It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

What about a bucket of dinosaurs @ChristmasSirens ? My Ds got one at that age and is still regularly playing with them 4 years on....

Purpleheadgirl · 22/08/2022 22:45

@ChristmasSirens And funds allowing, Harry and his bucketful of dinosaur books to go with the actual dinosaurs. My kids loved them :)

ChristmasSirens · 22/08/2022 22:48

Thank you! I will look for deals on that theme!

£9.95 Whistlefish delivery @CarrotCarrotCucumber Shock Shock

Apologies if this has been posted already but Zavvi have 3 for 2 Lego sets until midnight tonight - usual cost around £50 each. My MN experience has never recovered from the site changeover (I still can't use the app at all) so if there is any way of viewing the whole thread I'd be grateful to learn it - I used to view all posts and then search for (for example) Zavvi to see if anyone posted, but have no way of doing it now!

Thanks for this, I ordered 3 Lego Friends sets for my youngest (she has a birthday in November so I can give her one then and the other 2 at Xmas) costing £137 rather than £200 compared with Argos.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a dino mad 4 year old? 😊

Have you got the dinosaur who pooped books? We love them, even my 10 year old still loves and chuckles away when we read them 🤣

Build a bear have blue and t rex from jurassic world in. They are very cute, my daughter loves her blue!

I highly recommend the super colossal blue velociraptor. She has provided hours of fun here, she is huge! She guards the room and loves eating small toys/dinosaurs.

If it is showing near you I also highly recommend tickets for Jurassic Live. Best way i can describe it is holiday park entertainment with impressive realistic life sized dinosaur puppets. They have a Christmas one but we went to the regular one and my 10 year old loved it (she was upper end of the age range there but is quite immature!)

My daughter loves the cave club range of dolls, they come with pretty dinosaurs!

My daughter is also a fan of the dinosaur dig sets, you can get some that are like rocks you use tools for and kinetic sand do some too.

Squishmallow do some dinosaurs too. My daughter loves hers for snuggling up with on the sofa or using as a floor pillow! (The 16" size is her favourite but 12" is good too as a pillow!)

Someaddedsugar · 22/08/2022 23:33

@ChristmasSirens Schleich and Papo dinosaurs are always a hit with our DS. If you're lucky the original party bag co might have some still in stock at 70% off.

I'm not usually on the selfridges website but this popped up. Aqua lock box for £25. Delivery is £5 unfortunately but we have one of these and it gets played with loads.

Inspired by the group, I purchased my first Christmas present. Adidas have 30% off selected items in their school sale so picked up a pair of football boots for my husband. Just hoping they have the right studs (who knew football studs had so many bummin' categories)

Link in case anyone else needs sports gifts for Christmas! www.adidas.co.uk/school

Delighted with my tie dye, navy and unicorn kuddlys from 5pound website but very disappointed with my hot diamonds necklace that I ordered for my birthday. Sending it back unfortunately. Enjoying the bargain fun though 😊

For anyone interested in playmobil I've just found the Luna Skye's play mobile world site. Prices and reviews seem good.

imnottoofussed · 23/08/2022 12:12

Ok I'm a sheep and have eventually ordered a blanket hoodie

Scout2016 · 23/08/2022 12:32

@MadeForThis I have used Luna Skye they are legitimate and the bloke running it is decent to deal with.

MadeForThis · 23/08/2022 12:45

Lego fish tank is £24.99 on Lego.com. Almost £40 elsewhere.

Can anyone help me find any codes for Disney Store online that might work against this plush?😅
Or do I wait it out & hope that they drop on Black Friday?

I don't know how these threads work or if they have to be new but I saw a giant Minnie Mouse soft toy on vinted for I think was a £5 or a giant Minnie and mickey for £30 - they looked like they were in good condition so just thought I'd mention it.

FluffyFluffMonster · 23/08/2022 13:59

@tabbycat985 BLC20-RVFT-B2RV-93AG-DWI6 this should give you 20%. It's a one time code from bluelight

Isonthecase · 23/08/2022 14:08

@ChristmasSirens have you seen the fossil shops for the Dino 4 year old? There were a few recommended on here that sold small fossils and things like teeth. Could be good in a little box for their treasures and maybe with a book?

We also liked the best years knitted dinosaurs although maybe a bit young depending on child - I found HD a reduced one here although not come across the shop before. Dino toy
