please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

A bit niche but if anyone enjoys Janet Godleys nicola sturgeon voiceovers I've just ordered the book which is the transcript from her website

SpamIAm · 20/11/2020 19:31

@Chocolateteabag I had a damaged item from Matalan - they refunded me plus gave me a voucher to cover postage and the money off I'd had, so that it didn't cost me any more to purchase a replacement. So excellent customer service, but a bit slow to get back to me - I contacted them via Facebook messenger in the end and they god back to me after a day.

Foggyday124 · 20/11/2020 19:31

My boy is 8 and into spy kits, walkie talkie etc. However he’s done with the toy versions and wants ‘the real thing’. Does anyone know of a shop selling similar items that I can browse online?

PerditaNitt · 20/11/2020 19:32

@TheLastStarfighter thank you for the sass and belle code. I’ve been eyeing up a few bits there including their Brussels sprout felt wreath for a few days but it felt too frivolous for £20. This may well tempt me!

LionMummyRoar · 20/11/2020 19:33

Thank you so much @Fred56 and @1stTimeMama . All of the shops you have mentioned look great. I heard about jurassic Jim from earlier in the thread and I think my dad is quite excited about choosing a tooth for his birthday Smile

My bargain (ish!) is also dinosaur related...asda have a schleich dinosaur advent calendar for £20 It’s £25 everywhere else. Not cheap- but it comes with some small dinos and some eggs which DS will love. Haven’t actually picked it up yet (on click and collect) so cant actually vouch for quality yet.

PerditaNitt · 20/11/2020 19:35

@Foggyday124 my nephew is the same - he had a ton of fun with our old baby monitor and setting it up around the house. Not a great idea for a gift, of course, but certainly a good option to keep him busy if you have an old one knocking around.

For a gift idea, my gadget-mad nephew also loved his go-pro style camera. Not quite as cool as a spy cam, but much easier to use for kids and quite fun.

PerditaNitt · 20/11/2020 19:39

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned ballerina merchandise. Les Nereides do beautiful enamel ballerina pendant necklaces - they are quite delicate and understated (slightly kitsch but not naff)

Chocolateteabag · 20/11/2020 19:44

@SpamIAm - Thankyou re Matalan CS - just annoyed that there are some PJ's and school shoes rolling round a Hermes van right now that I could really do with! But I expect that its hell on earth for the delivery companies & drivers right now - like I guess they are happy for the business, but maybe not quite so much all at once?

lolarabbit · 20/11/2020 19:44

@Bridecilla Great light. They seem to have same one at various stores. Mainly same price but £5 less at IWOOT at the moment. Randomly clicked on the Menkind website and it says it's powered via USB.

xoxogossipgirl2020 · 20/11/2020 19:45

I don’t suppose anybody would be willing to keep their eyes peeled for the white grinch pyjamas in Asda age 2-3 PLEASE! I’ve missed these and the Aldi squishmallows being in hospital and I feel like it will haunt me for the rest of my life if I don’t get them!!! I can’t let it go 😭

balalalala · 20/11/2020 19:51
@balalalala
I have a spare Aldi milk chocolate bomb snowman if that's what you're looking for? Happy to post to you if you send me a DM.

I only bought it because they look nice, no one in the house actually likes hot chocolate!
Oh bless you, that's so kind, thankyou! I'll PM you.

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 20/11/2020 19:54

Would anyone have any ideas on where to save money on dr Martens. The ones my dd likes are £149!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 20/11/2020 19:59

@xoxogossipgirl2020 not asda ones but reserved have a few different Grinch pjs in 2-3
www.reserved.com/gb/en/3638a-09m/3638a-09m-t05-pizama-ch-2e-pyjamas

www.reserved.com/gb/en/2678a-59x/2678a-59x-t06-pizama-ch-2e-pyjama

www.reserved.com/gb/en/2677a-00x/2677a-00x-t02-pizama-ch-2e-pyjama

There's some pale pink ones and red too in girls section. They don't come up if you search grinch but if you search pyjamas and filter by size (98-104 for 2-3 i think) they are all there :) money off for first order if you sign up to the newsletter.

Message me monday night if no luck. I drive past the biggest asda on a Tuesday and can pop in and look for you.
Chocolateteabag · 20/11/2020 20:05

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks - what size is your DD/which style of DM's?
You can get the 10% off the DM shop - but you may be able to get a student code from some kind person on here?

RJnomore1 · 20/11/2020 20:06

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks if office or schuh have them someone may give you a student code for 10% off?

They do last forever at least!

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 20/11/2020 20:06

Thank you everyone for the Ballerina suggestions. Some lovely ideas to consider. You guys are lovely. ThanksWine for you all.

herecomesthsun · 20/11/2020 20:10

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks Doc Martens would be worth looking for on Amazon, which sometimes has expensive shoe brands at a good discount.

Potentially asos if they are included in any % discounts
SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 20/11/2020 20:25

Thank you everyone. It’s the black lace up boots with the red roses embroidered on the sides. Actually they are £159. When did it happen that a pair of boots costs that much! I have signed up with DM which has given me 10% discount. I will also see if anything happens on Black Friday.

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 20/11/2020 20:28

They are £162 on Amazon, but I’ve popped them in my basket in case they come down...

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 20/11/2020 20:35

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks, I have those very boots! I bought them from Shoes International and managed to get them for £80!
That was over a year ago but it might be worth having a look there. They often have discount codes too.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 20/11/2020 20:37

LD15 gives 15% off too

mummabear74 · 20/11/2020 20:39
