiding it for so many years, I've finally messed up enough to make the title😂
Todays Vodafone rewards are a bunch of protein bars, might work well for a fitness nut/healthy stocking if the dates are good. Let me know if anyone wants the code!

In case it helps anyone, I have a £10 voucher for skullcandy which I won’t use. Looks like some of their ear pods start around £29.99 so might be a good gift for a teen / pre-teen with the £10 off?

Feel free to pm me if you would like the code.

Morning all. Thanks @Reastie for another thread.

Mini Mage is sick today so no school run so I'm back in bed and trying to avoid more spending.

She's asked for more Pokémon teddies which won't be a problem but I refuse to pay the redonkulous prices of build a Bear. Our local b and m had some but when I went yesterday I couldn't see them. Having a hot flush didn't help! (Seriously, I thought I'd not start this stuff till I was in my 50s, not 37!)

I did get a bottle bag though, but will use it as a stocking for the puppy that we are getting in a few weeks.

Someaddedsugar · 16/09/2022 08:36

@UrbanMage there are loads of Pokémon build a bear's on Vinted - also lots with the extras like voice and smell. I'm sure when you sign up to the build a bear club you get £10 off a £50 spend too.

My local Asda had a load of Pokémon stuff in their toy event. I think there were a few teddies plus a set of large figures. I didn’t notice the prices though, sorry!

Loulouli · 16/09/2022 08:42

not sure if this one is single use or not: I had an email for 30% off (for one item) at Polarn O. Pyret (GET30) valid until Sunday. Might be useful for a more expensive item such as winter jacket etc.

snowmanshoes · 16/09/2022 08:49

It was me that posted about cotton on (typo) website - it’s working ok for me too. I usually google ‘typo’ though and go through a link that way - probably won’t make any difference but thought I’d mention it!

Annie1290 · 16/09/2022 09:14

Which gravitrax sera would those of you with 5yr olds recommend as a starter? DS1 is about to turn 5 and is always trying to 'fix' things so thinking he'd like trying to build something simple.

Thanks @Countingdowntodecember and @Someaddedsugar I will check them out. Love a bit of vinted!
