Went online today and you can pre-book your collection slot. Nothing really different to last year, was hoping for a new yummy dessert but at least they had Christmas Colin!

Yes!!!!!! Thank you for posting, I’ve been excitedly checking and waiting for a while 😃

BigSandyBalls2015 · 30/09/2020 17:12

I'm worried about ordering in case this 6 per house changes, which it's very likely to do. Christmas is a long way off. I don't want to end up with loads of food if in laws and uncles can't come.

ChrisChambersNeverMisses · 30/09/2020 17:16

I couldn't seem to see the usual gravies or as many starters and sides as previous years?

Justajot · 30/09/2020 17:16

Does anyone know whether this will all be available on Ocado?

CarlottaValdez · 30/09/2020 17:16

Can you buy normal food or is it all ready made type stuff?

Toomanycats99 · 30/09/2020 17:17

Is anyone else having an issue checking out?

4forkssake · 30/09/2020 17:18

Can't say I'm hugely impressed by this years offerings.

Nat6999 · 30/09/2020 17:29

I've already ordered our M & S sides for Christmas Dinner through Ocado, prawns & smoked salmon are coming next week, just need to source a turkey & Christmas pudding nearer the time & add the other bits as I see them.

CrunchyNutNC · 30/09/2020 17:39

I like M&S but I just can't get excited about ordering online. It's really clever marketing though, you don't see a raw turkey on the shelf, you see a turkey that's been cooked to perfection with a little story. You don't see an oven ready pie, you see something amazing and golden with gravy oozing appealingly.

I do buy bits in M&S but I prefer to go round the shop, often much better variety than in their Christmas catalogue Confused

Anjo2011 · 30/09/2020 17:43

There doesn’t seem to be as many product lines as normal, no free wine for early ordering and deposit is £40 this year instead of the usual £30. I think demand will be massive. I’ve never ordered a turkey in September before

gbpaln · 30/09/2020 18:06

Have ordered Christmas Colin, the brie en croute which was amazing last year, the whole family still talks about it. V.tempted by the beef and marrowbone pie for a change on Christmas Eve.

We had Colin last year and usually do an order for collection but unsure this time as virus rates may be really high in December and it’s collection only not home delivery. They may adapt that though closer to the time.

FourPlasticRings · 30/09/2020 18:17

Ooh. I was tempted by the brie en croute but sadly I'll be the only one eating it if I get it. Really disappointed by the lack of bread sauce. Had it for the first time last year and loved it.

nevermorelenore · 30/09/2020 18:19

In case anyone was planning on using them, I noticed Sainsbury's Food to Order is also online today with collection slots. Used them last year for big things like meat, desserts etc and the quality was good.

killerofmen · 30/09/2020 18:25

Seems expensive this year? Checking my 2019 order I got a small joint of beef for £15 because MIL prefers it to Turkey. This year the cheapest beef I can see is £30 and I don't even know if MIL will be allowed round for dinner!

Mosasaur · 30/09/2020 18:46

All gone. Will have to drive to the next nearest M&S 15 miles away.

thelikelylass · 30/09/2020 18:50

why do they do the roasties in goose fat and the sprouts with meat? years I've been getting the none meat ones - they aren't doing the mushroom wellington either. pretty pisspoor show this year.

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 30/09/2020 18:55

Why no gravvvvy. M&S I am let down.

Nanasueathome · 30/09/2020 19:01

As an aside, I’ve just had an email from Waitrose and have booked my Christmas delivery slot, 23rd december

Lovemusic33 · 30/09/2020 19:21

It all looks lovely but most items say “feeds 10” and there’s only 3 of us, looking like we won’t be able to entertain many this year, wondering if I can eat a whole Yule log cake 🤔

killerofmen · 30/09/2020 20:30

I made a conscious choice not to order the serves 16 prawn cocktail because I knew we were in lockdown I'd try and eat the whole thing Envy

Mrsfussypants1 · 30/09/2020 20:41

My first M&S Christmas food order done! From starters to desserts. Its a gift to my future self as i invisage a very mentally and physically exaushting December at work, more than ever this year because of covid with longer hours thrown in this is going to save me a lot of time and stress. Mind you it has cost a lot more, and we may not be allowed any family around to share it (im in the North East) bit thats fine, ill just plate up extra for Boxing day as im working and it will be nice to come home to another lunch. I dont mind the extra cost to be honest as we will be saving on other Christmas activities no longer allowed.

dementedma · 30/09/2020 21:19

Not as exciting as previous years. Tried to order the stuffed turkey crown which we always have but wouldn’t let me log in with my email and password. Tried a password reset but no reset arrived. Gave up

Nearlyadoctor · 30/09/2020 21:28

A bit disappointed with this years offerings but have ordered the Brie en croute, Shin of Beef, Salmon en croute and a Colin. The Brie we’ll have on Christmas Eve with nice bread, chorizo and pickles etc. The rest will depend whether we’re at home or can go to family. I don’t think Colin will last too long anyway Grin

Longbarn5 · 30/09/2020 22:33

I had some items from them last year. All superb. This year though I am sadly not prepared to order and then find we are locked down and I cant collect. That, coupled with not knowing how many people we will have/be allowed to have for Christmas day means that I will just get things gradually and see what transpires
