I can't get over your speed with that, Most!

My new one is so fiddly that it's desperately slow. 😂😂

Firefly I'm so happy I've found someone else who uses an Eco egg. No one I know has even heard of one! I'm considering buying a very small bottle of fabric softener from a refil shop (so a refillable glass bottle, no plastic) purely for my pjs and bedding.

The mats look lovely Hairspray

Mounts and frames look great Fluffy
DH doesn't actually like cross stitches and doesn't want mine up - I have plans to put the Coo in the spare room of our house when we buy one and keep my
Christmas ones packed away, then they'll just magically appear when the decs go up Xmas Grin

Your cross stitch is flying along most. I wish I was that fast!

It's been very warm here too. I'm washing free 👍🏻
On the downside, our planned holiday is cancelled (somehow the flight out was ready for us to check in online but the flight home has been cancelled 🙄) so we've sorted that. We're settling on a trip to Scotland, driving so we can take ddog, with lots of stops along the way. I'm quite excited about it, I think ddog is going to love the beach

sideorderofchips · 22/07/2020 18:45

@fireflygirl you are most welcome! 24oc tomorrow so we're off to the zoo

HairsprayBabe · 22/07/2020 20:26

Had a slight nightmare with the bias binding 😵 so I'm going back again tomorrow to try and finish the damn things

Beautiful cross stitching! I am never patient enough to do big projects like that - I started a Christmas tablecloth with a very simple cross-stitch border about 5 years ago. I did it for about a week in the evenings then got bored and stopped. No idea where it is now two house moves later 😂😅

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 21:36

Getting on well with the cross stitch Most

YAYY washing free Crazy Grin

We have just returned from our meal out for my son's birthday, lovely meal and great company. Hope you all had a lovely day.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 21:41

@HairsprayBabe, if you find it send it my way. I'll finish it!

Morning all :)

Back to the park this morning with DS. In the mood for some Christmas planning too!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/07/2020 06:35

Just downloaded a Christmas gift planning app :)

Morning!

Rubbish night's sleep as I couldn't stop my brain whirring round. Never mind!

It's currently sunny but set to rain all day from about 9am. The washing can go out overnight once it's dry!

Today I'm making DS' birthday cake so no chance for any cross stitch as we also need to wrap his presents which I'll do while the crumb layer buttercream is chilling in the fridge!

What planned did you get, Most?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 23/07/2020 07:51

I've got brownies in the oven. Just about to make some low carb wraps too. Going to my mums for lunch later.

I woke up at 5:30 as I needed a wee and couldn't get back to sleep.

Hairspray I love the mat!

It's muggy and cloudy here today I'm boiling.

CrazyBaubles · 23/07/2020 08:08

Morning.
I've just checked and it's apparently going to be warm but cloudy here with some rain at lunchtime. It's so grey / dark right now that I'm tempted to put something wintery on to watch in the background while I work...

Fluffy your cross stitch is coming along but it looks very fiddly!

Wreck do you have a recipe for low carb wraps please?
I eat way too many carbs - with almost every meal except breakfast and should probably be trying to cut right down on them!

I always mean to use an app most but I'm not great with technology so end up reverting to old fashioned notebook & pen Xmas Grin

Plan for today: work until 3:30, do a few bits around the house (Hoover mainly) then going to meet my parents, sister and kids for a walk / play in the park.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/07/2020 08:15

Wow massive jump with that cross stitch fluffy :)

The app is this one, it looks good. Keeps track of your budget. You can add stuff you plan to buy but haven't yet with a link or photo. You can tick off when bought and when wrapped.

Supposed to be dry and cloudy this morning then rainy this afternoon. So park first thing then making and TV/audio books and cross stitch this afternoon I think :)

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2020 08:18

Crazy, I love carbs! I'm very much 'everything in moderation' in my food approach.

What we've done though is cut carbs (i.e. pasta, rice, potatoes etc) from dinner so that we can have a slice of toast or something later, so spreading our calories through the day. If we have carbs for dinner it's no snack later!

And yes, it's one where it's a length of one colour, then another, then another. If you're lucky. The window display was a really pain as it's a few squares here, there and everywhere. No big chunks of colour to just do in one place. Lots of counting!!

You are sharing our weather today down there! It's clouding over here now, in preparation!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 23/07/2020 08:24

Crazy it's this one they're only small but generally most low carbers are high fat and/or protein so don't need big meals as you tend to not get hungry as much.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2020 08:28

Protein doesn't do it for me, Wreck. I think I'm broken! I have quite a fast metabolism, so nothing keeps me full for very long. I live my life feeling hungry for a good 60% of my waking hours! 😂😂

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 23/07/2020 08:57

Those who eat protein eat a lot of it and very few carbs so it really is an all or nothing to work. I don't do it for weight loss though. I do think as a nation we eat way too many carbs in the wrong forms (nothing wrong with carbs at all if they're not processed ones). I love carbs too but my body can't process them so it's better for me not to eat them, I do sometimes though Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2020 09:12

Yeah. I'm not signing up to that! I enjoy carbs and don't think there's anything wrong with a balanced diet including them.

Obviously you have to keep an eye for medical reasons.

Personally, I don't see any food group as the enemy and if I fancy something will eat it!

Everyone has their own thing that works (or doesn't!) for them though. 😁

MarshmallowManiac · 23/07/2020 09:57

Morning everyone.

A nice day here but not as warm, hoping to go for a walk later to stretch my knee.

Just returned from Tesco C&C, so now the cupboard is no longer bare. Grin

Love brownies Wreck, hope you enjoy them slightly jealous

What is the name of the Christmas app please Most and what does it do as feeling extremely Christmassy today[santa] Grin

CrazyBaubles · 23/07/2020 10:01

Thank you for the recipe link Wreck

I think my issue is that I don't always pay attention so if I'm not actively planning my meals for the day, I go to whatever is easiest - so toast / jacket potato / pasta, and don't always balance this with fruit & veg.

The only thing that works for me is having a plan for the day, making sure around half my meal is veg and having healthy snacks that I can just lay my hands on because I'm awful when I'm hungry.

You app looks good most

My plan is scuppered. Ddog is ill so I'm at the vets. It's going to be a ££££ morning I think 😔

pussycatinboots · 23/07/2020 10:26

Crazy poor DDog x

Just back from raiding Sainsburys. It's amazing how much you can cram into the back of a Fiesta when you leave DH at home cat sitting Wink
They have loads of LEGO and other toys reduced
and all of the back to school stuff in

WreckTangled · 23/07/2020 10:28

Marshmallow you probably wouldn't enjoy them tbh as they're low carb so not like a normal brownie Grin

Crazy I think with pasta it's best to just make sure half your plate is salad or veg were all guilty of having a massive plate of pasta with garlic bread and a token cherry tomato Grin I love pasta so much but am yet to find a low carb one.

My neck is hurting after Pilates pleased I did it though. It's really muggy here.
