OK, i feel like im about to burst and its getting worse every day so i think i need to write it all down..

Im 20 and have 2 ds's and this is my first xmas on my own, Im not spending it with my mum because she moved away a while ago and cant get down there, Im not spending it with my dps family as they do not like me or anyone there ds goes out with and have sworn not to invite me this year even though ive been seeing him a year now.

I was supposed to be spending it with my brothers who live in the midlands like me but they were in a little car crash and the car was written off luckily no one was hurt but now i have no way off getting to theres on xmas so that has been cancelled.

Yes its bothering me that i am spending xmas with so few ppl this year but it would be bearable if i had even a little money to do it with.

See income support have cut my money off because i refuse to claim child maintanence as it would cause stress and possibly harm to me and my boys leaving me in a bad state with money, add that onto the fact that i already have a 3 1/2 grand debt that i cant pay off and the council are threatening to kick me out and its just dire, This week i cant even afford to buy milk for ds2 and next week ill be lucky if i can buy nappies...

I have barely any food in the house and no drink other than water so i cant make an xmas dinner other than cheap chips and beans, I havnt even brought many presents for the boys because moneys tight but i have run up a debt now with littlewoods on creditto buy them what i have.

Add to this the fact that my ds1 is 3 on the 29th and then theres news years eve which will be spent in the same was as xmas then u might grasp how im feeling at the moment..

I just dont know how to cope this year or even if ill have a house the next one if things carry on the way they are..

If you got this far then thanks for listening to me...

Wilted - I used to go to Edwards No 8 (before it burned down and before I was pregnant)other than that we'd go to scruffy's
Since I've been pregnant all our spare cash (not that there's really been much to speak of) has been going towards baby stuff so no evenings/weekends out I'm afraid!

TheWiltedRose · 14/12/2007 17:51

Yeah i know about being skint lol I havnt been to edwards since its burnt down either im not even sure if its in the same place anymore or if it moved!

I think they've tried a few relocation ideas one of which being the goista green pub I think, but I'm not really sure! there's nothing really left in brum now anyway, let's just hope that there's a bit of a revival by the time the kids are old enough to indulge!
Hows the christmas preparation going? Are things on the up and up yet?

TheWiltedRose · 14/12/2007 17:59

Ill take them to where i go now lol and Hope they dont get up to half as much as i did!

Well as 4 xmas, i have lots of food and chocolate to eat on the day! and lovely people have given me clothes do the boys look decent too and even some toys have come through so i can wrap up some extra stuff to make it look liek theres lots lol

No tree or decs yet but im hoping freecycle comes up on top 4 that if not ill have to get crafting and ruin the room lol

Really good to see things are looking better christmas wise.
What makes you think you need a tree for christmas? We've not got one! DP got hold of a Thunderbird 3 cardboard cut out (you know one of the promotional stand type thingy's they have in DVD stores) and I've been decorating that for christmas the last 3 years running! It's a definate conversation starter the first time people see it!

denbury · 14/12/2007 18:05

god help you. it's always harder at christmas. if i was in the midlands i would have yo round our house. i love people round esp if they have kids. can we send you anything pratical?

shoshaliteupthetree · 14/12/2007 18:15

TWR, so glad that you're sorted for essentials for the immediate future.

How are things going with getting your benefits properly adjusted?

lilmissmummy's recommendation of www.welcare.org looks well worth a look too.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 14/12/2007 18:33

I've come ito this thread far too late to be of any help where help hasn't already been given, but I just wanted to say... God, I love this forum! How good is all this? You ladies are amazing!

Rose, can you believe that in under a week, you have made so many wonderful friends and just when you thought things couldn't get any bleaker, Mumsnet comes up trumps! I am in awe of this, I really am!

I hope you and your boys can have a wonderful Christmas Rose, in the knowledge that where ever you are, you have more friends and support than you could ever have imagined!

Merry Christmas Rose!

Pk616 · 14/12/2007 18:45

It is a little on the large side but We love it! (We suspend the thing from the celing the rest of the year so storage isn't a problem either!) You've gotta have a laugh in your own home haven't you!!!!

Alambil · 14/12/2007 22:40

Have you sent off for the Batteries Not Included leaflet too?

Look out for fake trees in the sale, won't you - they do drop in price quite a bit and don't forget garden centres if you can get to them - they usually have brilliant sales.

Also, just as an aside; try to get as many things for next christmas as you can afford in every sale in 2008. This is how I afforded (ha!) christmas this year; well, mostly.

Don't mean to sound patronising or anything - just sharing my lessons

There may be an extra something in the parcel too but you must promise to keep it for yourself!

essanel · 14/12/2007 22:41

hi there have just sent you an email!

MummyPenguin · 14/12/2007 23:24

Have read your OP WiltedRose. You poor thing. A thought popped into my head - what about HomeStart? Is that what it's called? Don't know much about it, but I think it's an organisation for people in similar situations to yourself. Google it, see if there's one near you and get some info on it, it may well be useful. Good luck and hugs. Off to have a look at the photos of your boys now

MummyPenguin · 14/12/2007 23:27
