please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

I had to have a break from the past few threads to control my spending Grin but I am just wondering if anyone can help with my search for a nice nativity, preferably that lights up? My parents have this fiber optic one from about 25 years ago that is no longer made www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fibre-Optic-Christmas-Nativity-Scene-Set-/233787095635?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 and I want to get a similar one for my grandparents, but I think it will end up going for quite a lot.

They have seen one on Amazon for but the quality looks awful so hoping I can track down a better one if I can't get hold of the eBay one.

Lockdownlumpy · 22/11/2020 09:44

Re heated throws, either Aldi or Lidl had them recently or are getting them in soon. Can't remember which now though. Worth a check as they were definitely cheaper than lakeland.

TheSilentStars · 22/11/2020 09:49

@BalaamsAss LisaAngel are just starting, or about to start a pre-Christmas "sale" if I remember my inbox from earlier this week.

Someone asked about Belkin or Ankler ear pods. DD has Ankler ones, they were bought from Amazon in Oct 2019 and have been used every single day since for at least 3-4 hours. She's just pointed out that they are starting not to keep their charge for long- so wants new ones for Christmas. I paid £18 for the Ankler so tbh, they've more than paid for themselves and then some. I might look to get something a bit more spendy (but only reduced!) this time.

silky86 · 22/11/2020 09:52

@MsMiaWallace I wondered that too - looks like the 'velvitiser' heats to 80 whereas the frother to just 65

Elphaba17 · 22/11/2020 09:56

Maybe a silly question about the velvetiser/milk frothers but here goes. I see lots of reviews saying the milk isn't warm enough etc. Can you just heat a little in the microwave first and then use to get your own preferred temp? I love cappuccinos, but like my milk quite hot so this has always put me off buying one.

buckeejit · 22/11/2020 10:01

The velvetiser is not hot hot but just the right temperature for drinking when it's made

Bridecilla · 22/11/2020 10:02

Dp has just brought all his records home from his Mam's loft

Could anyone recommend a record player to sit on a shelf? He has Amazon vouchers so bonus if it could be bought through them. Does a record player that links to Alexa exist as a thing?

thegirlwithkaleidoscopeeyes · 22/11/2020 10:07

Got the Aldi dupe velvetiser. Before I hit buy, can I ask if anyone who already has one thinks this Callebaut hot chocolate will be ok to use in it please?

mummyof2boys30 · 22/11/2020 10:18

Any decent but cheap lava lamps? Having a santa drama in our house at the minute and what we have got isnt on the list any more 😭 including the ps5 we have got. He has additional needs so will be getting it anyway as i know he will love it

Chailatte20 · 22/11/2020 10:23

@sugarplumfairy2010

Looking for a cheap mini fridge for my 10 Yr old to keep cans of pop in his room. Thankyou x
You're brave, my two will be drinking me out of house & home and having half their teeth taken out if they had their own fridge.

Try Argos for mini/beer chiller fridges.

BalaamsAss · 22/11/2020 10:26

@HoHoHolyMackerel I can’t recommend a specific disco ball because the one we have is no longer available. However, it’s very similar to these ones from Amazon

It’s more of a light than a ball but it‘s perfect for kids and also connects via Bluetooth so you can use it as a speaker too.

The one we have is GHB brand (GoHappyBuy I think!) and was only £14.99. I honestly expected it to last a couple of months at most but nearly 4 years on it’s still going strong and my DTs (age 10) still love it.

1stMrsF · 22/11/2020 10:28

Thanks also from me re the Aldi Velvetiser. I hadn't seen them advertised so wouldn't have known If not for this thread. Thanks

Have managed to buy a stainless steel one for my DSis (copper one sold out now for info, fine for me because she will prefer stainless anyway). Still available now if you are quick!

TonMoulin · 22/11/2020 10:36

At some point on one of these thread, someone talked about weighted blanket
Except that ...errr... I can't find it again.

So.. for a retake, anyone who could advice on weighted blanket and maybe coupon for them?

TheLastStarfighter · 22/11/2020 10:39

@TonMoulin was it this one?

I got one in the large size and it is great.

UniversalTruth · 22/11/2020 10:54

@recklessgran is the Lakeland code still available please?

ILikeBiscuits · 22/11/2020 10:54

Aldo Hot Chocolate Maker In Stainless Steel is currently just available to pre-order. Delivery is from 29 November.

There were 9 available to buy about 15 minutes ago so some may fall out of baskets in the next few minutes.

moonbabyandthebeast · 22/11/2020 10:57

@Scout2016 I recently bought my newly horse obsessed 7 year old the Lori doll stables and horses/riders from Smyth's for her birthday. In my opinion they r reasonably priced compared to other horse toys and seem well made - she loves them.

Jessiegirl · 22/11/2020 10:57

I saw someone asking about a telescope a few pages back and I’d love a recommendation as well. My Dd10 has asked for one and I’d like to try get her something decent. I haven’t a clue.

Carrie76 · 22/11/2020 10:57

@mummyof2boys30 I’ve bought my 6yr old a lava lamp from Argos

mummyof2boys30 · 22/11/2020 10:59
@mummyof2boys30 I’ve bought my 6yr old a lava lamp from Argos
Is that the ones resuced to 11.25? Wondering is it tiny or would it do the job

Freshcoatofpaint · 22/11/2020 11:03

Is the velvetiser dupe going to be in store? I have the lavazza frother and it's fine but not hot enough, I find it lukewarm so wondering if the aldi dupe will be hotter....

TonMoulin · 22/11/2020 11:11

Thanks @TheLastStarfighter

flumposie · 22/11/2020 11:15

Thank you @ILikeBiscuits, I just managed to get a hot chocolate maker, I'd presumed they'd sold out.

MsMiaWallace · 22/11/2020 11:21

I'm not sure whether to buy the Aldi dupe or hang on for Lavazza frother
