If COVID restrictions still permit outside visits from a max of 2 families and 6 people, if I did this would you come? I am in Scotland.

I have a large covered outside area
Lit with fairly lights
Electric blanket on the outdoor sofas to sit on
Heated throws or blankets to cover up
Hot water bottles
Hot chocolate or drink of choice, alcohol too.
Canapés
Chocolates
Chimnea and marsh mallow toasting.

It’s December......

We usually cater a lot at Christmas. I’ll miss it with every bit of me this year. I am trying to come up with ideas so that we can still see friends. December is really important to me. This isn’t a getting pissed type thing. It’s just an hour or two.

Any thoughts.

@eisquiapluses

I thought if she did it every night in Dec there would be room for us all without any rule breaking

WellWeAreFuckedNow · 07/11/2020 20:23

Hell yes. Where's my invite 🤣

DryRoastPeanut · 07/11/2020 20:26

Sounds smashing. I’m looking forward to it.

TheSockMonster · 07/11/2020 20:33

I’m in! What shall I bring?

Mustbe3ormorecharacters · 07/11/2020 20:36

Have you ever ran that many electrical appliances at the same time before? Are you planning on running them from different outlets and not just from different extension cords?

Looneytune253 · 07/11/2020 20:38

Gardens aren't permitted in lockdown or in tier two or three so it looks doubtful unfortunately. Sorry

They are in tier 2 in Scotland. We have different tiers, just to keep everyone on their toes.

Not those specific items but we have 3 x double external sockets.

To be honest not really. It sounds like you are really trying to make it lovely but it's still Scotland, it's still December and it's still outdoors.

Jbck · 07/11/2020 21:05

Only issue would be if it rained but sounds fab if its dry.

DD and I sat outside at restaurant terrace yesterday for hot chocolate, waterside setting, was lovely, the sky looked painted it was so blue.

Enjoy, I can pm you my address for invite 😉

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/11/2020 23:04

I think it sounds wonderful @Fridgeandkitchen and I would definitely be happy to attend if you were my friend/relative

RubbishQueen · 07/11/2020 23:17

I've not tried it yet but I saw a post on Facebook, hot chocolate kept warm in a slow cooker. Was planning on trying it at the village fireworks this year for the kids. We do it with mulled wine but never considered hot choc!

Can I come too..? Need plenty of notice I'm in the south east!! Grin

Kissthepastrychef · 08/11/2020 00:05

Sounds absolutely brilliant and as such I deffo need to nick the idea

ravensoaponarope · 08/11/2020 07:22

It sounds wonderful.
I'm in Wales where we are not even allowed to meet one person in a private arden.
Your ideas for keeping everyone warm and cosy are lovely.
I imagine it would boost everyone's spirits who attends.

SpringSunshineandTulips · 08/11/2020 16:17

I would come. Sounds fab. Only for a couple of hours though as would start to get cold and need a wee!

gungholierthanthou · 08/11/2020 16:18

I'd be delighted. Is this an invitation?
