Breakfast on Christmas morning

What does everyone have for breakfast on Christmas morning?

Is it tradition? Do you change it up every year?

We try to have something a bit special and change it up every year, in recent years we've had- pancakes, pannatone french toast, bacon sandwiches (not so fancy 🤣) our favourite childhood cereals, bake at home pain au chocolat. So I'm kind of stuck for this year.... hit me with your suggestions 🥰

We have croissants and coffee/orange juice early on (DC are usually up at 7am) then bacon sandwiches at about 10ish.

We don't have lunch until about 2pm so we'll have salmon and cream cheese blinis in between that too! All washed down with fizz of course 😊

We get frozen pastries (tesco do a good selection) and have them freshly baked with some naice yoghurt, fresh fruit, bucks fizz for us and fruit juice for the DCs.

I can't imagine any breakfast that needs to be planned three months in advance!

Bacon sarnie and bucks fizz. Maybe a few Ferrero rochers to follow.

We always have rice porridge. Sometimes with cinnamon and sugar and sometimes I make a kind of compote out of persimmons (plum/prune compote is traditional but it tastes nasty so nah)

The younger children get a variety pack of cereals in their stocking (thats probably strange to most of you) so they like to have one or two of those. Ds1 and Dh have a full English and I suspect Ds 3 will have that as well. We have Christmas lunch around 2-00/2.30pm

Croissants and orange juice/Buck’s Fizz.
There’s no way I’m cooking breakfast, lunch with all the trimmings AND the evening buffet. Plus, we aren’t heavy breakfast people at the best of times, couldn’t imagine trying to fit in amazing Christmas food after a big breakfast

Who can be bothered cooking breakfast on Xmas day? Pastries, coffee and champagne here.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast with coffee and champagne. Unless we're having smoked salmon as a starter for lunch, in which case we have cinnamon buns (we make them Christmas Eve and they rise over night somewhere cool).

Poffertjes with Honeycomb, Butter and Icing Sugar
Israeli Hot Chocolate (DH almost threw up the first time he had it circa 5am, he'd never had something so rich)

Christmas Eve breakfast is smoked trout, dill, cream cheese, poppy seed bagels (if in the UK/Israel, otherwise sesame bagels)

Boxing Day breakfast pre-children was whatever DH could find time to get en route to sales due to our regimented timetable to be the first at sales. Those were the days.

We usually have family staying over one of whom is a vegan so I try and keep it as vegan as possible with a few substitutes for non vegans
Vegan stuff is
Bake in the oven croissants, pan au chocolate and cinnamon swirls
Cranberry compote with no dairy/dairy yogurt and homemade granola
Fresh berries yogurt and maple syrup
We also have panettone with nice jams
Eggs for whoever wants them

We don't eat until around 4 ish so this keeps us going

We usually have some pastries and a bit random some mini sausage rolls! We had a friend from Finland who made fresh cinnamon buns which has upped the ante a bit!

Growing up we always had cold home baked ham, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and white toast. I always preferred the breakfast to Christmas dinner!

Nothing extra special, but Xmas dinner is at 20.00 - as usual.

Never understand why people have dinner at lunchtime on Xmas day, or Sundays, when dinner is at dinner time the rest of the year.

We do brunch at 11 and then Christmas dinner around 6. Scrambled eggs with salmon on toast, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans. DH makes super fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and cream for those with a sweet tooth. With champagne/orange juice.
