That's great news 70

I've been awake since 4 when ds came in to say he couldn't sleep. I ticked him back into bed and he was fine but I've not been able to sleep. DH was laughing in his sleep and then started swearing because it's going to be 40° HmmGrin

Morning.

Wreck, I'm joining you on the not enough sleep bench. The kids had a fatal sleep in the car so went to bed really late. Which means they should still be asleep, but 'D'H left a fucking enormous gap in the curtains in the room I'm sharing with DS, so he woke at about 6, as did I. Marvellous. I already have a headache and I'm in a bad mood!

I keep thinking it's Saturday. Shame it isn't!

Woolly how do you attach them?

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 07:43

fluffy sorry about your headache. It feels cooler this morning, so hopefully that might be the end of the really hot days.

WreckTangled · 14/08/2020 07:50

Had to drag ds out of bed this morning. I really want to get going and do the food shopping but they're being so slow!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2020 07:51

@pussycatinboots

Woolly how do you attach them?
Superglue!

It's definitely a 'not enough sleep' headache. They're all different!

Congrats to your DD 70. It is probably a good thing to live at home next year for university. We were locked into paying for DD's accommodation for the full year and she had just signed the contract for 2020/21 with a new landlord. Although she is planning to go back to use the library as it will be her final year.
I remember the gcse discussions woolly. 2015 would have been DD. My comment about just her left was for finishing uni. Smile

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 08:28

I did wonder about "no-nail"...or would you superglue some velcro on them, so that you could change the colour of your tassels to match your outfit?

or maybe you'd have to have them pierced so you could hook them on?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/08/2020 08:48

Many congratulations to all with DC getting results :) My youngest brother got into his first choice.

Right I need you ladies to hold me to account today! All week I have been saying I need to do some Christmas shopping but nothing. If I haven't bought something by the end of today you need to start nagging me.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/08/2020 09:04

Morning all

Who are you looking to buy for most? I've picked up a few bits in various sales, mostly for DD2 as she's a big Christmas nut too so gives me loads of ideas.

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 09:07

most baubles, crackers, fairy lights? or gifts?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 09:07

Boots I am wholeheartedly in the velcro camp. Would be so much more versatile. I was thinking Blu Tack but would they drop off when it got warm? 🤔

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/08/2020 09:11

Mainly gifts but if I can find some baubles or a garland on offer would definitely consider. Have done well at putting money aside for Christmas so have some to spend :)

Was thinking I should get DS' stocking done. Am thinking a rainbow bath bomb, a book, some socks, chocolate coins and a power ranger toy. Anything else you can think of which would be good for an almost 5 year old?

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 09:17

why surely the velcro would only work if you had a hairy chest? sorry if that's a bit of a sensitive subject it needs something to "hook" on to...

why small lego, keyring he can clip to his school bag?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 09:20

Good point about the hairy chest thing (not a problem I have at the moment, no doubt a future joy). So you are thinking picture hooks for nipples then Boots?

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 09:26

why dunno...mine are down by my knees anyway, so would require a man (with or without a hairy chest) with some scaffolding to hoik them into position!

NerosFiddle · 14/08/2020 09:26

Morning all.

Electrician never turnEd up yesterday. I didn't get to sleep till 3.30 last night and then was up again at 6. The heat was fierce and its to last until Monday. Why isn't it October already?!

Most last year I got dc a new Christmas cup and made them up a wee hot chocolate pack (sachet of hot chocolate, marshmallows and sprinkles) for Christmas Eve. The biggest hit of their stockings was swimming goggles. I got them for about £2 in sports direct or Matalan in their end of summer sale.

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 09:28

sorry, got my whys and my mosts crossed Blush

Mrsmadevans · 14/08/2020 09:29

Morning everyone 😀
@TheWoollybacksWife can you fasten them to your nipple piercings m'dear 😂😂😂😂
I'm sorry l had to say that 😁
@NoWordForFluffy
Hope you are feeling more relaxed and in a good mood , sleep deprivation makes monsters out of us all 💐
Off to MumBobs have a lovely day everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2020 09:31

My chin is increasingly hairy the older I get. What's that about?! (It's only a few hairs at the moment; I'm not at goatee level. Yet.)

I think nipple piercing is the only thing short of glue that works. Anything else also requires some sort of glueing.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 09:59

fluffy give it a couple of years and you'll be grateful for having to wear a mask outside Grin

I see glue as a very temporary measure tbh.
It really depends how committed you are to burlesque.
If you're just dabbling, maybe double sided tape would be better?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 10:08

Fluffy I have a couple of chin hairs that go from not being visible to being 60ft long (not exaggerating at all).

MarshmallowManiac · 14/08/2020 10:45

Morning everyone.
Overcast here, but still extremely warm, sitting here trying to get an answer from the bl DVLA! Sad

Neros Flowers hope he manages to arrive today Smile

70 It's great that your DD can live at home. Unfortunately mine can't as her uni is so far away Sad

Oh no Wreck hope you get a chance to have a quiet day today, hope your DC comply Grin

Thanks Most, it's fantastic that your DB got into his first choice uni, many congratulations to him.
What about this www.ebay.co.uk/b/Christmas-Decorations-Trees/117419/bn_96015370
What about some lego figures or nice sweets he might enjoy from here onepoundsweets.com/

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2020 11:37

Oh yes. Carpet tape might work! It's very sticky and you'd get a free wax, if required, on removal.

And that's something to look forward to, Boots! 🙈
