Overnight, DS has acquired an interest in wearing nice gear. He was a band tshirt gut and has told me he would love some graphic Ts but is "over" the band T shirt thing. He is NOT into football.
I am so out of the loop - what are the "on trend" brands now for lads?

Thanks Kitten, I've just got a Nakatomi Plaza TShirt 👍

Not sure about the majority of these brands tbh. I can't see any self respecting teen wearing a lot of it .. smacks of middle aged geek bloke, some of the links

My teens likes and wears ...

Nike tech hoodies and joggers
Hoodrich
Armani Hmm
More Nike tech

@I8toys

So glad my 18 year old doesn't care for labels. He likes what he likes. He wears adidas and under armour for the gym. H&M, Hollister and god forbid Next jeans. Loves buying band t shirts from gigs. Just bought himself a t shirt from Primark. I love that he is not fussed by names.
I dont think its the names as such, just good graphic Ts that arent band ones.

Redbubble?

"Artwork Designs By Independent Artists"

Imissmoominmama · 21/12/2021 04:44

*supergloo

Dancingsmile
Supreme
Carhartt

You won't go wrong with either of those two.
I have never seen anyone wearing these!*

You’ve clearly never seen my DS2 then! Grin

I dont have a teenage boy so might be off the mark but for graphic tees that aren't band ones how about qwertee? My dd (13) has several from there. Me and DH wear them too, we are a geeky/alternative dressing family 😆

Or EMP have decent tshirts. Some band ones, alternative graphic prints, geeky, film/TV shows. Bit of everything on there.

H&M are pretty good, And decent quality too, I would say the style is similar to the band tee and jeans but more mainstream. So plenty of graphic tshirts that aren't band ones.

Or sometimes I grab some from Primark, got dd a coca cola one, Rick and morty and dragonball z recently. (She wears mens as hates fitted clothing!)

Could you pick up a couple from high street shops, ask for a gift receipt then if they are wrong he could exchange them after Christmas. Or EMP are free returns.

Not helpful- but vintage clothes seem to be most popular. Eldest son (17) often goes to the place you can buy loads of vintage/pre-loaded by the weight. Some of the things he wears are NOT what I would have guessed for him a year or so ago, but pretty cool.

Champion (retro sporty) popular and also Dickies (think that is more skater style though). He also likes just having a couple of plain white tees.

A couple of years ago it was a make called Nicce, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klien- I would get the second 2 from York Outlet for reasonable prices in Jan sale (about £15-20 per tee).

I sympathise as it's nice to give them a couple of 'surprises'to unwrap but hard second guessing their style.

Maybe ask him to show you a couple examples online to give you a ball park idea.

I8toys · 21/12/2021 09:58

Where did the fashion for dickies come from? I always think they look like they're going painting and decorating. Smile

Do teenagers genuinely wear something like a supreme hoodie costing over £500 ? I can’t imagine ever spending that much on 1 item of clothing for a teenager.

You don’t buy Supreme on farfetch. Only on the Supreme site itself. Farfetch sell clothing 10 times the price sometimes, it is stock that has already been sold out.

Mine like Tommy Hilfiger and North Face is currently very 'in'. Some of their friends also wear Patagonia.
