All time favourite Christmas song?

Mines got to be Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Frank Sinatra, but the modern versions (Buble, Sam Smith Et al) are also grand.

This song just instantly puts me in the Christmas mood. Hot chocolates, stockings hanging from the fireplace, cosy jumpers, frost on the windows, love and laughter

The others I love are It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas, Merry Christmas Everyone. and Silent Night (ok that's a carol, but same thing).

And too many carols to name here, but In The Bleak Midwinter would be one of the top. Proper choirs only, though, no ‘slebs’ with breathy voices and ‘beautiful new arrangements’, thanks, 🤮

My favourite is a Welsh Carol Tua Bethlem dre. I also like the calypso carol, I also like the Carol of the bells. Pop size it must be walking in a winter wonderland

Tbh I love most Christmas songs, there’s just some I listen to 2 way more than others.

Though if I am honest, I love pretty much all the Christmas music - from the most serious of classical music to the most kitsch Christmas songs. Very soon, I will be dusting off the Christmas cds, to be the sound track to all the wrapping, card writing and baking. Can’t wait!

At Christmas I like to play the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack, and also the Smith and Burrows Christmas album.

The Johnny Mathis version of It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas is the favourite in our family.

We start playing it on 1st December typically as our (now teenage) DCs are getting up for school when it's still dark - it's magical.

We first heard it on Home Alone but I think it's recently become a trend on TikTok in December, so a little ubiquitous now.

Also from Home Alone, we love Johnny Mathis' It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. In fact his The Best of Christmas album is, IMO, the best Christmas album ever!

It reminds me of when they took over the TOTP Christmas special in December 1995 (I think). I was wrapping presents while watching it and it was their final song.

I love O Come O Come Emmanuel, because it was the first we sang aeons ago in school assembly at the beginning of Advent - so it meant Christmas was coming.
