Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@XFPW

I’ve decided that DD would like some kind of heated hair appliance for Christmas. She is 13 and currently obsessed with doing her hair in the mornings - Learning all these wee intricate plaits etc on youtube. Her hair is ridiculously thick and poker straight. She definitely doesn’t need straighteners but I was wondering about a curling iron. (Is that even what they are called?!)

Budget preferably around £40 so that I can either buy it for her or I can put it on her amazon wishlist and her nanny will buy it.

I have no idea where to start though - any recommendations? (If either a curling iron or some other hair device that would be popular with a 13 year old)

Thanks bargain hunters!

My daughter has a hair waver! It's great, does hair lovely, even long thick hair and it's cheap hair waver here £21.99

Oh wow, thank you. Picked up 3 brackets and a watch for £40 Flowers
XFPW · 14/10/2020 09:59

Thank you all for your hair curling knowledge! I’m going to go for the one that @JoHo123 and @AndddddHerewegoagain both recommended - that rose gold set looks like a brilliant bargain for prime day and it’s her favourite colour. I’ll get it now and either give it to her from us or from her Grandad who will send money in January to buy her something.

Really happy I got the amazon kids edition Kindle for £55 reduced from £100 I was prepared to pay £100 as well so a great find!

Bananasplease · 14/10/2020 10:40

I placed an order for one of the watches and then started to worry that I’d been had. A bit of searching and it looks as though there are two very similar websites similar items. There is also a mumsnet thread about what appears to be a previous incarnation of one of the sites complaining about the quality and/or that items didn’t show up. I got cold feet and decided to cancel. They haven’t replied to my request to cancel yet though. Returns are described as free but then it says you have to pay to send things back to Albuquerque!! Hmm

Bananasplease · 14/10/2020 10:41

At least if I have been had it’s only £15 but it’s very annoying.

spagbog5 · 14/10/2020 10:43
