Argghhhh, I’m so sorry, I hope I haven’t lost you all! I was keeping a beady eye then got distracted trying to work out how to forward plan a Zoom call for work and invite someone, which should only take a few minutes but I’m incompetent and it took me far too long Blush .

@CarrotVan I hope it was the former!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I’ve just had an email from Matalan to say they aren’t restocking their Christmas pyjamas (the red ones with white writing) in aged 4. Not too sure why they’re letting me know that, I don’t have a 4 year old and have already purchased my pyjamas but just a heads up in case anyone is waiting for that size come back into stock!

dancemom · 10/11/2020 06:10

Thanks @Thumbellini they have the hairdryers but don't seem to have the straighteners

Dreamqueen · 10/11/2020 06:24

@Notlongnow1

Bit niche but don't suppose anyone can recommend a heated vest/gilet that you plug power-pack into? Husband wants one for fishing but so many and (a bit like the fake oodies!) lots use same pics so I have no idea what the 'real' ones even are!
I bought one last year from Blazewear for my grown up son. A UK company. Had great customer service from them. I'd originally bought a cheaper one from China that didn't last & had to go through paypal for a refund.
WisestIsShe · 10/11/2020 06:26

@Tigger83 are you sure you want to buy someone a knife set for Christmas? DM and her superstition have obviously rubbed off on me more than I thought! She would say never give knives or scissors, they cut the ties of friendship.
Hopefully that's all rubbish.

shipperssss · 10/11/2020 06:53
@TheLastStarfighter George gets stock in really often so if you keep checking online each day they'll probably come back in soon!
Really pleased I read this and checked again, just managed to nab the Grinch matching pyjamas for us all when they've been out of stock every time I've looked before! Thankyou.

If anyone has any Scottish whisky recommendations for a whisky-loving Scottish friend, I'd be really interested to hear about them

Anyone seen any bargainacious bonsai trees?

DillieDoily · 10/11/2020 07:45

For a whisky fan, but you don't know which type he/she drinks I'd stay away from the peaty Islay ones (lagavulin, Laphroig etc) as they really are like marmite - some people adore them but if you don't have that palate then they taste like TCP, so a bit risky.

I'd recommend Highland Park (from Orkney) or a Speyside whisky (MacAllan, Glenlivet, Balvennie, Dalwinnie, Glenfiddich etc) as most whisky fans would find them super smooth and enjoyable

DillieDoily · 10/11/2020 07:46

Sorry that was for @ClaraTheImpossibleGirl

As you're talking about whisky, can I ask for recommendations for a bourbon please? Started a thread the other day and have hd a couple of suggestions

JoHo123 · 10/11/2020 08:20

@WisestIsShe My superstitious grandad always made me give him a penny for any type of blade he gave me! Not sure how @Tigger83 feels about giving a present and then asking for cash Grin
