I have a 50% off code for Sweaty Betty - it's single use so whoever can use it first - BDAYUK-5T7HZL5NRQ. Valid until 29.09.22.

Doh I was too slow! Very kind of you OP.

Someaddedsugar · 16/09/2022 14:50

@LemonFrosting pretty sure they both work - colour reveal is a brown colour that you have to wash off to reveal the actual colour and then does the hot/cold water trick (so brown then one colour hot and another cold) and I think colour shifters are the ones that are already one colour and then do the hot/cold trick (so only hot and cold colours).

Someaddedsugar · 16/09/2022 14:50

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz oh no! If you sign up to the SB insiders club and put your birthday in you should get sent a 50% off code the day before.

FragileWitch · 16/09/2022 14:53

DD (8) has got really into history, specifically the Tudor period but also general UK history.
Any suggestions for gifts would be appreciated as her 9th birthday is 8 days before Christmas so I need to buy for both and am really at a loss.
We’ve got all the Horrible Histories books, games, colouring in, seen the shows and got the T-shirt! Is there anything else history based for that age?

SpottyBumPony · 16/09/2022 14:57

@LemonFrosting I'm interested in Hotwheels bargains too

Hi have you heard of Girl for all Time Matilda?

www.agirlforalltime.com/products/1-matilda-your-tudor-girl-doll

Its a UK company not sure why its in dollars. There is a book & workbook you can buy with her too. She's also on ebay. My daughter has the set & loved it (she's a teen now).
Not sure you wanted to spend that much but just sharing!

Reastie · 16/09/2022 15:06

@HmmWhatNameToHave that age of teenage boy is so hard to buy for . Ds turns 16 at Christmas too and I've so few ideas (and get millions for his younger sister).

Basic ideas I've had
Xbox / PS voucher
Gym clothes
Voucher for cinema / bowling
Young driver experience
Games if there's any he wants
New football accessories like socks, shin pads etc.

Last year he really loved his Oodie and sweet hamper

thaegumathteth · 16/09/2022 15:22

*yet millions Blush

Thank you so much! I couldn't work out the difference with them! I'm glad they both do hot and cold colour change, now it's just to find which ever are the most bargainous!!

@SpottyBumPony home bargains have a few sets on sale and I'm sure November last year argos had good discounts on hot wheels, hopefully they discount again.

I'm just looking for the colour change cars now.

Reminder. Dunelm for Oodies

I'm buying for a fairly tall and skinny 11 year old - would I be better off with an adult size or the medium kids do you think?

Maharajah20 · 16/09/2022 15:30

SweetPeaPods · 16/09/2022 12:17

Anyone know where the in place is for mens hoodies? Brother has asked for one for Christmas and feels he is too old for Jack Wills now.

What age is your brother? Most boys under about 30 probably wouldn't wear Tokyo Laundry or Fatface.

Maharajah20 · 16/09/2022 15:30

Men not boys!! 🙄

@mummysandwich

These are the sizes from one of the Dunelm kids hoodies

Small (Ages 5-6): Length 63cm x Chest 59cm, Medium (Ages 7-10): Length 78cm x Chest 68cm

The adults will bury them at age 11

Where in the country do you live? Could a visit to a local stately home, a Tudor one be a gift? I was a massive history geek at that age too and one of my most treasured possessions was a books about the Tudors, in fact, I still have it.

ThisUserNameIsAvailableOk · 16/09/2022 15:38

Could you take her to Warwick Castle? Or if near Edinburgh the sightseeing bus has horrible histories commentary.

BeanyBops · 16/09/2022 15:41

For the you g girl. Into history, how about national trust membership? Sbe would love going around the inside of some of the buildings!

FilthyforFirth · 16/09/2022 15:42

Hi @FragileWitch how about a metal detector? She might find some old coins or something, she could start her own historical collection!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/09/2022 15:58

.... and I've finally ordered blanket hoodies for DD and I. Went with Online Home Store in the end and came to £26 including delivery which I HATED paying but couldn't find a code.

Looking forward to snuggling up in them in a few months!

Thanks for the suggestions x

Holidayqueen1 · 16/09/2022 16:11

Hiya
long time lurker here! Thanks for some fab bargains already this year.
Not sure whether people have seen already but Cox and Cox have 30% off full price items with code FESTIVE30

mummysandwich · 16/09/2022 16:15

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads thank you - I think you're right, the adults ones will be too big. I was put off by the age 7-10 thing but logically they're massive anyway so should be fine with a medium Grin

Mine would love the octopus hoodie. Neither have an actual computer (just laptop) but I do think the keyboard would be liked too if they did.
