It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

@UrbanMage and @buckeejit, have you ever tried Grub boots? I struggle with small feet / large calves and the local county store recommended these. They are absolutely brilliant and will keep you toasty when walking the dog in the winter.

Thanks for the Poundtoy BOGOF info. I’ve just spent £73 but got some fab stocking fillers/small gifts for my girls. It’s one of those deals that gives you the cheapest stuff free though so may be worth splitting orders to get the best deals (I couldn’t be bothered after trawling through 48 pages of stuff!) saved over £30 though so I’m happy with that with the things I’ve got.

I don’t think that the Celtic Co code was a one off? I used it too ( thank you so much!) after PP had inspired me with her mention of sheepskin insoles, and it worked for me too.

@UrbanMage I have wellibobs and would say if you are a 5/6 to go for the 6 as I think they are slightly small fitting and narrow.

Last winter I got some sorel ankle boots to walk the dog, they are waterproof, lightweight and toasty warm. Whilst their a canvas shoes rather than a Welly mud washes off easily and I believe they can be machine washed. Women's Explorer Carnival Snow Boot amzn.eu/hHOEYTd Link

Celtic and Co code ended at midnight last night. They do the codes quite regularly though.

UrbanMage · 04/09/2022 23:51

Question about Joules wellybobs: are they true to size? I've got humongous calves (so normal wellies won't fit me), but size 5/6 feet and I'll be looking to get some for dog walking later this year (my pre Christmas present is a puppy. Been desperate for one for years and now I've given up teaching, we are in a situation where it won't be alone).

I know it's not really Christmas related but the style and beauty board is scary

I think they are tight on calves. I stopped wearing mine because I can’t get them
off without DH pulling them off!

Closerto40 · 05/09/2022 11:33

Anyone aware of any reduced Lego sets? Around the £5 mark for toddlers?

UrbanMage · 05/09/2022 11:53

Thanks everyone for the Welly advice. This is why I love the Christmas boards as everyone is just kind and lush.

I've just been to Sainbsurys in Durham and got this Lego Dots bag for free. I'm assuming you'd need to be with a child but might be able to ask for them discreetly?

Morrisons back to school stationary etc worth a look. Half price stationary etc but my best bargain was the backpacks down from £10 to £2.50. Good size and quality. Sadly not Xmas presents here as my youngest was with me and pointed them out!!

WhereIsThisGoing · 05/09/2022 13:52

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping someone cosy (but presentable) behind their computer? I'm thinking something like a heated chair cover but struggling to find something that is affordable/decently reviewed
