It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Sheknowtheyrhinestones · 15/09/2022 22:22

Could possibly have been these. Maybe worth checking local stores

@psuedocream3 thank you for the heads up on the Minecraft Lego discount plus Amazon voucher - I’ve bought the rabbit house too! Not just being a sheep honestly, I had been looking at it for DS2…

Famousthehero · 15/09/2022 22:32

@consortiar think the price on the other cracker was £3.92.
This offer is still more than 50% off though.

others have said the crackers are surprisingly small in person

Speaking of marble runs, does anyone have any experience of gravitrax? It's on offer on Amazon at the moment and looks like the kind of thing my 5 year old would like but still fairly pricey!

5 year old here loves Gravitrax, can build some simple runs on his own but needs help with the more complicated add ons. A lot of fun and have ordered more add on sets for Christmas. He also has Vtech marble rush he can build completely by himself and has been a big hit.

I received my Thrift+ order today, placed on the 30th and having not had any delivery notice emails at all.
I ordered 6 pairs of shoes, 2 skirts and a belt and all are in brilliant condition. Actually, one pair of shoes didn't arrive, so I've been in touch with them and am waiting to hear back. I'm so pleased with it all, I spent £93 and added all the RRP's up based on similar items on sale now and info I could find on the items I bought and it was worth around £3500 altogether. Thats some bargains!

Brands included Lanvin, Prada, Stuart Weitzman, Kurt Geiger and Manalo Blahnik shoes, a Fahri 100% silk skirt and a ruffle skirt from Hush.

@Reastie just a little heads up for a new thread in the next day or so :)

BigEaredBob · 15/09/2022 23:07

In case anyone is interested, You and Yours on Radio 4 today was all about Thrift+ and it’s founder. It was fascinating and they did mention the bank holiday sale and how it had been picked up by some websites!

Half price Friday at Boots, online only.

psuedocream3 · 16/09/2022 03:59

Glad the Amazon discount/Lego has helped a few.

ASOS have their mystery code back on for up to 30% off nearly everything on their site. I haven't had a good look to be honest as I really don't need to buy anything else from there... but I saw the Easilocks satin pillowcase giftset which was reduced to £17.00 from £24.99 would be £11.90 after 30% off.

I'm almost done with Christmas shopping, just toys for a 4 year old with autism, and toys for a 1 year old is needed, a bit stumped on what to buy for them. And then stocking fillers for various aged kids if anyone has any suggestions.

Isonthecase · 16/09/2022 04:59

@psuedocream3 have you tried the Aldi middle aisle? They had a few knock off Grimm toys in ours plus loads of kids books and some nuby sensory toys left over from the baby event. Should be able to find something for the one year old in there and probably the 4 year old too. I also saw a sensory tent somewhere recently that might be good, will see if I can re-find it.

Thanks for all the gravitrax advice, will make it a daddy decision as he would be doing the helping while I'm glued to a baby!

We have a new thread ready when you all are. Thanks for the warning @woodwaj and @Cantthinkofadifferentname

Right ... going to make it my mission to finally get my finger out and sort huge fleece things out today although no budget for Oodies. Looking around £15 mark ...

Any suggestions or great bargains seen?

LalaDipsey · 16/09/2022 08:06

I bought 'oodies' for my 3 children and niece in Primark yesterday. Ranged from £12 for plain black to £16 for an Among Us one. Also had:
101 Dalmatian's
Multicoloured unicorn
Minecraft
Chicago Bulls
Dinosaur
Avocado
Mix of food pictures?!
Another couple of plain colours
Disney ones

Enough choice for me to get one for each that suited them and a range of sizes too.

They also had several adult ones. I want one but personally I didn't like any of the e adult choices yet. Good luck!

I'd also add that the lip balms are usually £3.99 each so definitely worth the reduced prices.

The tin of balm that you get with it is small in size (the larger balms are about £8 I think) so yes, overall the cracker is small, but it also comes with a red hair bobble (looks like you're supposed to hang the cracker on tree)

SweetPeaPods · 16/09/2022 08:34

Oh mine didn't have a red hair bobble

It's a red hair band. Photo to show scale of cracker for anyone still keeping an eye on them with view to buying

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz Amazon have plain ones for £12.99 and I think there is an extra 5% voucher you can apply if you buy 2 or more

consortiar · 16/09/2022 09:22

Dunelm for Oodies

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/09/2022 09:22

Re hoodies ... thanks both .., I'll check out the Amazon ones and try to get to Primark next few days. Appreciate that 😊

Has anyone ever ordered from hammersmith furniture. I've found a HP sprocket new for £39 which seems to good to be true

Twonka · 16/09/2022 09:34

@psuedocream3 how do you get the 30% off on asos?

LateNightTalking · 16/09/2022 09:37

I was surprised at the size of the Burt's Bees crackers too (not sure why!) but they are a nice little gift. One of mine is missing the bobble but I'll either replace it with another bobble or some ribbon.

My wax lyrical candles have arrived too; they're such a good size!

Thanks to the posters.

The Works have activity sets at £7 each or 2 for £12. Things like baking, tie dye, calligraphy, games, science based activities and kits etc. i always think they make good gifts!
