It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

I did it as it was still a bargain!

Absolutely love these threads, my twins are 14 next week & been on here since they were about 4, can’t imagine how much money I’ve saved over the years. If any teens are looking for Calvin Kline boxers, House of Fraser have a pack of 3 reduced to £19, there is a £4.99 delivery fee but still a bargain.

Iknownothing · 14/08/2022 16:09

Any bargain ideas for a 12 yr old boy - £15-20 range. Not football and not lego.
I really don’t want to resort to a gift card.

Just to say that some of the Jim Kay illustrated Harry Potter books are down to £16 on Amazon at the moment. I am debating whether to pre order the Order of the Phoenix as we have all the others but my eldest has read all of the Harry Potter books and my youngest isn’t old enough yet.

It's cheaper to preorder from the Bloomsbury website than Amazon and you also get an exclusive tote bag.

NightOwl101 · 14/08/2022 17:03

LostMyRubySlippers thank you that's exactly the kind of thing I'm after. I've got that saved to my list hopefully it drops it a little to make it a bargain.

isthatwhatyoureallywanted · 14/08/2022 10:36

@NightOwl101 I also have football mad DC. A couple of years ago I got them a light up football off Amazon. I thought it was going to be a gimmick and probably not work but it was brilliant. Basically, when you kick it, it activates a light in the ball and so they can play in the dark. Sometimes they wear headlamps so they can see each other, sometimes they don't.

Thank you I'll have a look for something like that. I'm pretty useless when it comes to football stuff and he's only just started getting really into it and now it's the only thing he's interested in

BuffyFairy · 14/08/2022 17:11

Thanks for the prequel threads. I have blanket hoodies on the way (loved mine so much last winter I bought me another one and 2 for the kids). Plus the megalodon shark technic set.

I’ve been on these threads for 9 or 10 years. Very thankful for the bargains and ideas. I don’t usually find much myself but this is a nice Lego gift for £10.

Make sure to tick the voucher box to get £7.99 off and bring it down to £10.

Warning - this is a bargain but it’s a bit specific.

armani have last years advent calendar in sake for £175 down from £250. The 7 full size items alone are worth £215 bought separately. There’s then 9 travel and miniatures and 50ml of Armani perfume in 5/7 ml bottles.

also if you spend £80 there is a free gift - a nude Armani vanity case and another 7ml perfume.

Just joining - feeling very disorganised this year, which seems an odd thing to say in August!

Bought the magic maths game for DD and the Lego dots - I have a couple of people I could give this to - what sort of age would it be suitable for? (My two are younger so no idea about older ones!)

psuedocream3 · 14/08/2022 18:39

They are price matching with Argos, this is in the Argos 2 for £20 sale if that helps?

presidentgerbil · 14/08/2022 19:00

Just ordered this Lego set on Amazon, £8 reduced from £18.

Maybe books on a football theme as well?- there is the Charlie Fry/ football boy wonder series and also a big series of player biographies which are aimed at kids

Lego dots voucher still working for me. I got DS nearly 6 some dots recently and they went down really well, he loves making pictures with them but if I'm being honest, I think I play with them more than he does 😄

I have bought the lego dots for my nephew, but am very tempted to keep them for myself or buy another set for my home!

If it is of use to anyone, youknowwhos.co.uk/ are offering free discount on orders over £10, until midnight tonight. I've not purchased from her before, but came across the site from last years threads.
