If you include Secret santa e.g at work, Scouts leader, neighbours or whoever is on your list.

I have an acquaintance who said he bought for his wife, son and one niece. He is about 65

I feel quite overwhelmed with gift buying. We have about 75 people on our list Shock
This includes a lot of family - DH's side. A lot of the presents are token presents e g £7 voucher to cousins of his I would not recognise but he has always done this and doesn't want to stop.
We have lots of Godchildren between us too and their parents are old friends we buy stuff for. Nothing too expensive but it does add up.

I can't see it changing but wondering if you anyone else has a similarly high number of presents to buy

That should say it would be really low.
I am just glad Christmas present shopping is a pleasure rather than a pain and I think keeping numbers sensible is best for everyone.
It’s also a lot better for the environment.

Iusedtobeasister · 15/12/2021 19:19

Just one. It makes me very sad

TractorAndHeadphones · 15/12/2021 19:41

Nobody. Only need to buy for DP’s families and I leave him to it 😂
My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas

DH
DC x2
DGP x4
Teachers/clubs x4
Niece/Nephews x 9
Friends DC x2

EllaPaella · 15/12/2021 22:07

My parents
FIL
My sisters kids (4 of them)
My best friends kids (2 of them)
My 3 children and my stepdaughter
My sister and her husband
My secretary at work
Secret Santa at work
My husband

I don't buy for nieces and nephews on DH's side, none of is do as there are just too many! We just buy for birthdays for them.
Problem is we have about 6 family birthdays in December as well, including two of my DC. It's an expensive month!

EllaPaella · 15/12/2021 22:08

Oh and my two best friends as well!

littleblackno · 15/12/2021 22:22

I buy for
2 x DC
DM
DNiece
5 of my close friends but no more than £10 on each of them.

DMs friend is coming for Xmas Dinner this year and I will get him a token gift to open when he's here (he's 90 lives alone, no family and spent last Xmas alone as the friend he usually spends Xmas with passed away- he was invited here but lockdown scupperd that).

VeryNiceWoman · 15/12/2021 22:26

4 - DS, Aunt, Niece &. nice neighbour (£5-10 ish) - occasionally I also might just randomly buy something small for someone else on a whim.

8Track · 15/12/2021 22:50

DP and I buy for each other

We buy:
dog
cat

I buy:
mum
brother
Brother's partner
2 x godmothers
2 x friends
2 x friend's children
1 x work secret santa

  1. I'm surprised its so many!
SleepingStandingUp · 15/12/2021 22:54

@pinkksugarmouse
Tbf 15 are kids from school so an age appropriate book and some chocs. 13 are kids of friends similar ages to mine so easy to buy something they'll like. 16 are family who will give ideas. 3 of my own kids and DH. It's not the same as ours spent picking £50 presents for 50 people

VetOnCall · 16/12/2021 01:45

I think maybe 20ish humans between the 2 of us, and a lot of dogs Grin Most of them are more than 1 gift though, DP and Mum especially are a lot more.

DP
Mum
Stepdad
1 close friend
2 DC of other close friend
Work Secret Santa
Friend group Secret Santa
CrossFit friend group Secret Santa
Dogs x 10 (5 are ours!)

We don't buy for (step)siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. in my family, and there are no grandparents left now sadly.

Then there's DP's parents, brother and SIL, nephew and niece, aunt and uncle, grandparents, other grandfather, and his various Secret Santas - he sorts all of those himself.

Notdoingthis · 16/12/2021 02:43

Dh
3xdc
11xcousins
4xdgp
10xsiblings
4xteachers
That's 33 I think.

halloweenie13 · 16/12/2021 03:48

Xanadu58 · 16/12/2021 06:56

stmw123 · 16/12/2021 16:05

Partner, mum, dad, sister and 2 nephews.
So 6.

UndertheCedartree · 16/12/2021 16:31

My BF, DD, DS, kid's dad (from them), my parents DNwx3, DNx2, kid's cousin on dad's side, flowers for godmother and aunty. Then DD's 2 teachers and TA, Brown Owl and Tawny Owl. Oh and the cat of course! So 20! That seems a lot to me - I can't imagine 75 😮😮😮

I help my BF with his shopping (as I enjoy it - he doesn't get me doing wifework!) He shops for me, his mum, sister, DNwx2, DNx2 and little great-nephew - total of 7

lightisnotwhite · 16/12/2021 20:39
