Went online today and you can pre-book your collection slot. Nothing really different to last year, was hoping for a new yummy dessert but at least they had Christmas Colin!

@Longbarn5 - even if we’re in full lockdown collecting food is an essential journey.

Even in the worst of lockdown in the spring you were allowed a food shop.

I’m disappointed this year. I make a mean tile log but usually get a very pretty vanilla sponge for kids who don’t eat Christmas pudding. They don’t seem to have one😢

@greyinganddecaying
I typed in "Christmas food" in the search bar on the M&S website and it takes you to a separate site.

On the app, it's just under "food"

I’m really disappointed in the offering this year too. No gravy, bread sauce, cranberry sauce. No wine or chocolate for early booking too!

There's prosecco or chocolates on offer if you book with Sainsbury's and spend enough. I didn't look too closely at the options though, as I'm not getting dinner food.

I booked mine last night. So glad I saw this thread, thank you. I've never ordered M&S food before, so quite excited.

@greyinganddecaying I've just looked and it's now just under the food section on the website! Grin far easier!

The veggie/vegan options are very limited. Main meal choice of 1 screwed if you don’t like nuts.

I think they might add more items nearer the time. There's usually more veg dishes and the gravy/sauces.

I'm guessing they're not doing free gifts for early orders as a lot of people will be ordering early due to uncertainty around plans. I think that's why they're letting you amend the order until 10th December - they don't usually do that

I ordered really early last year and I'm sure the wine/chocolates offer got added a bit later and they sent me an email when it went live to confirm I qualified. I think the smaller things like sauces and gravies will get added later too and you can just add to order. I made Jamie's make ahead gravy last year though and it was gorgeous!

They’ll be so overwhelmed by people calling to amend though, so weird you can’t just do it online

Gutted I can't get a slot with Ocado, probably won't be able to order m&s stuff for xmas this year from their site as all the greedy hogs have taken all the slots!

Why are people who are booking their Christmas food (in the same way you want to) 'greedy hogs'? Surely they're just being organised because they want their Christmas dinner from M&S?

Why are the people who have booked slots ‘greedy hogs’ 🤔

It’s not like other supermarkets where you can just save slots - with M&S you have to pay a £40 non-refundable deposit so everyone who’s booked intends to use their slot

No, I agree! Bah humbug!

I'm here all year...it's light relief from that which shall not be named on this board! Xmas Smile

Think I'll order with waitrose.

I've seen too many stories on here over the year of m&s running out of food and people who had ordered being turned away empty handed on xmas eve.

I'm craving a waitrose mince pie today so hoping they get them in stock soon!

I've ordered with M&S for many years now and have never had any problems thank god.

Greedy hogs though Grin Guess you will just have to schlep to the shop with all the other unorganised greedy hogs username108
