OK, i feel like im about to burst and its getting worse every day so i think i need to write it all down..

Im 20 and have 2 ds's and this is my first xmas on my own, Im not spending it with my mum because she moved away a while ago and cant get down there, Im not spending it with my dps family as they do not like me or anyone there ds goes out with and have sworn not to invite me this year even though ive been seeing him a year now.

I was supposed to be spending it with my brothers who live in the midlands like me but they were in a little car crash and the car was written off luckily no one was hurt but now i have no way off getting to theres on xmas so that has been cancelled.

Yes its bothering me that i am spending xmas with so few ppl this year but it would be bearable if i had even a little money to do it with.

See income support have cut my money off because i refuse to claim child maintanence as it would cause stress and possibly harm to me and my boys leaving me in a bad state with money, add that onto the fact that i already have a 3 1/2 grand debt that i cant pay off and the council are threatening to kick me out and its just dire, This week i cant even afford to buy milk for ds2 and next week ill be lucky if i can buy nappies...

I have barely any food in the house and no drink other than water so i cant make an xmas dinner other than cheap chips and beans, I havnt even brought many presents for the boys because moneys tight but i have run up a debt now with littlewoods on creditto buy them what i have.

Add to this the fact that my ds1 is 3 on the 29th and then theres news years eve which will be spent in the same was as xmas then u might grasp how im feeling at the moment..

I just dont know how to cope this year or even if ill have a house the next one if things carry on the way they are..

If you got this far then thanks for listening to me...

you're welcome wilted rosie. Hope you have a nice nap!

the reconsideration or supersession has to be done by a different officer. Ask for the full names of everyone you deal with as well. subtly threaten contacting your Mp ( in face, do consider contacting your MP, because complaints via an MP are dealt with lickety spit.)

NotquiteChristmasyet · 12/12/2007 17:48

Good idea PSS - and don't forget Rose that you can use Mumsnetters to read through your letter to check it, before you send it!

Enjoy that nap!

Oh btw has anyone had any dealings with littlewoods online?
What will happen if i dont get the minimum payment there asking for by the date they want it, will they add extra or something?
Need to know because the buggers are after £100 by the 22nd dec and here was me thinking it was cheaper to buy and pay in installments!

Hi Rose,
I have some clothes my DS (nearly 4) has finished with, including a couple of coats and some jumpers. Any good to you? Email me if you are interested at tarantelle (at) tiscali dot co dot uk.

Here's to a better 2008

Alambil · 12/12/2007 19:56

Have just washed the clothes, Rose - they are on the airer drying tonight and will be posted on Friday (so to be totally dry).

Hope that is ok?

Have a good evening - the clothes are as listed on the other page so you know what is coming - may help to decide if you want any other offers of help etc etc.

Just wanted to add your boys are beautiful. You are not a failure - you can't be to produce such lovely boys. The system isn't foolprrof I'm afraid. BTW I have some 18m+ clothes inlcuding a warm coat (age 2), fleece and bodywarmer. I've also got some bodysuits and pyjamas which are all in pretty good nick. My sister and her mates pass clothes around and I'm at the end so I've got loads! If there's anything you need, please email me and I'll have a dig around and see what I've got. I was going to pass them on to a mate, but she doesn't need them.

Hi Rose

CAB can help you with debt planning as well as advising on the CSA/benefits. You might need a second session to fit it all in, but it will be worth it. They are very helpful and have lots of practical advice to offer.

have got all tearful reading this...my ds younger than yours so we havent got anything to hand on but some practical advice. get your MP to challenge the benefits decision, they do cases like this every day so are well up on the rules and often their intervention alone will make benefits people sit up and listen.
if you are in wolverhampton it will be one of ken purchase/pat mcfadden/rob marris - if you're not sure who it is go to this website www.parliament.uk/about/how/members/mps_contact.cfm and put your postcode in and it will tell you who it is and then you can look up the office numbers. they will probably have an advice surgery this weekend that you can go to, take all the paperwork etc you've got, they can also give you advice about debts tho probably it will only be to go to the CAB! get them also to go through with you that you and dp are claiming everything you should be entitled to. whatever you do DONT take out a consolidation loan to pay off your debts they are pretty much all ripoffs.
you are so not the only person in this position and you are very young to have to cope with all this.
good luck and hope you have a lovely xmas
