For me it's:

Christmas eve box
Advebt calendars
December 1st box
Breakfast with Santa
Crackers
Pantomime (love musical theatre though)
Bread sauce
Christmas pudding and cake. Love a yule log!

Don’t do Christmas Eve or Dec boxes and bread sauce isn’t really a thing in Ireland. Also I’ve never heard of breakfast with Santa.

Trying to think what I’m not fussed about but it’s hard! Brandy butter is all I can come up with but I’m sure other people’s list will resonate with me.

Sundancerintherain · 06/11/2021 15:19

Well, adult DC here and living abroad.
Easier to say the bits that I am fussed with.
Spending time with family and friends
Nativity story / advent
Food.

When did December 1st box and breakfast with Santa become a thing?? I missed that memo.

Obviously those two things are at the top of my list! Grin. I also don't do Christmas Eve boxes (are they in place of stockings?), bread sauce or brandy anything (but especially butter).

I do love a big ol' glittery Advent Calendar though (for me- my boys are heathens and like chocolate ones).

Holidaytan · 06/11/2021 15:26

Most of it. It’s nice and all but……. We’re going to Miami this year for a road trip.

TeeTotaller1 · 06/11/2021 15:28

All of it
I don't do it
It's just another day for me

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/11/2021 15:28

all of it

as long as we sit down on time to watch Die Hard on Christmas Eve and nobody is ill or needs A&E I'm happy

Giveemtheoldrazzledazzle · 06/11/2021 15:29

What’s a December 1st box?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 06/11/2021 15:29

Since you asked - I don't like any of it. Would be quite happy to ignore the whole thing Grin

indiesearcher · 06/11/2021 15:30

I'm not fussed about crackers, party poppers, tins of crappy chocolates...

Also not a fan of naff Christmas markets, it's a lovely thing in Germany, less so in my local town!

I can pass on office parties too and the need to 'fit everyone in' - I loved the quiet of last Christmas.

Blue lights, ick.

Elf on the shelf.

Over the top Santa experiences. In fact Santa, he should be Father Christmas!

MIL buying too much small plastic crap for DC which largely ends up in landfill.

Vanuatu · 06/11/2021 15:31

Christmas dinner

Malibuismysecrethome · 06/11/2021 15:35

Chocolate, Turkey and anything with mincemeat or currents and dried fruit.

GaladrielHiggins · 06/11/2021 15:35

Not fussed about all the extra trimmings and sauces, as long as I have turkey, roasties, veg and gravy I’m happy.
Crackers - lots of plastic tat
Party food
I’m actually not all that fussed about presents, apart from those for DS, although I do like a good beauty advent calendar
The Queens Speech

mrsbyers · 06/11/2021 15:38

The glorified roast dinner , last year we have some M&S party food and doing same this year

baggies · 06/11/2021 15:42

No Christmas cake
Mince pies
Stollen
Bread sauce
Red cabbage
Brandy butter
Christmas pudding
Christmas Eve boxes
1 December boxes
Santa breakfast

KineticSand · 06/11/2021 15:45

Blue and cold white Christmas lights
Flashing Christmas lights
Smoked salmon
Elf on the shelf
Those bird in a bird in a bird roast things
For the sake of it "gift sets" of stuff people probably don't want.
Plastic crap

Otherwise I mostly love it especially while DC little

Hbh17 · 06/11/2021 15:46

Absolutely all of it - can we just skip December & go straight to January?

hulahoopqueen · 06/11/2021 15:47

No to Christmas cake, stollen and Christmas pudding. I could be less bothered about the turkey, but we're hosting DH's lot this year and apparently "it isn't Christmas without a turkey" 🙄

Elf on a shelf can get tae fuck.

Thecomfortador · 06/11/2021 15:50

Panto.
Elf on the shelf
Christmas markets
Office parties, very much prefer just being at home and not socialising
Secret bloody Santa

CallMeRisley · 06/11/2021 15:51

Agree with panto- it makes me cringe even though I do like musical theatre like you OP! I always get grandparents or DD’s dad (we’re divorced to take her!)

I had never previously been fussed on Christmas Eve boxes but I have got them for the first time this year- DD is 7yo and I have baby DD who is 8mo will be her first Christmas, so I’m giving it a go!

I’m a vegetarian and don’t like roast dinner, even veggie roast dinner, don’t like gravy etc so not fussed about the dinner. Prefer to load up on party/buffet type food- cheeseboard etc.

Amdone123 · 06/11/2021 15:51

I have never had bread sauce. It sounds awful and I'm not fussy. I eat anything.
I think Christmas lunch is the best lunch ever.
I've never bought or made Christmas cake.

AuntieStella · 06/11/2021 15:52

Elf on the shelf
Christmas Eve boxes
I'd never even heard of 1 Dec stuff and breakfast with Santa!

Mincemeat, Christmas pudding/brandy butter, and Christmas cake
Panettone and stollen

Matching pyjamas
Special duvet covers
Themed decorations (especially those changed annually, so wasteful!)

Reindeer food that includes glitter (the environmentally unfriendly types)

TheDuchessOfMN · 06/11/2021 15:52

Turkey

tsmainsqueeze · 06/11/2021 15:52

Tat
Crackers
C.eve boxes
Elf on shelf.
Feeling the need to cram loads in .
Bread sauce.
Xmas celebrity special tv programmes.
Pantomimes.
Receiving gifts.
Advent calendars , do love a traditional paper one though.
Cards.
Gift sets.

YorkieTheRabbit · 06/11/2021 15:54

Not fussed for Christmas dinner, prefer turkey when it’s cold, don’t like stuffing and not fussed for pigs in blankets
I will be making Christmas pudding and cake next week
I’ll cook turkey on Christmas Eve and have that with pork pie, nice chutney, dips salad and crusty bread. Christmas Day I’m cooking curry Grin
