It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

@HollyGennero where were the discounted bits in John Lewis. Think I'm going to have a nosey in trafford tomorrow 🙂

ChristmasSirens · 21/08/2022 23:32

Thanks @CakeCrumbs44

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/08/2022 06:41

If anyone has babies to buy for, 'that's not my Teddy' with soft toy is currently half price at Amazon for £7.50

Teddy book

PattyDuke · 22/08/2022 08:28

That's not my Teddy was on Amazon for 4.00 last week and it's 4.50 in Sainsburys. I also think a pp said that Lidl (or could be Aldi) have some of the range for 2.99. Buying for a couple of babies this year.

EverydayIsPJday · 22/08/2022 08:36

Was that the one with the soft toy though?

It was aldi but that's not with the soft toy

TheBatwoman · 22/08/2022 08:41

Aldi did not have the soft toy versions. They had That’s Not My Lion, Giraffe, Frog, Piglet, Car and Truck. Hope that helps.

RJnomore1 · 22/08/2022 08:57

@woodwaj If you go in from the Trafford Centre through the upstairs doors (cooking stuff on your right, glassware on your left) and follow the aisle round to the right they were on the left just after the board games display (in front of the alcohol, opposite side of the aisle from stationery), fingers crossed there are some left or they’ve added more since!

woodwaj · 22/08/2022 10:08

@HollyGennero perfect thank you 🥰 I know exactly where you mean. I might be a little late to the party but it'll be worth a look

CarrotCarrotCucumber · 22/08/2022 11:02

Many thanks for this thread, especially for the Scout Shop and Whistlefish offers (sorry for forgetting who posted those). I was pretty shocked to see that Whistlefish postage is £9.95 this morning, FedEx only: I'm pretty sure it was free yesterday and assume this must be a postal strike thing. Hopefully it isn't the start of a trend!

CakeCrumbs44 · 22/08/2022 11:47

Asda have a new rewards app which seems good. Not christmassy but I made £3 back just doing my normal shopping this week, and if I make that every week between now and December it will go a good way towards the big Christmas shop.

Seems to be valid on everything in store such as clothes and toys, homewares etc (except the obvious exceptions like petrol, gift cards and baby milk)

There’s not much left in the M&S sale but just scored a merino wool jumper for DP for £11.99! They only have XS left now but a lovely gift for a skinny man or teen.

Or indeed women.
I buy all of my casual jumpers from the men’s range at M and S; cheaper, longer and better quality.
For reference I would say an XS is a close fitting 12 or a looser 10.

Boots have this mystery box worth over £30 when you spend £20 on cosmetics. I just got mine today and I am so impressed. Photo below (all full size).

They come up if you search for insoles, they’re £14. Can’t link as it won’t let me copy for some reason!?!

IDontDrinkTea · 22/08/2022 13:31

24 crayola colouring pens on amazon have a voucher you can use so only cost £3.75 - normally £7.89. Good stocking filler.

£9.95 Whistlefish delivery @CarrotCarrotCucumber Shock Shock

Apologies if this has been posted already but Zavvi have 3 for 2 Lego sets until midnight tonight - usual cost around £50 each. My MN experience has never recovered from the site changeover (I still can't use the app at all) so if there is any way of viewing the whole thread I'd be grateful to learn it - I used to view all posts and then search for (for example) Zavvi to see if anyone posted, but have no way of doing it now!

Cheeselog · 22/08/2022 13:53

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl you can still view all posts but you have to do it by going to settings > talk settings and it sets it for all threads instead of being able to choose view 100 on each thread which is annoying!
