pussycatinboots · 17/07/2020 18:39

Fluffy, have you got travel sickness tablets you could take?

FireflyGirl · 17/07/2020 19:06

MrsM he's been with the PO 27 years now. He used to drive a fork lift on the docks, then the company moved and we didn't want to relocate. He took the PO job while he looked for something else, but really enjoyed it so stayed. He's a proper social butterfly, my dad.

He used to be up and out at about 4 but finished for about 11 (sometimes earlier - back then they could go home once the round was done - then he'd go to his second job), and in the school holidays he used to take me and DSis with him (he'd come back and pick us up before DM left for work around 8.30). I have fond memories of helping him finish the round, then going to the bakery at the end of the last street for bacon sandwiches. All changed since then; they don't start until 8 now, and he'd get sacked if he had DC with him.

Fluffy I still have loads of travel sickness tablets I was prescribed for morning sickness, I can send you some? Grin

CrazyBaubles · 17/07/2020 19:20

I hate Tipping Point but still really enjoy a 2p machine (although they're rare nowadays as it's 10p+ in most places).

Fluffy are you a hay fever sufferer? I find high pollen cause awful headaches so that may be making you feel worse.

CrazyBaubles · 17/07/2020 19:21

Firefly I'm not a daytime tv fan either. Dm work part time so is usually home by 1. She watches Doctors and Real Housewives of various American places - they're 😱 they're so trashy but she loves them.

I know modern health and safety rules are for a good reason but I have lovely childhood memories that you couldn't get now.
My dad is a handyman, always has been. He used to take me to factories and fitting jobs - I earned pocket money pulling the plastic off newly fitted conservatories and in the factory I stood on his friends feet while he used a machine that made window frames.

CrazyBaubles · 17/07/2020 19:21

Neros mr pimple popper 🤢 almost had a typo and turned popper into pooper which would have been so much worse

It's so warm here, I walked the dog in a dress and flip flops, no cardi. I've tidied up a bit and eaten a delicious curry - homemade by DH. Going to pour myself a mojito and settle down to my cross stitch now.

No to travel sickness tablets (thereabouts thx only tablets I don't have!).

Yes to hayfever. And it's been really bad this week.

Headache itself is subsiding but I still feel sick. Travel sickness tablets could be a good shout actually! (I'm a terrible traveller; ask Why about the ferry to Belgium!)

My Dad had a second job too, he was the groundsman for a local golf club. He used to go to work for 4 like your Dad and be finished when the round was finished . He did all the countryside in his red van Smile

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/07/2020 21:08

Ah yes the epic ferry trip to Belgium where Fluffy was so sick I did not realise she would have enough room in her body to contain it all. To be fair it was a force 15 gale with stormy seas to match. Both myself and my aunt were both annoyingly unaffected 😂

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/07/2020 21:09

Hoorah that you made it Most - woohoo.

MarshmallowManiac · 17/07/2020 21:27

OMG Why I remember a ferry trip to Dublin when everyone was being sick all over the place. I was in the cinema and someone was sick behind me and it splashed against my legs. :(
