Argghhhh, I’m so sorry, I hope I haven’t lost you all! I was keeping a beady eye then got distracted trying to work out how to forward plan a Zoom call for work and invite someone, which should only take a few minutes but I’m incompetent and it took me far too long Blush .

@CarrotVan I hope it was the former!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

firstly DS 12 - recommendations please for a side light inn his room that is not babyish but dimly lights room at night

secondly - friends 18 year old daughter - just gone to Uni & living in shared accommodation - I normally buy her make up but wondering if anything good /lovely for students (she is into make up & girly stuff if that helps & as far as I am aware doesnt need anyting cooking wise was wondering whether a swell bottl ewould be useful ?

Thank You

BalaamsAss · 11/11/2020 19:27

Hot chocolate wisdom required - it’s for my 13yr old DD so not even considering something like the velvetiser (even though she would love it), but at the same time, she is definitely a hot chocolate snob and wouldn’t countenance cheapo stuff.

Looking a milk frother or a velvetiser-a-like (but not the Aldi one because they don’t deliver to NI) as well as suggestions of decent hot chocolate flakes/powder. (Even better if available on Amazon because then I can add it to her wishlist and have someone else buy it)

recklessgran · 11/11/2020 19:29

Yes, I've had the e-mail from the Superfood Bakery too. I'm really fed up as I was intending to put the mixes in a Christmas baking hamper. I'm obviously not going to risk it. Oh well - not the end of the wprld.

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks

Did anyone else who ordered the cake mixes from Superfood Bakery receive a strange email today. It warns you that the banana loaf mix may be rancid, but infers that you try it and, if it is, let them know!
Omg! Gotta be a thread title in there @Reastie
BalaamsAss · 11/11/2020 19:30

Thanks for the suggestions of mini fridges. Will check them all out

TheLastStarfighter · 11/11/2020 19:34

@BeaLola how about LED strip lights under the bed or behind a bookcase?

@BalaamsAss someone suggested this hot chocolate shaker as an alternative to the velvetiser, and the company do chocolate for it too. I think there was a 20% discount code for it somewhere.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 11/11/2020 19:40

I’ve just been for my 20 week scan and found out we’re having a boy. I’m thinking of doing a safari themed room and was wondering if the Melissa and Doug giant giraffe ever drops in price? Thanks

My banana loaf mix from that batch was delicious.

It sounds from the email like they’ve had one complaint and so they’re notifying everyone from that batch.

£10 Boden voucher on offer to anyone who would like it!
(Min £30 spend and not on sale/clearance items)

Would love anything M&S, John Lewis or erm, Morrisons if anyone has..

tentative3 · 11/11/2020 19:45

@BalaamsAss pendragon's drinks do loads of flakes in great flavours.

weebarra · 11/11/2020 19:46

@ASkyPaintedGold - I love one hundred stars! My mum is very little - 5ft, would the dressing gowns be ridiculously long?

SpamIAm · 11/11/2020 19:49

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin no idea about the Melissa and Doug giraffe, but Asda (I think, could have been Tesco) had big inflatable ones one year so might be worth a look. Alternatively, my DD has a giraffe rocker from eBay that's pretty big.

Notlongnow1 · 11/11/2020 19:51

Glad you enjoyed them. We have made 2 so far and also very impressed:)

BeaLola · 11/11/2020 19:54

*@BalaamsAss * I saw Pendragons mentioned either here or on one of the other Christmas threads - have done an order (have a Velvetiser but DH shuddered at paying £12 for 10 sachets) - will taste soonest and report back

The LastStarFighter thankyou

studentvera · 11/11/2020 19:56

sugarplumfairy2010 · 11/11/2020 19:57

Thanks to whoever mentioned the monsoon sale that's my girls Christmas day dresses sorted x

Foggyday124 · 11/11/2020 20:06

Thanks for the shout 4Minions2CallMyOwn. I know it’s silly but I’ve never bought that brand before though I’ve seen it at friends’ so I’m really excited, and it’s a great bargain!
@ASkyPaintedGold - I love one hundred stars! My mum is very little - 5ft, would the dressing gowns be ridiculously long?
@weebarra - Hmmm, they might be a bit too long. The website says the gowns are 127cm long! I'm 5ft1 and a bit and have one of their dusters which are shorter at 119cm nape to hem. Can you surreptitiously measure her?! The dusters are a bit thicker, too whereas the gowns are quite chiffon-y.

You can buy the hotel chocolat flakes on amazon.

I read somewhere on this thread that grating a bar of chocolate works too!

I personally love Green and Black's hot choc. It is so much nicer than any of the other supermarket type brands.

BadgerFace · 11/11/2020 20:11

DH would like some wool, thick (but not too thick) socks a bit like the attached. I would like to not spend £25 on socks! Any ideas bargain hunters?

The SHO bottles are on 50% offer (basically the same as chilli or swell) and the company sounds good!

Has she got a decent travel mug? Their little coffee ones look great

PinkDaydreams · 11/11/2020 20:12

I don't suppose anyone has seen any fibre optic wands/sticks or light up stick toys please? Sorry awful description! Looked on Amazon but either rubbish reviews or very expensive. For my three year old autistic son. Thank you! :)

Would a salt lamp not do? They are a very soft pinky orange glow. A small one wouldn’t be too bright. The lamp also claims to remove negative ions. DS loves his.
