Went online today and you can pre-book your collection slot. Nothing really different to last year, was hoping for a new yummy dessert but at least they had Christmas Colin!

@PositiveCoffee

Yes me too since yesterday

PositiveCoffee · 01/10/2020 12:16

Do you know if we can order in store?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2020 12:20

@PositiveCoffee, you can normally order at a customer service desk in the foodhall.

PositiveCoffee · 01/10/2020 12:34

@NoWordForFluffy Thank you. I’ll pop up later.

caringcarer · 01/10/2020 13:01

Profitta roll pyramid is fantastic. Much better than others I have tried. My DS always collects me one on Xmas Eve. Wondering if I ought to book on online delivery now.

Whitney168 · 01/10/2020 13:07

Did anyone have the Christmas woodland yule log thing last year? Was it nice?

I so want one, even though I don't really like it LOL (husband does) - it's so cute. Didn't see one last year in store so was foiled.

Mrsfussypants1 · 01/10/2020 13:48

Have there been issues with M&S Christmas food orders in the past? Note to self dont panic its only one meal.

maryberryslayers · 01/10/2020 13:52

I couldn't see any gravy/cranberry/bread sauce. It seems a little light this year.

Toomanycats99 · 01/10/2020 13:57

@PositiveCoffee

It's working now but I noticed the pork belly is no longer on the mains list - maybe that was causing the issue with my order!

Lovely1a2b3c · 01/10/2020 14:23

@JacobReesMogadishu

Christmas Colin looks amazing but dd is coeliac and dh hates chocolate and I really don't think I ought to eat a whole Colin. 😁
It's not quite the same but the 'Made without wheat yule log' is gluten free.

You could eat a whole Colin to yourself and buy that to share with your DD too!

Lovely1a2b3c · 01/10/2020 14:25

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss

We had Colin last year and usually do an order for collection but unsure this time as virus rates may be really high in December and it’s collection only not home delivery. They may adapt that though closer to the time.
Good point. You'd hope they would be quite careful about social distancing etc. during collection- maybe get people to wait outside or something.
Deelish75 · 01/10/2020 14:41

@Whitney168. Yes we had the Woodland Yule last year, it was gorgeous. You don’t need to store it in the fridge unlike other Yuletide logs (I’ve had to store the Tesco one in the fridge before) so it was a space saver. Definitely getting it again this year.

Did anyone have the sticky toffee trifle last year? How was it it? I’m worried it might be a bit too sickly.

Whitney168 · 01/10/2020 14:56

Thanks @Deelish77, I will indulge the wish for it then. Now to work out what else I 'need'.

MintyMills · 01/10/2020 14:59

@username108 what a stupid comment. Slots are released and people book them on a first come, first served basis. What's stopping you being a 'greedy hog' yourself and actually booking a slot of you want one?

Just bizarre

Same here! Have ordered beef instead 👍🏻

Dutypaid · 01/10/2020 16:08

Does anyone know where I can order xmas meals for 1 person? Every year I end up with too much or crap that other people don't want.

Longbarn5 · 01/10/2020 17:17

😁😁

Cakestandkitchen · 01/10/2020 17:21

Duty, you could try and see what hello fresh or gusto would do.

Toomanycats99 · 01/10/2020 18:28

@Dutypaid

Having just got the sainsburys Christmas food catalogue they look to have a couple of small joints.

MrsBungle · 01/10/2020 18:31

@Whitney168 we had the Yule log last year too and it was delicious.

Beach11 · 01/10/2020 18:47

The beef pie is delicious 😋

XiCi · 01/10/2020 19:34

I've been looking at that beef pie. Think I might have to add it to my order!

dementedma · 01/10/2020 20:01

I wasnt impressed and was looking at Sainsburys site when ds(18) appeared and asked why I was looking to buy from supermarkets when small local companies were struggling. I have been guilted into buying from the local butcher!
No M and S this year. I'll probably save a fortune lol

Dutypaid · 01/10/2020 20:41

Thanks toomanycats; I'll take a look there

OatcakeCravings · 01/10/2020 21:49

Just ordered mine, every single slot was available, I’m in Scotland though and our shops don’t tend to be as crazily busy. Every year I am less impressed with the choice than the year before and this years is the slimmest pickings yet! Still managed to spend 120 quid though and there will only be 3 of us this year unless Covid rules change. It’s a good feeling to have your Xmas dinner (and main Santa present) sorted by 1st October.
