Sorry, it seems to have taken me an hour and a half to post that Confused

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 11:26

Morning everyone.

Weather here is lovely today, want to try a short walk as have really missed going out due to my knee.
We are all going out this evening to my son's 16th birthday meal, really looking forward to it Smile

It is horrible Mrs I feel the same sometimes, take time for yourself too, it is important.
Maybe it is time for some of your siblings to give a hand. You could also employ some carers to give you a rest. Hope you come to the decision that is right for your family Flowers

Enjoy your day out Most, hope it is extremely fabulous. Smile

Wreck enjoy your night away, it is nice to have something to look forward too, and hope you get your money back.

It's a good feeling when you are washing free isn't it Crazy, if only for a day [sad} I also feel great when I get to take the ironing board down (if only for a day) Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 11:50

I don't do ironing. Job's a good 'un! 😂

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 11:56

I try not to do too much too Fluffy

FireflyGirl · 22/07/2020 11:57

Same here, Fluffy. Except DS's school uniform.

I've washed our bedding with some new citrus scented unstoppables, and it's out on the line to dry, but it's overcast and there's no breeze, so I reckon it'll be going in the tumble drier later this afternoon.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 12:11

I'll iron the shirts next year, but it's polo shirts in the infants, so I've not bothered to date!

MrsMad I agree with everyone else about carers. We’ve used them and I was one (many moons ago) - if you can’t get a few good, reliable carers your life would be so much easier.

I’m pretty sure care for my parents if needed will be split between dsis and I as we’re both nearby but MIL? That will be all DH and FIL I’m assuming would be mostly DH with SIL2 helping where she could. Don’t imagine SIL1 will be any real help whatsoever.

Oh I remember the car debacle Wreck - good luck!

No ironing here either Marshmallow. I buy clothes that don’t need it and DH does his own.

Firefly my two loads of washing are on the line now too but it’s bright and warm here.

I’ve recently switched to an eco egg instead of washing powder and used the last of my fabric conditioner a week ago and haven’t bought more - I'm on a bit of a mission to reduce plastic as much as I can without being uncomfortable. It’s ok so far, although I am missing the sweet Lenor scent (I’ve used the yellow one for years and years).

My new embroidery hoop came (I went for 9inch) so I’ve moved the Coo into that. It’s going to be so much easier to work with! I’ve added pics from original hoop and new one...

Fab cross stitch Crazy, also try to buy clothes that don't need it when I can Smile

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 22/07/2020 12:42

I iron for 'hatch, match and dispatch' so christenings, weddings and funerals Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 12:43

I concur re the bigger hoop, Crazy (I'm also blessed with big hands, being tall, so other than the flappy 12 inch monster I prefer the bigger hoop).

We don't use fabric conditioner either. It stops towels being absorbent and actually ruins stuff like jeans.

Is it your out-of-pocket expenses you're claiming, Wreck? Go for it!

Our weather is dry and warm, but only intermittently sunny.

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 12:49

Great idea Most, might try that Grin

pussycatinboots · 22/07/2020 12:53

I've just been searching for the iron Grin
It's in the garage, apparently. So is the ironing board although that doubles up as a bar at Christmas
The sun is out. DH has just complained about having a hot head!? He had his hair shorn last week and I suspect he's only just noticed Grin
Crazy the bigger hoop looks like it'll help a lot.

WreckTangled · 22/07/2020 13:05

Yes fluffy plus the advises amount that you can claim for stress etc. Worth a go. I'm going to leave it for a rainy day though.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 13:10

Stress isn't really compensatable (unless a diagnosed condition in conjunction with a physical injury). Worth a shot though.

WreckTangled · 22/07/2020 13:23

Oh I think it was on the gov website they have a recommended amount for inconvenience. Can't remember now as it was quite a while ago. I can't claim for loss of earnings because we just worked the days back/took it as annual leave.

CrazyBaubles · 22/07/2020 13:32

You have a lovely turn of phrase most 😂

Fluffy I actually have very small hands so I'll have to see how it goes with the big hoop later.

puss our ironing board becomes my wrapping station on my wrapping night, usually second week of December. It's perfect, set to the right height, it holds presents, sellotape, a rum, scissors, pen and my gift tags 👍🏻

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 13:50

Good idea Crazy re wrapping station, we always wrap on the floor, not very comfortable but accompanied by some Baileys it becomes bearable Wink

superstar84 · 22/07/2020 14:00

Alexa devices are on offer on amazon, just grabbed the echo for ds

FireflyGirl · 22/07/2020 14:02

Crazy I've used an ecoegg for about 4 years and don't use fabric softener (also trying to reduce plastic). Other than stains on DS's clothes, which I doubt detergents would shift anyway, I've not noticed any difference other than no smell. That's why I use the unstoppables with the bedding - it's my indulgence Blush

sideorderofchips · 22/07/2020 14:52

Bloody hot again here today. Waiting for my niece to arrive so I can go for my run at 4

HairsprayBabe · 22/07/2020 14:54

Further play mat progress for me today

Pink one is for my friend and the mustard one is for me 😊😊

They look fab Hairspray

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 15:13

They're lovely, Hairspray.

It's wet here now, scuppering the kids going to a friend's house.

Chilly and drizzly. I'm looking for a big enough box to post myself out to you, chips...

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 16:43

My mounts have arrived. We partially constructed the frame, mount and cross stitch. They're going to look ace! I just need to stretch the cross stitch round card.
