I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

Oh that's annoying. This one has a beefeater attached so is doing breakfast. I haven't told the dc but they'll be so excited. I asked hem what they'd like to do in the holidays and the first thing they said was go to bath to see my sister and bil.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 08:38

It opens 5 days after we were going to stay! 🙈 But I wasn't going to faff about changing my annual leave. So, HIE it is!

I use the Zoe app :)

We have Bluestone booked for a long weekend in late August and really hoping it can go ahead!

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 08:49

I have the worlds heaviest period and crippling cramps.
I thought I'd got past this as they've been negligible, that's if they turn up at all.
DH is warned to stay away from the ensuite (I've had 2 showers already) he'll have to take a bath later instead of a shower Grin

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 08:51

Fluffy, where in Wales are you going?

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 08:53

Wreck the PI near us has a Beefeater - the carpark is always full of builders vans first thing Grin especially as our Morrisons is being revamped and the cafe is closed

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 08:55

Ffestiniog, Boots.

The railway is reopening at the end of July, so I'm keeping an eye on dates to get it booked for us.

Sorry about your bloody monsoon period. I've yet to experience such horrors. I'm more of the very light, but goes on for ages, and turns up when it wants variety at the moment.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 18/07/2020 08:57

Oh no boots hope it eases up soon!

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/07/2020 09:04

Feel better soon Boots. If it's any consolation I started mine last Monday. The first one in nearly 650 days. No warning, just bam! I'm early 50's - I thought I was done and dusted.

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 09:05

Lovely, and you get chuffy trains too Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:06

Woolly, that's so harsh! You were considered to have completed menopause at that point too. Cruel or what?!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:07

We love steam trains, Boots. We go on them every year at least once! And generally on almost every holiday. 🚂

Thanks all! It feels like someone has a very sharp knitting needle and is poking me with it. TMI If I shift position in the chair, I have to make a dash for the loo! I might just walk around the house all day - daren't go out and it's peeing down anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️
Woolly, that's why I have tons of sanpro stockpiled - you just never know and there is no way I could drive there and back and stand in a queue to buy any at the mo Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:13

Boots, my MiL bought some disposable nappy pants, like giant Tena, when she had campylobacter as that was very much like 70's Egypt trip!

Would they help for at least not galloping to the loo at home?

DD1 finished for the summer yesterday.

We should have been going on a Baltic/Russia cruise in August but that has been cancelled. Actually the cruise line is holding our deposits against a future cruise - I'm not sure I want to get on another floating petri dish in the future but that's next year's worry.

I'd like a holiday of some sort but haven't got a clue what to look for. Entertaining a 13yo who has been forcibly separated from his games console is a challenge 😂

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 09:21

Fluffy, I had a thought about your bookmarks. If you had a nice piece of patterned cotton, you could use the no sew hemming tape to "stick" it on the back of the stitching - it wouldn't be quite as think as 2 sheets of aida.

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/07/2020 09:22

Yes Fluffy I thought I was out the other side - virtually unscathed apart from a bit of insomnia. My imagination has run wild this week thinking it was something a bit more sinister than a period but it's just about stopped and I'll keep track of things and flag it to my GP if I'm worried.

Boots luckily I keep DD2 well stocked and was able to dip into her stash. It has reminded me not to get complacent and to build up a 2 person stock so we're not shafted by Brexit

pussycatinboots · 18/07/2020 09:25

Not sure they would, I'm very much Mrs Leaky this morning. Grin

Woolly, friends of DH had their cruise cancelled, but they have bravely (or stupidly) rebooked for Christmas as they were offered a hefty discount. P&O iirc.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:27

I wouldn't get on a cruise ship. No bloody way! That's just daft!

Boots, they contain other leakages trying not to be graphic quite efficiently. If she has any left I could post a sample to you?!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:28

Brilliant idea re the bookmarks. I'll look for some Christmas material on eBay.

I have a huge stock of hemming tape!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 18/07/2020 09:34

Fluffy I think I've got some Christmas fabric. Let me have a rummage. If I've got something suitable maybe why could pick it up next week so you can collect it when you visit.

I'll post pictures if I find anything.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2020 09:41

Oh, lovely, thank you!

I'm summoning up the motivation to go to the allotment. It's really wet though! But we're going to the wetlands place again tomorrow, so it has to be today. Booooo!

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/07/2020 10:12

We've got dry, dull and warm. The sun is trying but it's not happening. I'll get my washing dry at least and it's set fair for the rest of the week so I'll be able to clear the laundry baskets.

DS is doing his karate lesson and I'm carrying on with painting the Forth Road Bridge knitting my baby cardigan.
