It feels bizarre setting up the first Christmas thread on one of the hottest days of the year, yet here we are!

Lovely to see you all; take a seat and grab a mince pie as they get passed around.

Please do alert me to anything for the next thread's page of links (I'm starting fresh this year). Hope you've had a good year and looking forward to celebrating and sharing our bargain buys.

Fitbit is now a Tesco rewards partner with 3x voucher value. Just ordered an adult Fitbit and kids (£50) Fitbit for teen and younger DS for free, well P&P but I’ll let it go this time.

Thanks so much for this. DH is after a Fitbit and I was tasked this weekend with finding the Versa 3 as cheap as poss. Already a good price on the Tesco/Fitbit site and have £30 of vouchers to use 😀

@Mrsuntidy LIDL have been known to do a dupe of Kapla- we bought a couple of buckets of it about five years ago, still in use with labels on saying £5.99 reduced to £4.20. This isn't my ebay listing (as the DC is not ready to give up on them yet), but this is the stuff: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192197102502
Brio is also good via LIDL and Ebay (although it was outgrown earlier in this house).

Has anybody used the company cottontwist.co.uk? They have some lovely crafty kits for stocking fillers but I've never heard of them so don't know what quality is like. Thinking of ordering a few sets for dds

There's 2 for £7 on popular children's books on Amazon. I've just picked up a couple of tom fletcher books today.
2 for £7

Also, don't know if everyone knows this but if you search something generic on Amazon e.g Lego then click the filters at the top you can select 'All discounts' and it will show you all the currently discounted Lego. I use this as my son is really into stunts and Mario Lego but isn't fussed exactly which set he gets so it lets me buy whatever is a good deal at the time.

In Wayfair's clearance section they have about 20 different scents of these tealights. The description says they come as three packs of 6 (18 altogether) so for about a tenner you can get three smelly stocking stuffers:
The grilled peach scent one

@christmaspudding43 Love the festive name! Celtic & Co just mailed me this for £10 off a £10 spend if that's any good? Looks pretty generic 10UKEA22

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 20/08/2022 18:54

Is there any good offers for boxes of chocolate?

Plaidparty · 20/08/2022 19:50

I would be eternally grateful if anyone could shout if they come across any Doc McStuffins stuff! My daughter is obsessed but as it’s not a current show, the stuff available is soooo limited. Thank you in advance!

LemonFrosting · 20/08/2022 19:54

I'm looking for remote controld car!vehicle/monster truck thing, not a big thing. Something that can handle being run into the wall and not break easily! Any recommendations please?

We have one similar to This

It's proven indestructible so far as you can only really hit the wheel and then it just flips over. Even I can drive it 😀

Scout2016 · 20/08/2022 20:11

I had a quick check on Vinted and there is some Doc McStuffins stuff there - just depends on the age of your recipient/if they (or you) would be bothered by it not being brand new…

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 20/08/2022 20:25

@Plaidparty My daughter was the same last year with Doc Mcstuffins, I blame Disney+. Not barginous but I found a couple of bits on Very.

AlabamaWorley22 · 20/08/2022 20:44

They don’t have any sales at the moment but if you register their offers are very generous. They do sample sales with lovely stuff for about £10 and then they send out £10 vouchers (I usually get them by text actually) quite regularly. The vouchers appear to be generic though so I will post here when I get one 👍🏻. Think last year I used the code in three separate transactions to get earrings for about £10 for three gifts.

We've used them a few times - a great small business!

Scout2016 · 20/08/2022 20:53

@AlabamaWorley22 thank you. I've signed up too and will try to have some willpower, there's time!

gracelessladyhottramp · 20/08/2022 20:53

For those that have done orders for
The Original Party bag company - I did a really big order and then worried afterwards!! It arrived about a week after I ordered and there were only a few items missing. They were really helpful when I emailed and refunded missing items immediately.

There are a couple of things in Smyths at the moment too. Nothing too much of a bargain unfortunately though!

I have used them only recently but for quite a few gifts and all have been lovely, as previous poster said a lovely small buisness :)
