I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

DH and DS have got an appointment at the barbers this evening. Thank goodness! DS is looking like a Gallagher brother and DH bears an uncanny resemblance to Swiss Toni. 🤣

I'm more excited about getting my stitches out tomorrow. They've started to sting particularly at night when I lie down and it's making me feel a bit miserable when it's consistently waking me up at 3am.

WreckTangled · 16/07/2020 20:12

We've only just got home! We've been at the park since 3:30 with friends, had dominos delivered (I didn't have any after all the shortbread). Bad mummy I am forgot to sun cream ds and he's looking very golden, not burnt thankfully. It's still so warm out. I've got a bit of a headache though must be from not drinking anything.

Tomorrow we're off to the beach so need to get stuff ready for that now as we will leave early, just getting the dc settled for bed.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2020 20:14

You have very different weather to us Wreck. No risk of sunburn today! Or even being warm.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2020 20:16

Is it stitches or staples, Woolly? My staples were grim. My scarring is from the bloody staples causing issues, not the op.

My dad went at 8am on Monday to the barber. He's been rushed off his feet, apparently. (Vince's.)

It's currently 23° and will be 26° tomorrow....

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/07/2020 20:35

Wow Wreck it's been dry, dull and cool here and I though that was better than recently. If we don't get a bit of sun soon I'm going to have to start handing out the Vitamin D tablets at breakfast again.

Stitches Fluffy. They stung that much last night that I changed the dressing thinking I'd check if they were infected. They're not but I'm really hoping that it makes a difference when they're gone.

DH goes to a proper old fashioned place near the town centre and he loves it.

I've threatened to make a loaf at the weekend (found a recipe for crusty white bread) and I'kk do some more soup in my new fangled pressure cooker .

DS is off out on a Relaxed Lockdown Escape with his mates .
My attempts at cutting his hair cannot be that bad if he's willing to go out with other people .

It is like winter here but hopefullly it'll pick up.
I've got some nastursiums to plant , I know it's late in the season but they are pretty (even though they smell rank) and attract butterflies .

Might have a look in M&S for shortbread I bought a tin last year , tartan with a stag on it . Empty tin now used for batteries .

NerosFiddle · 16/07/2020 20:51

70 we had that tin of shortbread. It was used for dd's crayons for a while. I don't know where it is now.

NerosFiddle · 16/07/2020 20:52

Woolley could it just be the skin knitting back together. That stung like hell for me.

NerosFiddle · 16/07/2020 20:52

Fluffy we're warm here but it's been raining non stop

NerosFiddle · 16/07/2020 20:53

Reminds me of a joke.

How do you know is summer in Ireland?

The rain's warm.

Ba dum dum tsk

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 16/07/2020 21:11

Some more progress :)

MarshmallowManiac · 16/07/2020 21:32

OMG 70 everyone looks like a hippy in this house Smile We had that tin too, last here we bought a Santa one and now it's filled with Christmas cards, tags, and stamps, and DC's reports often wander in there. Smile

Neros haha, used to live there and spent every Summer there as a kid. Rain never stops play there otherwise you would never do anything Grin

Fantastic cross stitch Most

CrazyBaubles · 16/07/2020 21:32

MrsMad I love that Beatles song. We had specific Beatles songs at different parts of our wedding 😊

Marshmallow parking wars here are a bit mad. Most of us have allocated residential parking and 3 have driveways but so many neighbours have more cars than spaces and they're arseholes so there have been a few fishwife tense moments.

CrazyBaubles · 16/07/2020 21:33

Oh Woolly - does the stinging mean they're ready to come out? It's been a good few years since I had any and I can't remember what it felt like. Hopefully you'll start feeling better tomorrow.

I had my mop chopped a few weeks ago - very handy having hairdressers and beauty therapists in the family 😁

CrazyBaubles · 16/07/2020 21:34

Similar weather here Wreck although it didn't look particularly bright until about 4pm.
Don't forget sun cream and a water bottle tomorrow!

Neros 😂 I was told something similar about Ireland and Scotland. Also, if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 mins.

CrazyBaubles · 16/07/2020 21:34

Cross stitch looks good most

I'm home from DMs and had a lovely evening. I've also been a brat - dm (and df) bought me a lovely handbag as a congratulation present, but even better than that, dm stumbled on some Christmas towels on sale (£3 for a set of 2 hand towels) and bought us a set each Xmas Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/07/2020 21:36

I'm a snotty mess now after watching last nights Repair Shop.

My menfolk are back, looking handsome and about 2 stone lighter now they've been shorn.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2020 21:42

Here's my gnome cross stitch. Bookmark 1 is coming on. It's my 'daytime' cross stitch as it's simple to do. The big one is too complex for short periods!

Repair Shop does that to me too, Woolly. We're on Ambulance and it's almost as bad!

Hurrah for hair cuts!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2020 21:44

Most, your cross stitch is coming on so fast. I'm envious! 😂
