What do you treat yourself to at Christmas that you don’t have any other time of the year?

Mine is my mums rocky road. She makes me a tray every year and it’s delicious Grin I also like a jar of cherries in kirsch for Christmas week - I have them on ice cream or chocolate cake.

@nettytree

Florentines. Its the only thing I go to aldi for.
Me too!!! Best ones out there!
LaCerbiatta · 19/11/2021 14:49

Zotter chocolate, panettone, stollen, chestnuts and lebkuchen 🙂

MintyGreenDream · 19/11/2021 14:49

Toffifee,chocolate orange,mini sausage rolls,salted peanuts

maofteens · 19/11/2021 15:11

Egg nog. Got some American stuff off Amazon.

FlorenceNightshade · 19/11/2021 15:15

Halloumi wrapped in bacon from Aldi. Although to be fair I only treat myself to these at Christmas as they aren’t available year round! If only they were…….

Honeymint · 19/11/2021 16:10

Probably because my grandma always had them for Christmas, but to me marzipans fruits, fruit jellies and chocolate coins will always be the most iconic festive treats!

ISpyCobraKai · 19/11/2021 16:11

Cheese, all the cheese, cheese × 1000.

lazylinguist · 19/11/2021 16:23

Stollen. Mince pies.

There's nothing I eat at Christmas that I wouldn't allow myself the rest of the year tbh - but some things just feel a bit incongruous at other times. Whereas cheese is just a (delicious) normal everyday thing in my house!

LH1987 · 19/11/2021 16:30

Boursin, I have no idea why only at Christmas because I love it!

Baileys.

Full sugar coke, I love it and drink it with my Christmas dinner (very classy Grin)

Christmas1988 · 19/11/2021 16:42

Lots of boxes of panettone! I only ever buy Pringles at Christmas I’m not overly keen but the children and DH like them. It wouldn’t be Christmas without Twiglets.

FarrahformerlySwtPea · 19/11/2021 16:43

Torrone from tkmaxx...yum!

MissBridgetJones · 19/11/2021 16:46

Macaron - and I hide them
From prying eyes and grubby mitts x

MeatyRvita · 19/11/2021 16:50

ALL the cheese and crackers 👌
Also those cheap frozen cocktail sausage rolls (I know they’re absolute crap but I absolutely adore them once they’ve gone cold)

SunshineCake1 · 19/11/2021 16:52

@orchardgirl4

Roast goose, snowballs, quality street, mince pies, a special home-made cheese pate (sooo tasty on toast, melted under the grill).
Please could we have your cheese pate recipe? Sounds lovely.
FluffMagnet · 19/11/2021 16:55

Marzipan fruits - makes me sound so old but I love them!

Newdad19 · 19/11/2021 16:55

Does anyone know of any champagne deals or when they typically come up?

Newdad19 · 19/11/2021 16:56

Sorry wrong thread 😃 but champagne will be on our list!

SpeedRunParent · 19/11/2021 17:50

Lebkuchen, panettone, pate...pigs in blankets, erm...

FuzzyPuffling · 19/11/2021 17:57

Lidl's marzipan logs and their florentines.

KohlaParasaurus · 19/11/2021 18:07

Expensive all butter shortbread. Apart from that, Christmas food is a bit rubbish for me because it's either full of nuts and dried fruit, which play havoc with my innards, or cinnamon and nutmeg, which I hate. Cheese, roast beast and trimmings and nice chocolate are for life, not just for Christmas.

Awalkintime · 19/11/2021 18:10

Cheese.
I have no off switch for cheese so I just don't buy it as my willpower is 0 around it. I let myself have a few nice cheeses over Christmas and then back to abstinence for the rest of the year!

iloverainandrainbows · 19/11/2021 18:34

@troppibambini6, please may I have your Christmas granola recipe?

snugglyblanket · 19/11/2021 18:48

All the food Blush Especially florentines & lebkuchen. I'm also easily swayed by festive packaging on stuff we'd normally buy anyway but might not need, like extra crisps/nuts. This year, rather than sticking all the treats in the cupboard & replacing the florentines several times, I've made us a family advent with mostly food treats, to make sure we spread them out.

Onionbhajisandwich · 19/11/2021 19:21

@Newdad19 I read somewhere that sainsburys has an offer starting this week on 6 bottles. Might be worth a look.
