I love cheese - it’s a real indulgence at Christmas. I like to get a few different sorts in and always try something new. What are your favourites and recommendations that I can look out for this year?

I never met a cheese I didn't like. Love Stilton and a really strong cheddar.

My ultimate favourite is the edges of cheddar when it's gone hard and just turning mouldy.

30not13 · 01/12/2021 01:00

That stripy one 🙈

ColinRobinson · 01/12/2021 01:04

Dorset blue vinny
Godmanstone vintage cheddar
Curds & Croust Russet Squire which I haven’t been able to get for ages 🙁

Minceandonions · 01/12/2021 07:23

A high quality Stilton, left at room temperature for a couple of days. It's the single biggest reason why I could never go vegan!

FireworkParrot · 01/12/2021 10:31

Yeah cheese is the reason I can't be vegan too! I don't eat a lot of meat at all, I could be vegetarian quite easily I think but I couldn't give up cheese.

Actually this thread is dangerous as I put a second cheese order in last night after reading it Xmas Shock.

FireworkParrot · 01/12/2021 10:33

And the only cheeses I don't like are Wensleydale with cranberries and anything smoked. Other than that, bring on the cheeseboard!

NightmareSlashDelightful · 01/12/2021 10:33

Onionbhajisandwich · 01/12/2021 19:20

@jacqelinedaniels yes!!! The Cornish cruncher! I’d forgotten all about that one! I’m going to have to pop to m and s tomorrow now!

So many to choose from! I love Wensleydale with cranberries too, and halloumi, and Boursin, and Camembert, and old Amsterdam. It’s going to be a good Christmas for cheese this year!
