Argghhhh, I’m so sorry, I hope I haven’t lost you all! I was keeping a beady eye then got distracted trying to work out how to forward plan a Zoom call for work and invite someone, which should only take a few minutes but I’m incompetent and it took me far too long Blush .

@CarrotVan I hope it was the former!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Thank you @EvilHerbivore and @Scrambledbeans if it dropped that low again that would be amazing

pigeonorstatue · 11/11/2020 21:50

Sorry to be an Argos bore but any tips or tricks anyone can share please?!

I just did quite a big M&S order and when I went to pay, four items were out of stock. I MISS THE SHOPS! (Sorry. Bit emosh)

PinkDaydreams · 11/11/2020 21:59

@The4ks

Pinky, home bargains have brilliant light up things just now. 1.49 and 1.99.

Christmas themed ones and my autistic sons favourite, a spinning light up wand. Bit like a windmill.

I'll take a trip to the bigger home bargains thank you, small local one hasn't got anything like that. Smile
PinkDaydreams · 11/11/2020 22:00

@bookish83 that wand looks fab, once lockdown is over I'll take a trip to the works thank you!
@SpamIAm that also looks a good option too thank you :)

littlestpogo · 11/11/2020 22:06

@pigeonorstatue - I feel your pain just had the same thing happen at M&S ( having finally found some decent cotton Liverpool pyjamas for DS!)

pigeonorstatue · 11/11/2020 22:09

@littlestpogo it’s so frustrating isn’t it? How have they not got the reserve function in basket items?! No wonder they struggle against others online.

myhobbyisouting · 11/11/2020 22:11

I haven't got the superfood email. Does that mean mine are ok? Someone mentioned dates, have they said which batch has issues?

Thanks

TheLastStarfighter · 11/11/2020 22:15

@PatchworkElmer Our Tesco delivery Green and Blacks were £11 each on the main part of the receipt, but then there was the equivalent saving under “your promotion savings were on” and listed as “gift box”. So we bought 4, paid £44 on the main part of the receipt, but then -£22 in “gift box” at the end of the receipt.

If they refunded you, you might find you unintentionally ended up getting them for free Smile

MrsDoctorDear · 11/11/2020 22:16

@ASkyPaintedGold
Yes! I've just finished all 8 books😢 can't believe I'd never read them as a child. I was more Enid Blyton.
Ha ha I've hidden my latest purchase from DH, it's like a quest to reach the delivery man first. It does actually have Within Reason on the package which he knows because he's bought me one for Christmas😂.

BeaLola · 11/11/2020 22:16

Thewinterofdiscontent salt lamp - off to google - are they like lava lamps ? I don't want anything that gets hot to the touch (not that he should touch it but me probably turning ot off at 6am !)

bookish83 thank you

*@BalaamsAss * Pendragons - DH didn't tell me order arrived today (!) so in the interest of reporting back I got him to taste it immediately …. he likes the Hotel Chocolat milky so tried the Pendragons version & he liked it even more - result ! The small bags I think are £4.95 + P&P but I bought the 1kg bag - £11.99 + P&P - the use by date on my order is Nov 2021.

I have also bought the salted caramel but not tried that yet .. tempted by the Rum & Salted caramel version

Lockdownlumpy · 11/11/2020 22:17

Milk frother for hot chocolate - lidl has one coming in soon in England (maybe Sunday?) so you may get them too?
Think they were £19.99

Arthien · 11/11/2020 22:17

Re. Hot chocolate, I would recommend Whittards luxury hot chocolate. It’s the nicest I’ve ever had and slightly cheaper than hotel chocolat (though I don’t know if it would work in a Velvetiser).

This popped up on my news feed yesterday, made me chuckle! cinnamon buns news

onedayatatime73 · 11/11/2020 22:19

Can anyone suggest where I can get personalised jewellery boxes that don't cost the earth? And youngest DD (7) would like some "dress up" jewellery. All the charity shops are shut - any suggestions where I can get some online?

thebrightestcoloursfillmyhead · 11/11/2020 22:19

@PinkDaydreams the range had loads of glow sticks when I was in earlier this week. Got a wand and sword as stocking fillers for my 6 and 3 year olds. They also had glow necklaces, hats, glasses etc. at £1-2 each.

https://www.therange.co.uk/stationery/party-supplies/fancy-dress-and-face-paint/fancy-dress/glow-princess-wand/#354711 here for example]

MrsDoctorDear · 11/11/2020 22:20

Seasalt have 10% off over £75 VBTEN75 I've just ordered the Plant Hunter so it was less painful, every little helps!

BeaLola · 11/11/2020 22:21

onedayatatime73 for the jewellery Monsoon perhaps ?

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 11/11/2020 22:25

@autumnwoman that's such a brilliant idea, thankyou for mentioning it, I'll be signing up tomorrow!
Our youngest dd loves getting things through the post but the crafty type subscription boxes are too young for her, so this'll fit the bill perfectly. I'm now off to look for a nice apron and bowl etc....

Thewinterofdiscontent · 11/11/2020 22:26

BeaLola No, not hot although they warm up. It is literally a massive chunk of salt and the ( ordinary) bulb is right in the middle . They have very warm and cosy light. Although occasionally you’ll get a tiny bit of flaking and you aren’t supposed to get them wet.
I think they are amazing value for £10 -£15 for a fairly decent sized one.

shash1982 · 11/11/2020 22:26

@sorryiasked thank you! 😂

0ttoline · 11/11/2020 22:32

onedayatatime I've bought a bundle of children's jewellery from ebay for my daughter. There are lots available.

Bryna · 11/11/2020 22:35

@BalaamsAss I'd really recommend the Twinings hot chocolate powder

Chocoholicmumma · 11/11/2020 22:37

@myhobbyisouting this is the email I received

A few weeks / threads ago I asked you lovely lot about gifts for the chemotherapy day unit staff to have when I finished treatment. Well today I rang the bell then gave the gifts to some happy nursing staff (together with a thank you card).

Keep the Christmas bargains coming folks, I need to get all the shopping done before /during radiotherapy, so definitely all online!

GarlicSoup · 11/11/2020 22:42

@onedayatatime73 I’ve always found Monsoon and Accessorize to be good for children’s jewellery particularly when they have a sale.

oatmilkisntsobad · 11/11/2020 22:42

I'm almost done. I still need some pyjamas for DD 21. She likes cuffed jogging bottom type with short sleeved t-shirt top. Decent quality and around £25ish. Please let me know if you've seen anything that fits the bill!
