It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

Fortnum & Mason have a summer sale on, obviously still expensive but a few things might make nice gifts e.g. their picnic backpacks, some food stuff. However, I did notice that Mountain Warehouse also sell picnic backpacks at much more reasonable prices - £30 in the sale for a 4 person one. So much more practical than a traditional picnic hamper!

@Talisin thanks for the post about turtle dove gloves. I’ve seen them on here for years but never bought any, until
now.

I noticed they had a ‘one of a kind’ section where the gloves were £12 a pair. With the code, less than £10 a pair with free delivery.

Thanks for the turtle doves bargain - I've been wanting some of these for working from home for a few years but could never justify the price - at less than £10 a pair im thrilled!

I also read about the turtle doves for years but finally got a pair last winter and they were ace for working from home. I tend to find my hands get cold easily so these kept me warm and still allowed me to type away happily.

I got my mum a pair with the £10/12 offer recently so hope she loves them too.

@Adelais thanks for the Wimpy Kid game idea - we are big fans in this house so this will go down well 😀

Someone who makes things to give as Christmas presents might be interested in the latest offers at poundfabrics.

examples: dinosaur pumpkins polycotton at £1 per metre, Rose and Hubble sheep fabric , four colours in cotton poplin, at £2.99/ metre and organic cotton poplin pirate animals in three colours at £3:25/metre.

They have some Christmas fabrics starting at £2:50/metre.

I can’t see a way round paying postage, but delivery is quick.

I've finally made an order with The Original Party Bag Co. Some schleich and Papo animals and some other bits for my kids stockings. I usually buy for a local charity who distribute toy bundles to local children at Christmas; some of the puzzles and colouring sets will be great for that - Peppa Pig and Disney Princess are often requested so I couldn't say no to the colouring sets for 89p.

I've blitzed this thread this afternoon - bought a blanket hoody from 5oundstuff, some earrings from hot diamond, got a toothbrush timer coming from South East water and bookmarked some more stuff to consider.
